"It might make sense to question these two separately. The goblin was being mistreated by these... beasts... he might be more willing to divulge information than the Redbrand."
Leo pauses, before continuing,"Having the Redbrand in the same room as him might cause him to remember his loyalties."
"Hmmmm... you're right Leo. Maybe if we wake the goblin up first and get everything out of him while the Redbrand is out... it might even help our cause with the goblin seeing the Redbrand KO'd."
Nate looks at the party, shrugs his shoulders, and then not thinking it through properly, proceeds to slap the goblin across the face a few times "Hey! Wake Up!"
Nate would've also checked the Bugbears to grab any coins for the party. He would let someone else check the room/beds/etc.
Delmon takes a seat as his rage subsides, the pain of his wounds really hitting him all at once now. "That was stupid of me.. ugh." He looks over to Nate, "I may just need a moment here." As he reaches for his potion and gulps it down.
Nate, make an Investigation check as you search the bugbears.
The goblin awakes at the slap. He looks at you all, gives a loud squeak of fright, and attempts to crawl into a corner of the room. He looks utterly terrified.
Nate, you find 33 silver pieces, and the bugbear leader's eyepatch - it has some jewels on it that might be real or might be glass, you're not sure if they're worth anything.
Nate snatches up the coins and then shows the eye patch to the party. "Guys - anyone seen anything like this before? It's pretty wild."
Nate then watches the goblin run into the corner of the room. He thought to himself he better let one of the others talk to him as Nate isn't the most charismatic type. The only thing he says to the goblin is: "It's ok little fella. We won't hurt you. Can you speak common?"
Delmon's bruises begin to fade away as most of his vicious cuts are healing quickly with the effect of the potion. "Nate, I owe you one. That potion was better then I imagined." Slowly making his way back to his feet, Delmon grunts as he stands. "Well, I do hope we don't meet another one of those any time soon." He says as he looks over to the bugbear. Seeing the goblin shy in a corner Delmon steps out of the room, just outside the door. "Don't want to further intimidate the fellow. Hope he has some insight on to what is going on down here." He turns his back to the room and stands next to the door, humming a tune to himself.

Watching as Nate attempts to communicate with the Goblin, Leo gives him a sly smile.
"Mind if I give it a go?"Leo says to Nate before turning to the Goblin and speaking fluently in it's language, [Goblin] "It's alright, we are not going to hurt you. Do you have a name? Who were these brutes that were mistreating you so?"
Nate, the goblin is paralysed with fear for a long time. Eventually, you see his mouth working and he manages to utter one word: Droop. His own voice seems to startle him and he leaps back, except he's already backed against the wall so he effectively throws himself into the wall, squeals in pain, and falls to the ground again. He in conscious, but in a trembling heap.
"No problem Delmon - remember I have one more if we do in fact end up meeting another one of those beasts. Let's see if Leo can get any info out of him. Ummmmm... did you know that he could speak goblin? I wonder what he is asking him..."
Nate awaits the goblin's response to Leo. "Droop" seems to mean nothing to Nate and he's going to let Leo speak goblin to him.

Brom would put his hand axes away and gave the room a once over he also grabs the bugbear leader weapon as well as any other weapons in sellable condition.

Leo approaches Droop placatingly, speaking softly in Goblin, "Droop, Droop is it? Why were these creatures abusing you Droop? Are you a servant.. or slave to them? Do you know this place well?"

Brom, you find one thing of interest beneath the bed where the leader was lying; a large iron key.
Brom holds up the iron key "found a key, Leo mind asking the goblin if they know where it goes? My bet is the dungeon"
Bromduhr, Goliath Fighter.
Leo, Droop the goblin takes his time to answer, his eyes darting from you to your companions. Finally he manages to speak:
I am a servant. And slave, yes. And toy. Am I your servant now? You killed Them... you are very powerful. Will you let me serve you?
"I think you may be able to help us Droop." Leo's voice softens, "... but not as a slave, as a helper, an assistant."
Leo gestures towards Brom, "My friend here found a key, do you happen to know what it opens?"
DM - The Call of Strahd (CoS); Feyrealm Campaign, Chapter 0 - Bleak Prospect (BP), Chapter 1 - Destination Unknown (DU)
"Wow, awesome Brom!"
Nate seems excited about the key and now joins Delmon just outside of the room as Leo continues to talk to the Goblin.
OOC: Is the goblin speaking common or goblin back to Leo?
