"Maybe you are right. It is strange that there are so many in one place. I m not very good at shadowing someone but I might be able to get them talking. Then again looking like I do I might start at a disadvantage." Arlon look at his fine clothes.
"it might also be worthwhile to go look at the registries for information on the family or just look for rumors and gossips in the local taverns."
"You're from around these parts," Tyrus says to Arlon. "Are there any taverns near here that would serve the likes of those tieflings? If so, that would be where they would most likely go to drink after work."
Then he adds, "It might even be worth our while asking the regulars of that place what they think of the tieflings, and if they've heard any rumours regarding them."

OOC: Briga is trained in Stealth and has an above average dexterity, but no night vision, as you'd all be aware, so pros and cons to any plans to have her shadow someone at night.
OOC: I can use the Ear to the Ground feature from Urban Bounty Hunter to set up a contact with a street level informant, we could hit up a tavern to ask for information, do the shadowing plan, or skip to the formal meeting tomorrow. It sounds like the tavern is the next step, correct? Then we'll see from there?
After his own attempt at subterfuge proved not very useful, Tyrus is happy for Briga to take the lead on the investigation for the rest of the day. He will, however, get his handaxe back off her.

"I m game for touring the taverns while you go and follow one." Arlon says to Briga. "I ll check the area here fist to see if they have rumors about the family."
You all head to the nearest tavern, the Silken Slyph, to find out more information on the Cassalanters. The place is starting to pick up as you enter into the later afternoon and early evening, and people in the Sea Ward are getting off work, at least the servants that are hired. None of the servants in the tavern seem to come from the Cassalanters, but other local noble house servants have come to unwind during their time off.
Griff says with a growl, "I'm not much of an investigator, but I can't help but think we're missing something... Maybe I should just threaten the guard until he tells us what we want to know."

Arlon will mingle and talk about the tavern they just acquired and ask if they know of any servants who what a change of scenery.
" I heard the cooks of the Cassalanters are pretty good but they seem to be a tight-knit group. Can't have one talking to me even with good pay. Tried to ask the other servants there but got the same cold shoulder. Don't seem like they like others that much and can't see one here for that matter."
(Take the roll you think is best. Insight roll 17 or Deception roll 13 )
Tyrus will stay in the background and watch the reactions of the people Griffdar and Arlon talk to. He's particularly interested in seeing if anyone leaves the place immediately afterwards. If so, he will indicate the person who is leaving to Briga so that she can follow them, if she wants. He will also go with her, if she wants him to.

As you start asking around, you hear various things. One of the people you talk to says that the Cassalanters mean trouble, and that there's something about them that people aren't able to work out, just a sense of uneasiness around them. Another story says that they are holding a party and inviting both the richest and the poorest, people are saying even homeless from the field ward have been invited. A rather unusual move for a noble to do such things, especially bank owners. However, when asking about the thefts, the stories are all the same. A woman in a black mask, when she speaks she sounds like she is a noble, the way she holds herself also suggests that. Nobody seems to know the identity of the figure however.
Briga quietly affirms she will follow Tyrus' guidance and follow anyone who bolts in response to their line of questioning. At overhearing mention of the party, she quietly says to her friends, when an opportunity arises, "OK, I didn't think much was that odd about the Cassalanters until now. They seemed like your usual rich and powerful family - full of family secrets, skeletons in their closet, and shady dealings no doubt, but that's normal. This party thing sounds weirdly out of character. Based on the way their guards received us the other day, it sure doesn't seem like they're some unique, wealthy altruists who have an open door policy to rich and poor alike. So, why this party, reaching across the social classes? Doesn't smell right to me. Now I'm suspicious. Not sure how it ties in with the thief, or if it even does, but I don't like it. There's got to be some angle, and it can't be good. I've got my theories, but it's all guesses without more information."
She summarizes, then, concerns that the only motive she can think for the Cassalanters to gather a large crowd of the rich and poor is to sow "civil dissent," an attempt to rally a mob behind a particular idea, or against a particular political rival. Without proof, she reasserts, it's just her "best guess."
"I'd be onboard, Arlon," Briga agrees. "It sounds like they're being pretty open with their guest list. Not sure if it ties in with this bounty, could be a red herring, but I'd like to know more."
"I'm sure you could arrange it, I mean, it's beyond me, but you could find a way, I mean, they're pretty much holding a party for whoever arrives next week, Tuesday, same day as their kids' birthdays. Maybe they're just celebrating, though they've never held such a public party for a birthday before, even their own... I smell something off about it and probably gonna stay away, but that's me," he says as he continues his drink.
Tyrus, who is not part of this conversation, is still on the lookout for any strange reactions to the question put by the rest of the group (e.g., someone quickly leaving the establishment).
He is doing this for two reasons:
1. He is looking for anyone wanting to report the groups activities to someone else.
2. He thinks he's already blown his cover with the Cassalanters having been seen by the guards at the front gate and the servants, so he doesn't want to blow the cover of the others in the group be being seen associating with them.
So, he will be sitting in a corner watching over the room as the others do the talking. He will nurse one drink for the duration. How much does this cost?
