"Poor bastard. No worries for him now though." Fjolnir picks up a cask of meat, a pick, one lanter, and one of the flasks of oil before Dirk nabs them all. He cuts a lenght from the rope and loops a sling for the pick axe. "Body should hopefully be ok here while we delve a bit- till we can return it to Gundren." He sighs and follows Az down the rope to investigate NW. Stealth 19 Perception 18
Fjolnir notices the boots on the dead dwarf are uncharacteristically clean and un-worn compared to the rest of his clothing.
Anyone climbing down the rope needs to make an athletics check, DC 15. Normal rules of climbing apply: a successful check means you move half your speed down the rope. An unsuccessful check means you do not move, and a check that fails by 5 or more means you fall the remaining length.
I'll post scouting results after falling- I mean climbing results.
Before joining the group down the hole, Dustfinger examines the dwarf, particularly his wounds, to determine how or by what he was killed. He determines the dwarf was murdered with blunt and bladed weapons.
Leaving most of my gear behind in the cart and securing the Warhorse, Absinthe takes his backpack with just about everything he can fit in it, as well as his sledge hammer, crowbar, portable ram and grappling hook attached to hemp rope.
AAthletics: 16
I also check on Dirk upon my safe climb down, to make sure he isn't winded or concussed.
Just before heading down the rope he pauses "Ah... w... well shit..?" Fjolnir pulls the boots off "No wear n tear, an doin this poor feller any good..." -and he slides down the rope.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Absinthe makes it down the rope fine, Az Emberi fails to get a decent grip from the top and falls 20', Fjolnir takes the boots and makes it a little more than halfway down before missing a step and tumbling the rest of the way, Dustfinger apparently thought the ground would be softer... (Man, when you guys fail you fail hard.)
Az Emberi takes 5 damage
Fjolnir takes 1 damage
Dustfinger takes 8 damage
Hymir says, "I'll check those boots for magic later when we have time," and is a bit apprehensive about getting down the rope, but knows it needs to be done. Athletics: 17 His hands slip and he tumbles backward but hangs in the air and slowly descends the 20', landing on his feet. "Yup, I can do that." (You haven't rolled your portent dice yet, but I imagined you would cast Feather Fall on yourself. If you wouldn't have and would like to take the 2d6 damage instead of using a spell slot, let me know and we'll retro that.)
"Well I was just going to check on Dirk, until it started raining men. I think after we clear thit cave I should teach the lot of you a thing or two about finesse. By the way, did anybody break anything that they know of? Bokes or gear?"
Az Emberi advances followed closely by Dirk (Who can't see him, so he just guesses how far he's made it) and finds through the tunnel... more tunnels! This area consists of numerous intersecting passages. The ceilings here are only six feet high, and several of the passages end in partially excavated rock faces.
Dustfinger thinks he'd like to hold on to the silence and revivify scrolls, if they aren't being claimed by anyone else.
"I will check the NW passage first." I climb down the rope and walk cautiously down the NW passage.

-We are all just one failed saving throw away from someone else's fantasy...

Dustfinger gets up and dusts himself off. He heads off along the northwest corridor.

Two dead ends. You don't notice anything interesting.
Absinthe and Hymir can no longer see.
