Maya would move to allow Tanirall to hold the front and position herself behind Khloe again. She’d place a gentle hand on Khloe’s back and whisper, “I got you.”
Maya knew she should have prepared some berries earlier today to have on hand, as she may have had opportunity for a short rest before coming here. Now’s not the time for regret though. She’d look around at her comrades, their readiness instilling confidence in her.
Khlöe tenses a tad bit at Maya touching her back but quickly relaxes as she’s healed “Thank you.”
Glancing a the goblin corpses half-curious half-perturbed by their presence in the quarry. Khlöe had assumed the only encounters the group would have would be with either the workers or the serpentine creature. Not removing the dart from her hands she speaks “Either the unseen dwarf workers weren’t dwarf workers at all or whatever entrance that let loose the creature maiming the villagers had other inhabitants.”
ooc - are we still in initiative order because of the sound that was coming down the hall.
Zansnut had to curb his instinctive impulse to loot the bodies with the group. Dressed as a dwarf, like he was it would look to suspicious for him to be joining in with the party if he was a prisoner. "No thanks I will look at the next bodies we create."
Seeing the humans, she knew she couldn’t attempt to snare or even charm them after healing her comrade. Taking advantage of the brackish water dripping from the lichen walls, Maya would reach her arms out to call upon the wave, casting Shape Water. She’d pool the water ahead of Tanirall as the guards charge, and with a snap of her fingers she’d freeze it beneath the guards running feet.

ooc - Zansnut is trying to stop the fighting by pretending to be a minor. He did use his disguise kit. Which it says to add proficiency bonus to checks that used a visual disguise. My proficiency is +2 and I haven't added it to the above roll because I'm not sure if it applies in this case.
“This is all just a misunderstanding, yes? We are here to help and it would be best if you and you’re men let us be. We face a danger here that is potentially hazardous to you. We do not want to see you harmed. My name is Allistar and I am Charmed ( charm person ) to meet you.”
With those words filling the air a slight glimmer twinkles from Allistar’s eyes, much like starlight before fading back to normal

It may be unorthodox but maybe we should ask these intruders to aid in guarding until we are sure those things are gone for good." Zansnut stepped closer to the group, giving himself distance from his party. If anything were to go wrong he wanted the humans to think he was on their side and not the supposed intruders.

Flemig moves around the corner and up next to Tanirall (or one step beyond him towards the guards if necessary) and casts Sleep at Guard 2, with the intention of getting both guards under the spell.

Kasian: As far as I can tell I can't add any modifiers to this roll, but I'm not 100% sure that is the case. Can you verify?

If we are thinking about knocking out the guard I’d recommend maybe Tanirall or Khloe for that maybe? Otherwise I’ve been thinking about using Shape Water with a similar trick as before as (if read right) I can up to 2 non-instantaneous effects at once.)

As torchlight fills the other end of the short passage, the humans come into view, running hard in their armor with their shields and spears ready.
