Fjolnir stares at the chalk blankly, and asks, "Ah, anyone get handed any chalk from the Corpse Whisperer up there? If we find any traps we can mark them off... i got nothin on me to do it."
"We can just piss on them," Dustfinger contributes helpfully to Fjolnir's suggestion, before scooting around the square into the junction beyond. Looks left, looks right, and splits his dancing light in two, sending each light ten feet to either side of him. If the corridors go further than that, he splits each light in two again, sending those duplicates up to ten feet away from the others.
(Four lights, ten feet apart, two to the left, two to the right)
From the junction Dustfinger can see a room to the South with a raised platform on the opposite end with a body on it. There is a small empty alcove set into the wall.
To the North is a long hallway with 2 separate doorways North and several chalk markings along the floor. It curves around to the right at the end.
There is a red outline around the raised area. The body is decayed to about the same level as Hamun Kost's zombies, although it's head is pretty much flat. It is unclear what flattened it. The alcove set in the wall is about 3' from the ground, and is about a 2' cube. It is empty.
Investigation check DC 15:
You notice a discolored square in the alcove where something may have been resting. The base of the alcove seems to be a pressure plate that was only safe while depressed. As soon as it lifted from lack of weight, something must have smashed Monty's head. Further inspection reveals an outline directly above the alcove where the crushing thing must be hidden.

Dustfinger conjoins and collects his two lights from the pedestal room and moves to the corridor on the left with the light above his head. He is mindful of colored outlines and waits by the first line he comes to. He moves the furthest light he had previously positioned in this hall back and into the doorway he notices on the left. He does not move over the line to see what's in the room until the party concludes how to handle the line.
The red line on the floor is right in front of a thin slit in the wall that runs all the way up to and across the 10' ceiling and down the other side. You can assume this is a trap based on the previous chalk outlines, but you can't see a trigger mechanism of any kind, and you can't see into the slit from an angle, you would have to position yourself over the red line to see anything.

As soon as the zombie crosses the threshold of the red line you hear a click, followed by a grinding noise like metal on metal, then a loud *Clang*. Nothing happens, but the same series of noises repeats every few seconds.
Dirk leaps across the carcass of Monty the ex-zombie, timing it between click-grind-clangs, and remains unscathed. You can now see through the doorway just past the line.
The room is empty with no markings of any kind. There is another doorway on the left.
I suspect that the solid line may indicate that the trap is tripped or otherwise done, and that zig zag down at the end of the hall may indicate otherwise.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Fjolnir darts along to keep pace, looks at Monty and whispers, " *snickering* Eh, ya think we should go upstairs and drag more dead c*nts down here for doorstops and trap weights?"
Now that there's light, you notice red chalk on the floor in a 10x10 area near the NE hallway.

I would like to inspect the raised platform area, and the body. Search for valuables.

I explain the trap. "There is probably nothing of value to be found here we need to go deeper where the necromancer has not been."

If you think it wise to trust that man to have found everything, fine. 14 investigation

Shrug "he seems thorough but a quick look around won't hurt" I go into the hallway and investigate the first red line.
Maybe, but he also seems inept. Absent minded, like what I expect from any scholar. I follow Az and help any endeavor to discover/avoid traps.

Dirk and Az Emberi heft the redead zombie off the pedestal area careful not to hit the pressure plate and toss him onto the first red line
