It doesn’t take long for the small group to reach the Overpass. In a small niche below it, you see a small tavern, nestled in almost as if it had grown here organically. It is ramshackle and reminds Milo of some of the dwellings he’s seen down at Roughneck corner. Upon entering, they are hit with the pungent combination of old sweat, spilled beer, and spicy meats. The tavern is rather full, predominantly with working dwarves, but a few goblins, orcs and half-orcs are in the mix as well. A very bad band is playing a butchered version of Corti’s hymn, and in a far corner, an armwrestling competition is going on.

Milo raises an eyebrow at Corti after listening to the band “We night have to give them a lesson once business is over.” Walking over to the head tavern keeper. “Evening, looking for some food and some private rooms for the evening.” As he puts ten gold pieces down on the counter. “We got some musicians as well if you wanted something a little more practiced at some point in the night.”
Corti grins in response to Milo, "Sure thing," and then follows a little ways behind him, flashing her lute at the barkeep as means of proof of Milo's words.

As some of the Orcs notice the Cannith livery on Arc’s coat, a hushed silence falls upon the room, and even the band stops playing, as some of the patrons are whispering “Shit, it’s management!” and “What’s the boss doing here?”
Milo’s question on the other hand is met with a hearty chuckle from the bar keep: “Food an’ale we got plenty, but this is the only room I got, ain’t nothin’ but the ol’Overpass around. Music would be nice tho, them lot is better at hittin’ faces than notes!”

Arc follows behind the party and looks at everyone reacting to him entering, but does pay them attention. Any action taken towards them could risk adding or taking away from the current talks with the strike organizers, and there's no reason to do that over a few loudly spoken whispers. Besides, he was used to it.
Milo annoyed at the prospects of not having a quiet place to conduct business looks at the bartender. “How much you look to profit on a night like tonight?”
Thia just leans on the bar while Milo tries his negotiation tactics. She’d tap her foot, patiently waiting. Still thinking my dorm would have been better... but maybe it’s not up to Milo’s hoity toity standards. Thia would look to the Cannith. He didn’t strike her as a complete pompous *******, considering. Not even a touch compared to her interactions with Milo. Sure he carried himself as an important individual, but he showed shame. She actually sympathized with him, not like Milo at this point.
"Not really run on or for profits, this place. 's a community meetin' place, for the workers. They fix up the bar an' me room above free of charge, but I give 'em ale an' stew for free. The only currency that counts here is reputation." WIth that, the barkeep who was speaking with Milo looks at Corti, and with a flash of recognition adds "Like, this one 'ere, she's alright. We know'er. But you sirs," said to Milo and Arc, "we don't know you. Don't mean we ain't gonna treat you rite, but jus' cus you's is rich, don't mean we treat ya any different. If you wanna pay fer yer drinks, I won't stop ya, but I can't give ye any rooms."

Milo’s frustration has been building to this point and it’s just about to boil over. He just turns away from the tavern keeper and lights his pipe. Throwing his hands up in the air while speaking to the group “This has been the most inefficient evening of my life in some time, if you want to conduct business here that’s fine by me.” Looking defeated and to Corti “if you want to vouch for me, that would be great, tell them about the speech; they also might be interested in my plans with Mrs. Ling to provide infrastructure for clinics, schools, and affordable safe housing during the construction of Mr. Spark’s endeavor. If not, that’s fine, I have ceased to care at this point.” Milo takes a long drag on his pipe.
Percy says nothing and places down a gold coin, on the counter, "Will this do for a drink." It was less of a question than it was a statement and a peace offering so they could move on. As Milo had said, much of the evening had already been wasted.
"Alright, alright." Corti moves past Milo and next to Arc, "Hello there," she says, giving the barkeep a proper greeting before continuing, "We understand. We'll just grab some food, maybe play a tune or two and be on our way." She turns back to the group, "We may as well get started with the less tentative stuff here." she says, leading the group to a table in a less populated area, if possible, "If we still need somewhere after that, I believe Thia's dorm is still an option?" she says the last to Thia.

Arc gives a nod as he sits himself, "You are the host for this meeting more or less, though I've mostly wanted to express my apologies to you. And pleasure to meet you Mrs. Thia." Finally acknowledges Thia and gives her a small head bow.
"Ah, right. Pardon me. I am Arcius Soranik Raddeus Canith the 2nd, though I ask that you call me Arc, as it's much easier and keeps things short." Gives a small polite smile to Thia, "I apologize for me and my family's rudeness and lack of manners today. It's been....trying, as of late."
“Pleasure, Arc.” Thia would return a smile with another nod. “There’s nothing to apologize to me about.” She’d look to Corti. She’s sympathetic and kind. Thia admired how Corti handled herself. She’d smile to her before looking back to Arc. “Though I can’t deny that I’m disappointed I didn’t get the opportunity to pick, your uncle was it? His brain. The things one could learn from his knowledge and experience... It’s a shame none of our words could convince him otherwise.” Thia would shrug.
She’d take a moment to reflect back to how Arc interacted with his uncle, and his pause just now with the word ‘trying’. As that hung in the air, Thia would wonder aloud “He’s not always of sound mind... is he?” She’d sit back in her seat, thinking back to her apprenticeship; her old patients with damaged minds from the war.
Arc stiffens slightly, but otherwise betrays nothing, "He's fine. Just hasn't been out in a while, not to mention all the work that has him being tired half of the time. If you wished to discuss science with him, might I take it you're a engineer? Wizard?....no, judging by the aroma about you, I'd surmise you're more involved with chemical concoctions. An alchemist?" Arc leans in curiously inspecting Thia. It's obvious he share's his Uncle's trait of curiosity and lack of personal space when under it.

Accepting their new partner Milo will also quip, “wealth gaps bring their own complications as well.”
Raising his head once Corti responded to his apology, Arc sighs and follows along.
Thia would roll her eyes over the wealth quip, that’s a gap we’re all frequently reminded of. She’d follow along with Corti and the Cannith.
