Harmony listened as Fritjof told them about how they drove out a band of goblin bandits from the sewers, finding a map that had a river going south to a place called Xagafell. His sister left with her friends, trained wizards and recent graduates of the academy, believing that the map leads to something worth something. But they hadn't been heard from in so long, his superiors not letting him go and the militia being too slow. She then heard Jove in her head talk about how the fate of the world is more important than his sister, questioning if they know anything about the academy or Xagafell and if that river is the one from their vision. Abraxas soon told Mitsi all about this orb and everything that had happened while on Vandyr. She was surprised to hear Mitsi explain that the Orb of the Magi changes properties based on its location, that on Vandyr expanded the heat that was already there to dry the area entirely while here, it would improve the fertility of the land and ward against unnatural storms. So they were right to bring this orb back here, having succeeded in recovering the Orb of the Magi along with uncovering it's properties. Each of them is getting 200 gold pieces and Abraxas is now a scribe, having access to the libraries and resources of the Order. "Thank you very much." Harmony had said as she got her reward, hearing that Mitsi believes that the compulsion to go north must be related to the Dune Sea, a great sea of water until it recently dried up completely. Is that the location where they saw the lizards in the vision. Fritjof asked if they will help his sister now, thinking. "I think that Dune Sea might be what we saw in the vision. But I would feel bad if we don't help Fritjof find his sister though." Harmony had whispered to the others, wanting to go help but wasn't sure if her friends would want to do the same as well.
Jove says. "Slow down, guard boy. We have some questions before we look for your poor adult mage of a sister and her very capable newly graduated friends. The gods know she would be nothing without her brother."
He turns to Mitsi. "So, Why would the orb be taken to some dry wasteland? What creatures benefit it there?"
Abraxas is listening carefully, but he also sharpens his best quill with one of the daggers he uses as a bookmark. Once the quill is needle sharp, he opens his best ink pot. He sniffs the ink for a moment--its fragrance is beautiful to him--and then begins filling out the paperwork Mitsi gave him.
Fritjof is positively flustered. "Don't treat this lightly, if they were alright they would have sent word by now!" he says before raking his hands through his blonde mop and pacing back and forth.
"Who can say?" Mitsi answers Jove, "Nagas are not exactly talkative creatures. And...the Captain may come off a bit peckish, but it might be worth it to consider him. A tenday ago, a scribe reported that a druid circle she traded with in that region spoke of something stirring up the owlbears in the woods nearby. I know you have a lot on your plate, but your reputation has already grown. You know how rumors grow; the Ice Basilisk was the subject of rumor for quite some time before mysterious strangers appeared and 'slew' it."
OOC: Jove will go with whatever you all want to do. He has no room for impatience, which is why he snapped at the guard. He was hoping that would stop him from interrupting the whole fate-of-the-world conversation us and Mitsi were having.
"Your forms were most satisfying, Mitsi," Abraxas says. "It was a joy to complete them." He presents them back to her, having carefully allowed the ink to dry completely on each and having matched his handwriting to that of the forms perfectly. "I am honored to join your order and become a scribe. Are there dues I can pay? A sigil or ring to signify that I've joined?" Abraxas is glancing toward the door of the library.
"The world then seems safe, or safe enough, that we are going to help this captain's sister? We'd be helping her and the world by saving it, if it still needs saving." He looks thoughtful. "Is there anything in our library that might help?" he asks Mitsi.
"The world's not going to end because we took some time to help a man's sister. And besides, Mitsi just told us about something in the area that's got the owlbears acting up, so we might be killing two birds with one stone."

"Dues?" Mitsi chuckles, "You will certainly fit in. This is our symbol. You can wear it as openly as you'd like. There is much in our library. On this floor alone there are a multitude of topics and theories."
She hands Abraxas a small pin of a tome surrounded by floating moons.
OOC: 200 gold pieces have been added to each character's inventory. An Order of Thalassa symbol has been added to Abraxas's inventory.
Action is entirely on the party. As a reminder, here are your current leads:
The Annual Vandyr Hunt: A flyer mentioned the Annual Vandyr Hunt, sponsored by Mayor Cheval. Sign-ups are located at the Fiend's Forge in Ruskivek.
Apocalyptic Visions: You shared a vision from Gabrielle of a ritual led by scaled creatures on Vandyr that led to the destruction of the world. The vision showed a river being diverted to the location of the ritual that prevented the destruction.
The Ruins of Xagafell: A captain of the city guard has come to you seeking information on the whereabouts of his sister and her wizard companions. They were last seen heading for a place called Xagafell, south of Ruskivek, and have not been heard from in four tendays.
Abraxas is still haunted by the apocalyptic vision the group shared, but has agreed to help the captain by visiting Xagafell. He gets up very early the next morning, wears the pin Mitsi gave him proudly, and enters the library, intent on investigating Xagafell: 11
He will share everything he learns with the party as soon as he can. Once he's done that, he starts south, towards the ruins.
"Olive and Aisha," he says as he goes, "rather than increasing the speed of your actions, I'll try slowing the actions of our foes next time. That way fatigue shouldn't be a problem as our next battle ends."
True to Mitsi's word, the Order of Thalassa has a wealth of information within the libraries on the first floor alone, including an entire room dedicated to journals and histories of Rikirta and the Ruskivek region. Abraxas notes a crate full of the journals found beneath the Ice Basilisk being sorted in this room, and spends the day seeking information on Xagafell.
Most scribes within the order are unfamiliar with the word, and its mentions within history are very sparse, but he does find some information. First, a mention of an underground kingdom called Xagafell constructed of orange brick that now lies in ruins. This journals speaks of evil bestial creatures nesting within its many chambers. Then, in a journal written by a nobleman, he finds mention of ruins' use by the Imperial Guard of Ruskivek, who would drag adulterers into the ruins to be whipped to death.
OOC: With Abraxas's rest and research time, there are at least 2 days of downtime for everyone else. Is there anything that the others would like to do in Ruskivek before setting off for Xagafell, or anything further that Abraxas would like to do?
Are Abraxas's friends allowed to research as well? (If not, perhaps Mitsi could give an honorary pass to search the library, since the group itself brought back the orb, not just Abraxas.)
If so, he would like to research familiar sounding names. Garbielle mentioned Grummsh and [the goblin god whose name escapes me]. I don't believe they exist in this world, but maybe they have some mention? If a day is spent doing that with no dice (hehe), He will research different ways to contact Gabrielle/what her favorite offerings are. Depending on their price, he may purchase a few of these offering items.
Abraxas would argue persuasively on Jove's behalf. If Jove is comfortable, Abraxas would call him a research assistant and ask Mitsi that he be admitted as well.
Since Harmony would not be really helpful with research, she would be doing what she always does, performing for the people of Rusikivek with her songs and dance. She would hope to earn some more gold for her and the others through this as well.
