Leol manages to push through the crowd. The man next to Leol leers and punches his fist in the air with a cheer as the half-orc decks the tattooed man at the temple. The tattooed man returns to attack with a one-two punch to the half-orc's mid-section. The man next to Leol again cheers, this time for the opposing team. Both combatants have streams of blood trickling from their nose and lips. The tattooed man's friends are watching intensely, bobbing with their mate's steps and punches, obviously aching to join in but holding back for the moment.
Leol notices at this close distance, that tattoos on the men and one woman are eye-shaped with spokes radiating from the center.
With careful consideration and realizing that a tavern wide brawl does not appear to be breaking out Gryk makes sure his seat is far enough away to make sure he doesn't get dragged into involvement. He moves away from the fight and keeps his distance.
Daron sees the hit land and he stands suddenly interested to see a brawl breaking out. He grabs his quarterstaff almost on instinct and draws closer. It had been a while since he'd last fought, and if he could he'd join in on the brawl.
Kip raises an eyebrow toward Gryk, remaining behind as well while reaching for one of his new allies disregarded tankards. "Not interested in the sport are we?" he asks, taking a slug of ale. "I thought maybe you'd enjoy busting a few heads." Kip casts a quick glance over at Durnan, gauging the man's concern as the melee ensues, before his gaze comes to rest on the famed portal in the middle of the tavern. "Odd attraction, no?"

Daron gave Leol an interesting look when he said that he was eager to arrest the brawlers, which was an incredibly strange thing to say in Daron's opinion but who was he to judge. He knew people from all walks of life, seen criminals and lawmen all within the monastery living in harmony. Relatively at least. "I'd much rather join in than make any sort of arrests,"he said to Leol with a grin before drawing closer to the fight. Once near the front, he looked at the two fighting parties more closely.
"Pfft you should only fight when you have too, have some finesse some pride, besides its like 3 people thick that is a lot of asses I have to poke with my dagger" She takes another drink in the human-sized pint and giggles following her dip into food.
" Seriously it would be all asses and elbows. They can't even recognize us ya tall bastards!!!" Priscilla says in the end as she slams her eating knife into the table, sighs and then begins to eat.
Kip continues to eye the brawl with mild amusement, more intent on making sure it doesn't escalate into something more. "I'd have to agree. I'm not against a fight when needed, but I'd be hard pressed to find a reason to do so in a tavern without proper provocation. I assume it adds to the atmosphere," he quips.

The sound of Leol's voice in his head was strange, as though the elf was speaking right next to him when in fact they weren't that close together. He looked around confusedly for a moment, his eyes going to the elf and raising an eyebrow. He wasn't around magic often, so for it to be used so casually on him was a little strange, but he gave Leol a nod, acknowledging that he understood what he intended. Daron then turned his attention back to the fight, his grip tightening on his quarterstaff as if eager to get into the fray.
"Me? I spend my days breaking up these types of stupid fights at the bar I work at. I have no interest in getting myself involved in someone else's stupidity while trying to eat at another tavern. Let em duke it out and things will settle down again. Or I'm leaving."
Leol and Daron, you recognize the tattoo on each of the group of shaved-head individuals as the symbol adopted by a criminal gang in the city. It wasn't that long ago, that members of this gang were accused of various petty crimes around the city, and it seems this particular group has become more active in recent weeks.
Leol particularly has noticed this as he has picked up a job or two in which this information became apparent to him. He knows the group's name as 'Xanthar', but the officials, to Leol's knowledge, haven't been able to find a central leader or location. So far it seems Xanthar is a loosely tied group of bandits claiming the same symbol and running amuk in the city, according to the authorities.
For Daron's part, he has certainly noticed the symbol as graffiti in the dingier parts of the city more and more as of late. He probably does not know the name they are going by, but does know the reputation of the members at least through hear-say.
If Daron and Leol want to interfere, please roll initiative.
The rest of the party continue to enjoy relative peace at the table. Molly brings the halfling more cheese and bread and refills any empty tankards, though she keeps a wide berth around the fighting.
Daron -- recognizing the markings on the thugs from the sides of buildings and in alleyways -- narrows his eyes. He wasn't one to get involved in gang related scuffles, but things were different now. He was a different man with a new set of skills, and what good were those skills if he did not use them for the benefit of the people. Admittedly he could be doing more harm by jumping in, but by doing nothing he was inadvertently empowering those thugs; thus he decided to interfere.

"Ah!! Do it Krenz! Teach her a lesson!" the Xanthar criminals taunt from the sidelines as Krenz sends an upper cut to the half-orc's chin. Attack: Attack: 9 Damage: 2
However, the half-orc simply catches Krenz's fist and pushes him away. "Teach me a lesson in how to be weak are ya! Ha," she retorts.

The firey bolt slams into the shoulder and neck of Krenz, knocking the already wounded man to the ground. His unconscious form rallies his friends to attack. The four Xanathar members split. Two square off against the half-orc drawing their scimitars. One grabs Krenz from under the shoulders as if to drag him out, and the last Xanathar member searches for the source of the firebolt and spots Leol easily from his perch on a nearby table as the elf yells his warning. She draws her scimitar as well.
The half-orc, seeing the Xanathar members brandish their blades, frees her mace from its protective leather pouch at her waist. She swings it in a wide figure eight.
The crowd is now backing up hastily now that the fist fight has brought forth weapons and offensive magic. Some have decided the action is too much and are leaving, but some are caught up in the excitement and continue to cheer and taunt. Several new patrons have joined the onlookers as word has spread to the street of a fight brewing in the Yawning Portal.
The half-orc misses one criminal but the other takes a solid hit and is spun around by a crack to the head.
At this point, the owner, Durnan, stomps toward the ruckus and begins yelling, "Out!"
Summary: Krenz, the Xanathar lead member is unconscious. Xanathar 3 is grasping in him under the shoulders but has not moved yet. Xanathar 1: undamaged, facing off against the half-orc Xanathar 2: eyes are crossed and looking rough, facing off against the half-orc Xanathar 4 has locked eyes on Leol and has her scimitar drawn. Half-orc: wounded, but plenty of fight left in her.
