While this is going on, PantherNate is lurking about in the small hallway that we came from, the one right before the coffin room that also leads to the weapon storage room. He's scared more Redbrands are on the way and wants to guard this entrance, and he also noticed the girl look at him in a frightened way and doesn't want to scare her more than what she's already been through.
"Yes. These Redbrands have been terrorising Phandalin for too long. Harbin tasked us with their removal. He was unsure as to what had happened to the townsfolk taken by the thugs but has asked that we rescue all we can."
The family seem a little relieved at your words, though still obviously afraid. Could you... open the door? I think that man had the key. The older woman is still clutching the younger one's hands, but aims this question at Brom.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Delmon retrieves his maul once again, "Stand back and cover your ears. I'll attempt to smash the lock apart." Once the prisoner is ready, Delmon will swing his maul at the lock.
PantherNate hears the smashing of the lock and becomes even more nervous at this situation. He's going to go back to the entrance of the cavern (the room where Droop showed us the secret passage) as quiet as he can and see if he can get a jump-start sense of anyone coming and also get a sense if that creature is still lurking about. He'll creep up just to the cavern entrance, just slinking down low really quietly like a cat would.
Seeing how well her friends are doing at trying to smash the doors omnia shakes her head and says "here let me try" and she will try and pick the locks.
Ooc sorry forgot what type of check you need for this
Whilst Omnia is picking the lock, Leo will attempt to delicately approach the older lady and Nilsa.
"Begging your pardon, ladies. I believe introductions are in order. My name is Kae'leon, Leo for short." Leo turns to the younger lady, "If I am not mistaken your name is Nilsa and this is your mother?" Leo turns to the older lady.
"My companion here is just attempting to unlock the last cell. Would you permit me to ask a couple of questions about your captors in the meantime? There could be something of import that we need to know before attempting to remove these Redbrands."
Omnia can attempt to pick the lock. That's a d20, plus her DEX modifier, plus her proficiency bonus because she is proficient with thieves' tools. Make a second check if you want to unlock the cell with the boy in as well.
Leo, the woman stares at you. Just... please, just let us out of this cell. And my son, too. She seems traumatised and still wary of the party, and isn't willing to open up yet.
18
Pretty cat, says the voice in Nate's head.A good little pet. Yes. You were a good pet, weren't you...
Omnia, these are relatively simple locks, and your skill is easily enough to overcome them. It takes time to unlock the first cell, because it is somewhat broken out of shape, but you manage it nonetheless.
As soon as the first door is open, the woman pushes past you to grab the boy's hands through the bars. When the second door is open, the whole family stands in the centre of the room, hugging each other and weeping openly.
PantherNate is SUPER freaked out. He will attempt to 'speak' back to the creature (he can't see it, right?) basically thinking thoughts "Don't... don't worry. I am going to get you more food. More LIVE food. Please... I don't want any trouble. I will be right back."
PantherNate will then head back across the same bridge that we came on originally with Droop. He will do this as quietly but as speedily as he can and also on the lookout for Redbrands coming back as he makes his way back to the starting rooms. IF he does see/notice a Redbrand, he will immediately dart back the way he came and back into the coffin room. If no Redbrands or other enemies are there (with the exception of that creature of course), he will head back down into the Bugbear room, (the bedroom quarters if I recall?) and then hopefully the KO'd Redbrand is still there (4 hours yes? And I think Nate dragged him into the bedroom quarters earlier). PantherNate will bite onto the leg of him (gently) and drag the body back up the stairs and nudge it off down into the crevasse. He will then go back to the entrance of the secret tunnel room using the same bridge etc. and make his way back to the coffin room.

Will see what happens with all of this before proceeding further. I figured I'd make a few moves at once in this particular situation. Let me know if that is ok.
Nate, you accomplish everything you have stated above; you make it through the crevasse over the north bridge, drag the unconscious and badly wounded Redbrand to the crevasse, toss him in (probably killing him from the fall damage) and leave. There's no reaction from the creature, and no response to your messages - you're not certain it was able to receive them.
Sweet... ok PantherNate will quickly sneak back after he does this and continue guarding that secret passage room to make sure no Redbrands come for us. He basically will return back as far as he needs to until he stops hearing the voices. Likely in the far corner of the secret passage room.
"There.... that should keep him busy while we make our escape. I wonder if they have the prisoners free yet?" thinks PantherNate to himself as he watches out for Redbrands.
OOC: That was the KO'd Redbrand that PantherNate tossed into the ravine just now, right? Since I think we already tossed the bugbear down there.
Delmon tries his best to old it together, despite seeming brutish he is a mess with emotions, especially once display in such a manner. He clears his throat as he begins to say, "Uhm, sorry to interrupt.. we need to get moving. Can you tell us if there are others here who need rescuing? We haven't much time before more red brands show up." He moves to the exit of the room as he says this for two reasons; first, he can hide his emotions from the group by turning away from them, and second he can now keep an eye out for incoming threats.
Waiting a moment before interrupting the family's reunion. Leo approaches the older lady, "My companions and I shall escort you out of this place before we continue on... Any information you are able to provide on your captors in the meantime would be much appreciated."
PantherNate, sensing that there are simply no Redbrands coming, decides to morph back into Human Nate and go into the weapon storage room. He will grab a handful of spears (3) and then return to the coffin room and drop them on the floor. He then sees Delmon on guard and is surprised to see this brute tank of a man crying (or he thinks he sees him crying at least...) Nate then addresses the group:
"You you got the locks open! Guys... it doesn't look like any Redbrands are coming... yet. But... I went back to the cavern and that creature is definitely still there... aaaand I fed it another body so it should be busy for now. I suggest we get moving... right now. I brought some weapons for the prisoners too." (points to the spears)
Nate then addresses the 3 prisoners for the first time:
"There there...Don't worry... we are here to get you out. If any of you are able to defend yourself, there are some spears on the ground over there for you. If there are others in here you need to tell us where they are now."
Nate is not the most consoling person, but tries to send them a smile as he prepares to lead the group out through the coffin room, out the corridor and into the crevasse room.
Nate readies his new spear and grips it loosely with two hands and gets used to the weight of it. He feels it will suit him just fine.
Delmon, the woman looks at you gratefully. You'll take us from here? Home? Oh, thank you. No, we didn't see anyone else, though I think there have been many. She points to a pile of clothing lying near to one of the cells. She and the family keep hugging each other, but will allow themselves to be led away, if you choose.
She looks at Nate; Weapons? I... no, there's no need for... The young boy grabs a spear, and the woman gives a jolt of horror. Nars. Put that down. You'll injure yourself if...
The boy stubbornly keeps hold of the spear, and replies to his mother. They killed papa. They were going to kill us, or sell us as slaves. We have to defend ourselves.
The mother looks helplessly on as the daughter also grabs a spear. It's okay, mama, she says. We'll protect you. They won't take us again. I swear it. You hear real anger in the daughter's voice as she speaks. The family stands, looking at each other, seemingly unable to resolve this issue, until Nate interrupts and leads them through the passageways and to the large crevasse room and the entrance where you arrived.
(There are two main areas that you haven't explored yet. Back to the west, and north of where you found the Redbrands gambling, there was a door that you haven't opened yet. And here, from the crypt area, there is a large set of ornate double doors in the south-east of the room. It would take around fifteen minutes to escort the family back to the village and then return, if you wish to do that.)
With regards to Leo's insight check on Delmon: If Delmon wants to conceal his feelings, then he can roll a Deception check of 16 or above. Otherwise Xaipher, please write one or two sentences describing how he is feeling; these can be pretty brief and vague (Leo is not a mind-reader), but should be honest.
