"It seems our employer may not be as honest as we first believed them to be."Leto says to the group, adding "To fulfill our contract it seems we'd need to go take it from those who have need of it. Though there is no reward for investigating why we were sent on this task, I would like to know why our time is being wasted so..."
Well i mean we could go report what information we have found, then see what we should do. I mean if our employer could just strike a bargain with those who have it, we could cut these thugs out of it, and those that need it will have first dibs on this calentula.
"Agreed..." Leto replies to Vox' mumbling, adding "Though perhaps he didn't know of the twins, eh, generous side, and did honestly want his product back. We should be careful jumping to conclusions. Regardless, it seems our payday will not be as simple as we'd all hoped... Shall we head back and see what our 'employer' did, or did not, actually know of where his product has found itself?"
"Hmm... Not yet. Let's sweep by the poor side of town and make sure the product was delivered there as thr twins said. Maybe find out more about these... Blood Bonds along the way," Vox replies to Leto.
Leto shrugs and says "I didn't have any other plans for the day... why not. Lead the way." and will follow Vox towards the poor areas of town, sending Raven Hulud up to just keep a general eye out of their surroundings.
The group has no problem to find the poorest part of the town. In fact it's not far from the mill they went last night, but at the other side of the river. They have to cross a bridge over the river and the proper city wall is on the mill side so they enter a zone that seems to have grown near the river and the walls.
The houses here aren't more than some wooden planks put together to cover people from the weather and they grow together one to another, as if they needed the others to support their own weight. The air is cold and humid, due to the proximity to the river.
They see people around the streets, who mostly by their bussiness and few take a second look at the party. It's not as crowded as it was the city streets yesterday, and certanly there is no festivity but ther are not empty either.
Vox, Mezrin and Raul notice that there is a particular house where there is a small group of people sitting in benches or barrels like if they are waiting to go inside. Most of them seems pale and cough constantly.
Vox nods at the sickly looking group, asking the others, "Maybe we could ask them about these 'Blood Bonds?' Best to stay a safe distance away though."
Reaching the house they see there is a line of people waiting to go inside. By the look of them it seems that they got feber and most of them cough.
The doors of the house are open and it's not a big house. They can see an old woman, aided by a young tiefling with blue skin, taking care of the sick. It seems that the old woman is not only attending the sick, but also making questions and nodding and poiting things to her young attendant. No one tries to stop them but some throws a little bit scared looks to her well armored group.
( The well armed group is you... group of adventurers with armors and shileds and deadly weapons and spellbooks and ravens and staffs... and... things.. )
Vox, maintaining some distance from the infirmed, bows towards the old woman and asks, "We were told that some Calendula Laetate was distributed through this are to aid the sick did you not receive any?"

Oh wait, the thugs gave it to them... hmmmm.
"Because we don't want the Blood Bonds to find us. They control the black market here and half Karrnath and we better keep our heads low for a while."

// OOC.... Does Vox recognize the name (Blood Bonds)? If not, she'll ask the others present if they do.
