The following are the rules for posting and playing in this game. Please read these rules carefully and follow them as you best can. Always feel free to ask questions or for clarification on rules.
Posting
When not in battle, post to your heart's content. When in battle, only post for your turn if you can, but feel free to quip if you'd like.
All posts should be in the third person. I do not care about your tense as long as I can read it!
Use "Quotations" when you speak. Pick a color and use that color for your speech. This makes posts easier to read and see who is talking. Bolding your speech is recommended, but not enforced. Please choose a color that is easy to read. You may be asked to change the color of your speech.***
Sentences should be complete. No chatroom speak or excessive use of shorthand.
Most rolls will occur in the thread. Some rolls can occur in Discord (for example, you are unable to post a roll via mobile). There may be moments, for the sake of secrecy, you may be asked to roll in private. I'll provide direction on when this happens. 😃
Keep most OOC to the OOC thread or discord aside from leaving quick questions or statements inside of (parenthesis).
When using abilities, please provide the tooltip if you can! (Example in spoiler)
How do the tooltips/links to spells etc work?
D&D Beyond offers the ability to link certain aspects on the forum in mouse-over triggered tooltips, such as magic items, monsters or combat actions - examples being Adult Black Dragon and dash. To create tooltips in this way as these, use the appropriate [tag][/tag] around the desired subject.
Example: [ magicitem]sunblade[/ magicitem] (Without spaces within the [ ] brackets.)
When we are in combat, feel free to post your turn whenever even when out of sequence. The DM will summarize everyone's posts and include enemy action and movement at the end of the round.
Home Rules
Power. Everyone has a power which is a spell of level 1, 2, or 3 that is at-will/cantrip-like. This spell may be augmented at the discretion of the DM. The spell is cast as a third level spell without the use of spell slots. The power cannot be scaled by using spell slots.
Inspiration Action: Inspiration can be stored and you can have a maximum of 3 points. You may spend 3 inspiration points to take an additional action during your turn. This action can only be used for a Standard or Movement action.
Inspiration Points. Players may award other players with inspiration points if they feel someone is roleplaying particularly well. There is no limit to how many points can be handed out, but try not to abuse this or it will go bye-bye.
Battle Summary: Everyone will post their turn in battle when they can instead of posting via initiative order. DM will sum up the battle in their post which will include what the enemies are doing. This means you may not know what the enemy is doing until the DM posts the summary. Whenever a player takes an action that would become null and void due to player or enemy movements, DM will contact player over Discord -or- will redirect player action in a way that is beneficial to player (whichever player prefers).
Help Action: When one character helps another character outside of combat, they either must be trained in the same skill as the check OR they must be able to justify why a different trained skill would help. The player must also roleplay out exactly what they do to help. Help Action in battle still grants advantage, though I would still like to see narratively what you are doing to give the advantage (don't worry, you won't ever be denied the action). No skill check required.

You blink, wide-eyed. Confused. Your mind moves out of a dark fog, and your vision clears. You behold evidence of great destruction. You swear you can almost hear screaming, crying, but the ringing in your ears is just so loud. All around you are fires and rubble made from what seems like a city.
Bong. Bong.
The damn ringing! Your head is about to burst open, and you try to clutch your head. Try as you might, your body does not move, and soon you realize you are not alone. There are several people here. You first notice the blue cloaks and shiny armor of several men and women. They seem to have command over the situation... and you. One such person towers over you and puts their foot to your head. You can't make out any distinguishing traits about them as their helm and obscures their face, and their armor covers every inch of their body.
"Finally caught you and your filth," a deep feminine voice bellows from the armor. She digs her heel further into you, "A promotion will be in store for my triumph here today, and soon, #*$@!# will be taken care of."
The word filters out of your mind as soon as you hear it. Or as soon as you heard it...?
Bong. Bong.
"What do you mean?"That same infernal voice from before sounds annoyed and much less smug. "That isn't possible. Cast the spell again."
You still can't move, and somehow your head hurts even more than it did a second ago. The scene of a wartorn city fades from sight replaced by sterile white walls. The smell of smoke and fire suddenly absent in favor of something acrid. You realize you are lying down, fastened down by something.
You reach out to your power by instinct. The mysterious power only you can command without effort. Yet it abandons you.
Pathetic. A voice reaches into your mind. It's masculine, raspy, and somehow artificial.
Bong. Bong!
Your life flashes before your eyes, but aside from a few faded and confusing images, you can't seem to remember what's happened most recently.
Bong-bong!
Your mind and heart race toward the finish line as the ringing becomes louder and louder.
Bong-bong!
This time it really will happen. Your head will explode, and this will be the end of your story.
It all ends here...!
Dead silence.
You open your eyes and find yourself in a triangular cell. Looking around, you see there are four others here. With your cells connected, you form a circle. It takes you a moment, but everyone here looks familiar though you are sure you have never met them. They all have strange runes that glow just inches away from their necks. You must have one too, though you aren't quite able to see it.
Something else that catches your eye when you examine the others in this room... their left eyes - all of them - they all have a strange scar. At first glance, they all seem to have the same cut across them; however, when their left eye closes you notice the corners of their eyes seem to be much darker than usual. Indeed, it would appear their eyes are all branded a particular way.
At the center of the circle, you spy a cage. Within this cage rests a crow on a perch that is high above you all. A cold intelligence pierces you when the crow looks at you...
(Notes: With that all said, we are currently in what seems to be the first day of your incarceration. There don't seem to be any other people here right now except all of you. You have no idea why you are in prison, though you may make any assumption you would like with regards to your reasons for being here. Regardless of your affiliation during the war, you have no idea the Dark Raven had an elite squad, much less that you were part of it. You still believe the war to be going on.)
During your incarceration...
1. Feel free to make any checks you would like! Including knowledge checks. Even if you roll poorly, depending on what you are trying to know or understand, I may just grant the knowledge to you willingly without a roll. It's just best to roll just in case.
2. All of your powers are being suppressed. All of your spells, if you have any, are being suppressed as well.
3. You always feel as though you are being watched.
So please introduce your character, detail their appearance (share a picture if you have one!), and I will progress the story when things have settled down, so feel free to interact with each other as well!

Xelazhia slowly, confusedly, walks to the front of the cell directly opposite the odd, talking dog. She says nothing, but silently studies her surroundings with intelligent, soulful eyes.
An adult—though still fairly young by elven standards—her ear tips follow the contours of her head, in keeping with the slender grace of her bearing and appearance. Most noticeable, however, is a horrible disfigurement on the lower left side of her face; an old scar that tears uneven fissures across her jawline and cheek, riding all the way up to her nose.
She looks to each cell to see if she recognizes anyone, then around her own cell to see if by some miracle there was a means of escape.
Xelazhia really doesn't know who anyone here is, but she feels like she should know these people. Thinking about this facr, however, makes her head ring like it had just moments ago. A dull ache grasps at the corners of her memory. Why can't she remember anything? Only time will tell... Hopefully.

Grateful that the ringing and throbbing have faded a bit, Amanita stays under the thin blanket covering her while she listens to the introductions. She softly mutters a word in Sylvan and circles her hand in front of her face. Instantly she realizes her attempt to alter her appearance did not work. Hmmm, she ponders and peers out from her cover. Seeing she is in a cell, her chest tightens. She searches around for a window, a hole in the ceiling, a way to see outside.
She takes a deep breath and looks into the other cells. On one side, she sees a white fluffy creature and the other a humanoid with the graceful bearing of an elf. Her gaze pauses on the first to discern if it may be fey-touched like she. No, Dogfolk. That is not way they seem familiar, then. Across there are two more cells, but she can’t quite see the occupants from under the blanket. Slowly she moves to get up.
A tall. willowy figure rises from the cot, the blanket falling aside. Twig-like antlers stick out from a huge mass of mossy tangles, pale eyes gleaming under the tendrils. Her skin is mottled green and light brown. As she moves, she exudes a scent like an old growth forest the morning after a summer rain: moist earth, rotted wood, and newly spawned fungus.
She approaches the front of her cell and tilts her head. “Amanita,”she says pointing a long finger toward herself. Then she touches her left eyes feeling for the scar. “Hmmm.” She looks up again, searching for sky and sees the crow.
“How goes it Sir Corvidae? Can you tell us why we are here?" (Anything I can add for this? Is "Speech of Beast and Leaf" suppressed as well?)
Vuist returns to a meditative stance and comments to Pouf, "After your done telling us about where your minds wanders off to, you also may want to introduce yourself to that one," Vuist gestures towards the firbolg, "and ask where she got the blanket from. I didn't know there were already favorites in this prison."
Amanita's vision is still not 100%. Its like that stage after a migraine where you still can't look into the light.
Everyone, including Amanita when she feels better, sees there is one entrance to this room. You are all in the center of a circular room and while there are windows, they are small slits that are hard to look through to the world outside.

Still tracing the image on her eye, she looks at the kithkin and the scar on his eye. "Crow's feet," she murmurs.
She looks back to her blanket, which had fallen to the floor then back to Vuist. "Favorite?" she questions and tries to remember anything about why she is in this place or what/where this place might be.

From the fifth cell a lithe, slight figure shifts on the small bed as a groan of pain rises from the figure's throat. "Nnnngh." A startled gasp as its head shoots up and begins to glance around. A ghostly white face with large, pale eyes and a small nose look around to take in the area and the people around. A very androgynous voice calls out quietly to the others, painfully aware of the large crow watching them. "Where am I? Who are you people? Why can I not remember anything?" There's a short pause. "Am I... dead?"
Pouf greets both the new people, “Hallo! I Pouf! Who are you? Also, you are probably firmly on ze not dead side of life right now. I feel like ve vould feel dead if we were dead!”

They keep me rollin'

"Am I... dead?"
