"No problem," I reply, handing Ashley the spear, "I just hope you're better with it than I am. Now, Delight and anyone else who can see in the dark, what kind of ranged combat capabilities do you have?"
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack

Delight hesitates briefly at Ashley's request for someone more accustomed to darkness to take the lead, not wanting to run head-first into the teeth of a giant rat even if she did carry her rapier in case the worst should happen, instead commenting, "That's an excellent idea, though in my own case I can keep an eye out from the back, so that if there are going to be rats after all, none might sneak up from behind us. Perhaps our tabaxi or elven companion would be willing to lead?" Delight is unable to actually if tabaxi have vision suitable for darkness, but makes the suggestion anyway.
"And I am, in fact, quite able to handle ranged combat if need be," she adds. "I've picked up a few spells that may come in handy in an emergency."
OOC:
With darkvision, Delight treats normal darkness as dim light, allowing her to see with disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks. Her passive Perception is just a 10, which would be reduced to a 5 in sight-related situations on account of the dim light disadvantage.
"Ah, a mage. Good. Delight, tailguard--always a good idea--Cloud and I will take point. Everyone else, stay in the middle, and someone hold a torch." Once everyone's in position, I start walking forward on high alert, crossbow at the ready.
Passive Perception 8 out to 60', nonexistent past that point.
"I could do some work with this,"Ashley says as she takes the spear. She feels its weight in her hands, flips it around before setting it aside. "Yes. I do believe this will suffice. Your generosity is quite appreciated, Caelynn."
"My own ranged capabilities are rather limited, sadly," she says as she begins walking behind Cloud and Caelynn. "Sans a dagger and now this spear, I'm afraid I'm quite out of luck. I have a mean eye for damage, however."
She instantly frowns at the mention of a torch however. "Are you sure?" Ashley asks. "I do believe we agreed earlier that open flame inside a dirty, musky sewer was not for the best. I'll follow your good judgement if you believe otherwise, but I do wish to come out alive out of here."
Ashley: +1 spear
Spear. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage, or 7 (1d8 + 3) piercing damage if used with two hands to make a melee attack.
The tabaxi speaks with a smirk on her face and a very brief curtsy "Delight....delighted to be your guide for this sewer adventure, just try to not blown up everything" and then, she follows Caelynn on the lead

As the party continues on into the dank sewers, all of a sudden, a strong odious scent, much more potent than the normal one, wafts down, and a feeling of supernatural dread washes over you all.
(Make a Wisdom saving throw, and perhaps a related check to find the source)

Ashley coughs sharply as the party descends, the scent making her eyes water and her nose burn. Her eyes then widen as her heart quickens, and her breathing begins to hyperventilate unnaturally, as if brought on by something else. Or someone else. She turns and stares around, but is unable to see anything.
"Oh... oh gosh," Ashley gasps, before coughing into her sleeve. "Does... does anyone else... does anyone feel... feel that?" She takes a breath of putrid-sewer air, attempts to regain a hold of herself. She then attempts to blend into the shadows, silencing her footsteps and hiding in the darkness if possible.
Ashley has a +0 to Wisdom saving throws.
Ashley Alden makes a Wisdom saving throw! 1d20 + 0 = 15
Ashley has a +6 to Dexterity (Stealth) checks due to Expertise. If a creature cannot see in darkness and her roll beats its passive Perception, she is hidden from it, as she is unseen and unheard. If the creature has darkvision and she is within its line of sight, it has a -5 to its passive Perception to see her.
If a creature's passive Perception beats her Stealth check, but cannot see her (not within darkvision), it can hear but not see her. It would know her location, but all attacks against her would be at disadvantage.
WARNING: I made an error. It is meant to be 1d20 + 6, not 9. She has a 22 to Stealth, NOT 25. Please rule accordingly.

After the wave of nausea sweeps over Ashley, in a second it subsides. She feels disturbed by the wave but it does not hinder her movements as she sneaks through the damp sewer.

EDIT WARN: well, I don't know what happens but I put 4 rolls in this post, one was unfitted well (miss a backslash) and then while editing this post to add it with the next saved change I reroll also the other previous good one rolls, so, I am gonna add the text here, but all the results but Perception check are different from the first shot and then I will post a new message to have all clear, sorry, next time I will redo the unfitted roll directly in a new post.
@Shavarath: given that, do what you want with my rolls..

Upon initially entering the sewers, Delight smirks briefly at Cloud's pun, only for that smirk to be wiped away as, just further into the sewers, a feeling of horror and dread washes over her. Eyes widening in fear, Delight immediately stands on guard, drawing her rapier in one hand and keeping the other ready for spellcasting. Her eyes dart around the area, trying to find a source of the ominous dread.

Ashley hears the sound of her party members gasping and frowns. Something had to be doing that, she thinks to herself, and slides to the far left side of the tunnel. The human's gloved hand reaches out, presses against the wall before slowly following it forward. She moves forward quietly and slowly, with her head perked to attention and her spear at the ready. She hates not being able to see anything, but she hopes the cover of darkness would be enough to hide herself.
Her spear hovers above the ground 5 feet in-front of her, uses it as a silent walking stick to check for obstacles and traps. Her ears remain alert and on the ready, listening for the sounds of any creatures in-front of her.
Ashley has a +2 in Wisdom (Perception) checks. She is currently blinded, so she automatically fails any check that requires sight. However, she can still hear.

as he notices his compatriots being effected by some odor the smell finally hits Wilgrim's olfactory senses... and he peers harder into the darkness attempting to find the source of the odor.
fear grips Grams heart as the smell hits his nose, he begins to examine the area for the scorce of the smell and to quickly survey the area around him for an escape route.
Delight feels the fear leave her almost as soon as it came, but the smell does not subside.
Caelynn fails to root out the fear, and the constant dripping of the sewers reverberates in her head, and she instantly stops in her tracks - wild eyed and stunned. (incapacitated and frightened)
Same goes for Wilgrim. He instantly drops as the constant plunking of te sewer water gets to his head. (also incap and fright)
Grimm too.
Finbar manages to push away the creeping fear, and as his eyes scour the interior of the sewer, it settles on a small barely noticeable valve near a staircase.
