Abraxas heads to the Laughing Rhino. He buys himself a bed for the night. late into the night, he writes in his journal about the events in this world. In the morning, he will review his spell book one last time, look for the party, and join with them and Mitsi to teleport to the moon!
On the way, he shares all the information he's gathered about life on the moon and buys extra water.
Jove would like to purchase an amulet of Gabrielle. He tucks it into his shirt, out of sight.
Jove is giving a Harmony a standing ovation after her performance. He will pay for his night at the Laughing Rhino, purchasing a large room.
Additionally, he would like to hear all about Abraxas's information. He would also like to call a team meeting in the morning in his room, as it should be the biggest.
"If you all don't mind. I'd like to meet with you all tomorrow morning about our plan to stop all of this. We need to exchange information and learn what is really going on. We also need to formulate a plan that builds off of all of our strengths."
OOC: To keep us moving along, I'll assume Olive is also staying at the Laughing Rhino. 1 gold piece has been removed from Abraxas, Olive, and Jove's inventories for the night at the inn. 5 gold pieces have been removed from Jove's inventory and his holy symbol has been added.
Be aware that sleeping in the streets or in the wilderness does carry its own consequences, as living a "Wretched" lifestyle presents abundant dangers. From the PHB, "Violence, disease, and hunger follow you wherever you go. Other wretched people covet your armor, Weapons, and Adventuring Gear, which represent a fortune by their standards. You are beneath the notice of most people." It definitely makes sense for a ranger like Aisha, but I just want to provide fair warning that it will make things like gathering information in a city more difficult, because less people will trust you.
How many potions of healing does Harmony wish to buy?
Harmony Performance: 27
Harmony holds the crowd in the palm of her hands throughout the night. Coupled with her unique looks (at least on this world), and her foreign music, she enthralls the city and the inn throughout the afternoon and night. She quickly becomes the talk of the packed inn, and it seems some have already linked her to rumors of the Ice Basilisk as well. The dwarf running the establishment readily provides her free lodging and food for the night.
Olive hunts for her own food throughout the day, finding a plethora of game in the rolling plains surrounding the city. The wildlife is not unlike that on Toril; hares, elk, and buffalo roam outside of the nearby farmland.
The party meets in Jove's room the next morning to discuss the next steps.
(OCC: 2 potions if she has to pay full price for them, wasn't sure if especially with a performance that good and having enthralled the city, she might have been able to get some at a lower cost. If she can get them for cheaper, then she would buy 3 potions.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC- Aisha is fine with this risk. Between Aisha's perception and her ability to read lips with her feat (Observant).... She doesn't need to engage though she enjoys 'engaging'. Besides, it's only for a single night! and I did forget to mention but the panther and Aisha will take turns on watch when she's alone like this. Plus I feel her background will negate that sort of like advantage and disadvantage just means normal.
Far Traveler
Feature: All Eyes on You
Your accent, mannerisms, figures of speech, and perhaps even your appearance all mark you as foreign. Curious glances are directed your way wherever you go, which can be a nuisance, but you also gain the friendly interest of scholars and others intrigued by far-off lands, to say nothing of "everyday folk" who are eager to hear stories of your homeland.
You can parley this attention into access to people and places you might not otherwise have, for you and your traveling companions. Noble lords, scholars, and merchant princes, to name a few, might be interested in hearing about your distant homeland and people.
But its up to you in the end :) and will accept whatever comes of it. I'll bathe later, I promise!
Since apparently nothing happened the night before, Aisha wakes up, just around the same time as the sun begins to rise. Making her way into the inn, her hair a little frazzled at the tips, but somehow mostly holding it's shape from the day before. Her lids were half open but she was fully awake. Keeping her ears perked if anyone was saying anything about her in the Inn, if they were speaking low, watching their lips (Perception if needed: 15) as well as if anyone was aware of what their group would be doing.
OOC - Unless aisha suffers some negative from her wretched lifestyle, the below is what she would do next. otherwise ignore below, and I will respond as needed.
Potential B: otherwise, she would settle into the room, wit ha yawn that started normal, but squealed cutely as it stretched on. Morrning all... she would say, once everyone was assembled. So.. From what Aisha hears, we need to go to this worlds moon. To save it from some impending doom. To do so.. we need to fight the red lizards, who are somehow tied in with the bad dieties? I am not sure how these two connect... but the short and long is we need to beat the lizards, right to stop it, rrright? Seems simple enough. Aisha also heard of some hunt going on.. purrhaps we can bring back a trophy with us.. Though.. I will need one of you to carry it.. Oh, this one apologizes... She is speaking over you.. Sorry.
From what I understand. We were all chosen by gods of this realm to come here and basically stop the end of the world. Gabrielle chose me, Harmony, and Abraxas. Olive was chosen by Yuloss. Iz was chosen by Kayel. Aisha was chosen by Ginan."
(OOC: I am not sure what we are going to do about Iz? I hate to see her character go. I really liked her :(. )
He makes sure no one is looking into our room through the window or anything. He closes the curtains if he can. "I have this." He pulls out a black sphere about the size of a softball. There is a lemniscate on the top, the sign of infinity. On the bottom, there is a section chopped off, so it would sit on a table correctly. A light blue light emits from this chop.
"This is my spellcasting focus. I have used it all of my life and it answers most of my questions. I don't understand how, but apparently it comes from this realm. That is how Gabrielle grabbed us from Toril."
"I am guessing the Orb of the Magi would be similar to this one. It might hold a similar power to transfer worlds."
"Here is my plan. It probably sounds crazy. (OOC: It might actually be crazy! Feel free to poke holes in it!) The gods here have been forbidden from intervening with the world, AKA they can't do anything against the end of the world. But, we all know there is a thread somewhere that connects to Toril. What if we took some of Toril's gods, that have no such obligation, and have them help us save the world."
"Gabrielle mentioned Gruumsh and Maglubiyet, so they have to know of those gods. And I don't think we need a super powerful one like Lathander. A minor god would be sufficient, as no other gods can interfere; he/she would be a force to be reckoned with."
"Abraxas could be our researcher. I am apparently tied pretty closely to the gods here, so I could be our religious ambassador. Perhaps Harmony could be in charge of rallying some troops or followers, as a deity's power comes from how many followers they have. I am not particularly clear on how the others could help, but I think seeking that information from Yuloss, Kayel, and Ginan would be a good starting point."
The entire time, Jove has his familiar clenching onto the holy symbol. Hopefully Gabrielle is watching and will give us a sign if it sounds like a good plan. Maybe it lights up or burns or something.
Aisha cocks her head slightly to the side, pouting cutely, as she places her clawed index finger to her bottom lip Who is 'Iz'? she thinks to herself as the name is mentioned, before saying as much aloud, her eyes locked to Jove's as she asked the first questions that came to her mind. And who is Ginan? the one who summoned me? it was not the Cat-lord of this one's peoples? .... As for asking other deities for help... whether it is due to the spellplague, or whether it has always been so.. there is a sort of rule that beings with the strength of devils, demons, fiends, and deities are forrbidden from meddling in the affairs of mortals, though the exact details Aisha cannot remember. This one is not saying that is not possible.... but.. It is unlikely. Aisha says with an apologetic shrug, and a soft smile But again, not impossible. They may not be bound by such rules involving other worlds, Aisha just doesn't wish you to get your hopes up. Howeverr we can try to do as you say, and if it doesn't work? atleast we will not be dissappointed~
Then, going back to what he said about his focus This one does agree that it is likely the magi orb is similar in structure, however, the question of it's power and purpose are still in the air. Aisha doubts it will be so easy~ as that. There is always a nuance, a trick, something we have nyot been told... etcetera...
"I like the the thinking behind your plan, Jove," Abraxas says, "and I'd heartily endorse it if we had consistent access to Toril. Had we that, we might try reaching out to the divinities there. Fickle being though they are, they might help, perhaps. But they'd likely want service before." He's been squeezing one the the books from his bag, almost trying to twist it. "What about Mitsi's suggestion that we teleport to the moon and get the orb there? If we recover that artifact and also divert the river from our collective vision, won’t that prevent or slow the destruction?”
Harmony had so much fun last night, performing for the people of the city and at the inn too, almost feeling like she was back on Toril again doing her normal daily routine. She did feel her magic grow a little stronger and sensed that if she ever wants to, she could use her fey magic to make people do as she wishes. She woke up the next morning, remembering that they have to go to the red moon Vandyr today as she got dressed and then met up with the others in Jove's room. She listened to Aisha, nodding to confirm everything that the other was asking before Jove pulled out his orb and talked about how the orb of the magi must be similar to his with being able to transfer worlds. Soon he explained his plan about having Toril's god help them since this world's gods can't do anything to help, talking about roles each of them can do. Harmony grinned as he said that she could rally some troops or followers, nodding back. "Really? Yay, I wasn't sure how useful I could be compared to all of you, but I could gladly do that! Sounds like a good plan to me!" she had said back to him with a big smile. But then Aisha mentioned that due to the spellplague, there is likely a rule forbidding gods from meddling in mortal affairs but they could always try and see if it works somehow. Then Abraxas mentioned that it would be great if they had consistent access to Toril and if they reach out to the deities, then they would want their service before they would help. He suggested that they go to the moon and get the orb, how if they also divert the river while doing that, it would prevent or slow the destruction. "Yeah, that makes sense. We need to divert the river to stop the lizards and the destruction while getting the orb will help us to get more information so we can work to stop the bad deities. I believe that is called, 'Hitting two birds with one stone'?" Harmony had said back with a giggle, believing that was how the saying goes and agreeing with Abraxas's plan.
"All good points. I do think getting the orb, or orbs possibly, is the best first step for whatever plan we enact. Perhaps we could also get a geologist or something to examine the orbs we find. If mine is from this world, perhaps the others could be from Toril? Maybe it is made of some rock that is common on Toril but not on this world? I am getting ahead of myself, I suppose. Let's go get that orb back."
Aisha clears her throat, though after a moment its obviously just that and not an interruption or interjection. Indeed. Let us get some breakfast before e head out, to save our rrrations for now. And then let us be on our way? The early cat catches the mouse, yes? she said with some more enthusiasm as her excitement was building for this to start. Sure, she was initially frustrated at having been brought away from her prior discovery, but her wanderlust was kicking in once more, the link between her and her peoples patron fueling it.
And yes.. that would be a good idea.. Aisha is suprrrised she did not think of it herself!
If no one disagrees about a quick meal before heading to the teleporter, Aisha will head down to eat, and then, from there (after feeding her panther half ~) heading to wherever the teleporter was located, which she assumes is the Guild, though if not, she will follow someone elses lead to where it is. A bounce in her step, but light on her feet. (Stealth for flavor: 22)
Jove watches as Aisha spings about stealthily. "Oooo. I like your style, cat. Watch this."
He casts minor illusion in the corner of the room and forms a large chest. He goes down and squats in it. Then pokes his head through the top. "I use magic tricks to do stuff like that. There is quite a merit to being stealthy due to your natural abilities." Then sinks back down into the chest until they are ready to head off.
There are a few obvious curious glances thrown your way throughout the morning, but Aisha does not notice any that linger too long. The city of Ruskivek is bustling again today, the light drizzle not enough to relegate the populace to their homes.
Mitsi is not at her desk when you reach the Order of Thalassa. Instead, a young catlike humanoid woman is in her place. "Follow me," she purrs after cross-checking your names in her notes, and leads you to a basement with a half dozen doors. Opening one, she motions to the teleportation circle inscribed onto the floor. "When you are ready, step in, and you will be on Vandyr. The ziggurat where the Orb was last seen is a half a day away to the east," she explains.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Aisha chuckles at Jove's creativity, though offers a compliment and a jab at the same time. Indeed, you are trricky.... in the same way that Melody's voice carries through the wall like an angels hymn. As to-the-point as Abraxas is, and as quiet as Olive seems to be (OOC - Since she hasn't heard much from Olive, yet) I can see it being verrry effective should we need to ambush another.... Though it lacks something sorely. Mobility~ She coo's cutely, even as she attempts to accentuate her point. Her body arching backwards, almost totally reaaching the ground before one of her legs goes up (Acrobatics: 25) sinuously .. perfectly.... and just a tad sensually rotates backwards onto her hands into a handstand, before rolling back to her feet, as if her body was meant to move that way... And through it all.. not a noise was made. T'savi huffing at her Mistress' showing off.
As they head to Order Hall, Aisha's fur a little more pressed against her flesh. While ruining the soft, silky look of her body, it began to emphasize the visible curves of her frame as the fur matted just a bit more every few minutes until they reached their destination. Walking in with that same 'bounce' and silence. T'savi barely making any herself. The door creaking open just a bit. Aisha didn't mind the attention she had drawn. In fact she loved it. Not even so much in a vain sense, but to her, it meant she was someone worth looking at, and it made her feel beautiful. A smile crested her lips as she approached the counter.
Seeing the 'catlike' humanoid... Aisha attempted to determine if she was seeing another Tabaxi, or if it was something else entirely (Add whatever modifier applies: 9)
Though she wouldn't press the issue, she wanted to sate her curiosity for now.
After which, she would spin deftly, looking at the entire party with her one eye. her hair no longer beautiful as it had been before, weighed down by water, making it flat, and straight against her head as she said No time like the prrresent, yes? staying only long enough to hear the 'catlike' beings words, before leaping upon the Circle, T'savi following close behind.
Once there, Both Aisha and T'savi duck low, Aisha Drawing her bow, and looking around (Perception: 21) Trying to make sure the area they came in at was safe, even as her and her pet stealthed as best as they could if at all possible.
Jove says. "Well. There goes our element of surprise." And steps onto the portal as well. He readies an eldritch blast for any hostilities that may be on the other side.
Abraxas shifts his shoulder bags, considers his spells, and steps through the portal. He readies mage armor to trigger if he sees unsheathed blades or other signs of hostility on the moon.
(OOC: I thought I had corrected the name.. oops sorry melody. I had put it then I must have, in editing swapped it. I'll just refer to you as Harmony, for sake of ease. Also how did we lose surprise? I got a 15/16 stealth! I jumped into the portal 'before' getting to the moon! lol)
While the catlike woman bears some resemblance to Toril's tabaxi, there are stark differences. You have seen many others of her kind around Ruskivek, as they dominate the population. It is likely that these folk are a different race, though they could share a lineage.
OOC: In RL terms, it's like seeing an animal on a different planet that looks like a cat, but doesn't look like any species of cat you've seen before.
You emerge in a stone structure surrounding the receiving end of the teleportation circle. The air is immediately warmer, stifling. A single door made of iron is the only exit to the building, and you exit to the moon Vandyr.
Craggy, barren red rock greets you, as far as the eye can see. Steam rises occasionally from holes in the ground. The sky is a light green haze, and the air smells thickly of sulfur. While there is no immediate danger present, shadowy forms occasionally fly through the air far in the distance.
Though the vague directions given to you by the woman at the Order of Thalassa point you eastward, a strange compulsion to travel north tugs at you.

(OOC: It's Harmony, not Melody. lol.)
Jove says.

Death on the Water and Baldur's Gate Bodyguard
Olive shrugs after seeing Aisha's display and walks into the portal. I guess that's just how the Tabaxi do things. She thinks to herself.

(OOC: I thought I had corrected the name.. oops sorry melody. I had put it then I must have, in editing swapped it. I'll just refer to you as Harmony, for sake of ease. Also how did we lose surprise? I got a 15/16 stealth! I jumped into the portal 'before' getting to the moon! lol)
Occassional Dungeon Master.
OOC: It's Harmony ;)
