"Well, any arcane spellcaster is welcome to join, it isn't compulsory, but it does come with many perks, such as discounts on spell components and things like that," Volo says. "The guilds hold a lot of sway, and the order is one of them," he continues.
"Well, I'll speak to my contacts and see if I can get a mage, though it's likely that they won't be able to do anything until at least tomorrow, if they will at all. They typically need some form of proof, and somewhere to focus their attention," Renaer says. "Probably best to get those outfits and then head to your place, I'll meet you there whether successful or not," he nods towards you all, and stands up, "but for now, I need to rest. Good evening," he says as he gets up to leave.
Briga again contacts Torizio Aristach to arrange for him to work with the spellcaster Renaer puts them in contact with to try to locate his missing signet ring. If that meeting with the party, Torizio and the mage is to take place the next day, that afternoon/evening she uses her Ear to the Ground background feature from Urban Bounty Hunter to speak with local fences about whether the Black Viper has sold any stolen goods, and any leads on the identity of the thief they can provide, per the feature's description.
If we're going back to the tavern, and have some time to kill, Tyrus will spend it doing fixit work around the building and getting to know the three halflings better. We've probably been told their names, but I can't remember them. [OOC: DM, could you please add the names, sexes and other identifying details to the Campaign Public Notes for future reference.] He will enquire if they need anything. He will also make enquiries as to whether they've seen anything strange while working in the building.

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
[OOC: They haven't given you their names yet, also - for Briga: This evening is also the evening of the opera]
IC: Going around the tavern, some work is needed to make it a nice place, and as griff is helping to run the bar, a glass of ale pours itself and floats over to him, after which a broomstarts sweeping the floors seemingly by itself. The halflings nod and introduce themselves as Keslo and Danika Fiddlewick (male and female respectively), and Dasher Snobeedle (male), who each smile up at you and appreciate the short break.
While Tyrus is fixing up the tavern, he notices what looks like a morsel of food near a hole in the inside wall. When the halflings are asked about it, they are unaware of anything strange, and that the bar has done a lot of the work itself. They say they've cleaned up the place a little, when they are quiet, and that business is OK.
During the afternoon, Briga pops out to see if she can hear anything about this Black Viper, apparently the talk is it is a human woman of the nobility, but that's all she is able to find out. Everyone also collects their outfits from the tailor and deliver the autograph you spoke to Volo about, giving you all the discussed discount and the outfits as planned. They all fit perfectly, and you are all gather in the tavern in your outfits to head to the opera.
"Word on the street is that the Black Viper is a human, a noble lady. Could give some support to Gaxley's theory that she's one of the Cassaltanter sisters, or working for them," Briga says. "Enough talking to shady fences, time for the opera, gang."
Tyrus, who is a dwarf of his hands, enjoyed fixing things for the halflings and is coming to like the spirit of the place (pun intended). During the time he spent helping, he will have also idly asked the room if there is a name they should use when referring to the spirit. Hopefully a name will have been written somewhere that one of them can find.
For the trip to the opera, he has decided to leave most of his gear in his room [OOC: see character sheet for details]. He will tuck his dagger into the back of his belt under his coat and put his component pouch and potion of healing in opposite pockets of the coat.
[OOC: DM, it is unclear from the above description whether the suit Tyrus is wearing is the rental suit suitable for a servant, as was intended, or the finer suit that was described by the shop owner.]
"How far is it to this opra house?" Tyrus asks Arlon, looking at the fine clothes the others are wearing. "Should we be getting a carriage? You don't want to go spoiling them there nice clothes of yours by traipsing through the streets in them."

[OOC: Tis up to you, if you want the servant-like one, you certainly can have that, but the other is personally made for you, and is the most exquisite of all of them]
Heading to the Opera house, which is located in the Castle Ward, takes about ten minutes by foot, but a coach has come to collect you and is waiting outside the tavern, halving the journey time. You arrive at the opera, and take your seats. The opera itself is an opera in Giant
[If you speak Giant:]
The opera is about the many battles and eventual fall of Tiamat, Queen of Dragons. A popular opera and giant works well with the style of music.
During the interval, you go to the place where you were instructed by the letter, where there is a rather rotund man sitting wearing furs and a feathered hat. He turns and says "Ah, the Abandoned Dragons, may I say it is a pleasure to finally meet you all. I hope you're enjoying the opera so far," he says, as he turns his head slightly to look at you.
Tyrus's plan was to go in disguise as Arlon's valet—he doesn't go for putting on airs and would feel even more uncomfortable doing that than acting as a servant—so he will wear the plain suit that he originally requested.
In the carriage ride, he will also ask Arlon what is expected of him as a valet so that the two of them don't look too out of place in their respective roles. He's also happy to do servant-like things during the first part of the opera (e.g., getting drinks, holding cloaks, etc. In fact, he will do anything so that he doesn't have to sit in a seat and listen to non-giants singing operatically in giant; has a fat lady sung yet?) Finally, when they go to meet Mirt, he will stand slightly behind Arlon's right shoulder as a good servant should.
Briga hops around a bit, waving enthusiastically. "And you must be Mirt! Big time hero turned moneylender! It's a pleasure! I'm Briga." She steps back and smooths out her dress, and gestures to her friends, allowing them to introduce themselves.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tyrus will wait until Arlon introduces himself and then nod curtly to Mirt. He will stay silent and watch Mirt carefully during the coming conversation looking for signs of duplicity (Insight Roll: 22).

((OOC: Explaining what Tyrus needs to do for you isn't going to require a deception check, but I'll put this up, which might change things))
IC: Mirt nods to each one of you, including the one that hasn't spoken yet, "I heard you opened a tavern in the North Ward, the old Trollskull. I used to visit there when Lif ran the place, he was always committed to the place. Rumour has it he has never left the building, even after death," he says to you all, "Also, I heard you managed to save a dear friend of mine, Mr. Neverember. I must admit, I am impressed. However, there was someone of you that I wanted to speak to specifically," he said, looking over the group. "Where's Tyrus?" he asks.
Realising that his attempt at disguise is not going to fool this man—who seems to know so much about them all—for very long, Tyrus steps forward and says, "I be Tyrus of the Sunset Mountains, and I hope you be Mirt; friend of Volo and Durnan and Renaer. Be that right?"
"That is correct, my dear boy" Mirt says with a cheerful experession. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Tyrus - in fact, I was hoping to specifically speak with you first, regarding a possible... job opportunity. Now, I am a money lender, that is my job now, but part of that means that I invest in a lot of businesses that have been successful. I heard you were reupping the trollskull tavern, and so I thought I would reach out and see what you planned to do with the place, and if I think it will be a successful business, talk about investment opportunities. That's why I invited you all here, to discuss your business, and maybe invest within your business.
As for why I invited you here specifically Tyrus," Mirt begins before opening his coat slightly, revealing a pin shaped like a harp surrounded in a crescent moon, and then producing one out of his pocket, offering it to you. "For the work you've done saving Renaer, I wanted to see if you would like to join the Harpers. We're an orginisation that stands against evil, in all it's forms and to keep those in political power to account. What do you say?" he asks you with hope in his eyes.
[OOC: Okaaay... DM, What does Tyrus know of the Harpers, seeing as he doesn't actually consider himself a bard and certainly doesn't act like one? Of course, I could read this up, but Tyrus's reaction will be based on what he is deemed to know of them.]
