Mid-spring is always something the people of Red Larch await with fervent trepidation.
It is a time of renewal and a time for the younger adults to take their vows and propose to their love. It is also a time for giving and the town has taken the habit of giving away free food to travelers and locals alike. The bakers and cooks try to outdo each other.
The streets are full with colorful drapes hanging from windows and sweet smell of food.
It is late afternoon and the streets are full. Stalls line the houses. Music and laughter can be heard from most places and spill into the streets.
You are, now that you have done your respective chores, free to do as you please.
You have a few hours before the big celebration begins. After the new vows are taken the procession will head northof town and Bryon will light the huge bonfire waiting there. It is costumary for people to throw something in the fire that they have build in the past year.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Joshua will be walking around getting free food, and any stalls with particularly good food he will play a little near the stall to encourage potential customers. (performance if needed 16 (if advantage from Talon helping or something 7) looks like I didn't need Talon's help. But Joshua would still enjoy performing with him)
Talon would bounce around near Joshua, excitedly flapping his his wing-like arms as he gobbles up food from the various stalls. Holding on to his wooden hat with one hand, he would tilt his white feathered head backwards and drop the sweats into his open beak. "Thank you" The kenku would announce after every snack in the voice of father Bryon. After wiping a few crumbs form his beak, Talon would stand nearby and watch as the bakers and cooks prepare their meals in the hopes of learning a few new recipes to show father Bryon later. While watching the the craftsman work their stalls and mentally cataloging every step of the process, Talon would be bobbing and dancing like many of the young children had done before to the music his friend Joshua was playing nearby. Every now and then the kenku's hand would quickly move to his side to make sure his rod was still safely tucked in his belt before continuing his dance.
Never one to pass up good food, especially breads and pastries, Hoyle will wander the town following his nose to the best treats. When coming across Joshua and Talon, he will stop and listen to the music, while peering curiously at Talon.
Arric will spend the time heading around the festival just checking up on people that had come to the Sanctuary for healing to make sure they were doing better, and eating a few snacks along the way. If anyone gets injured he’ll probably go help them out.
Tait checks a small wooden hawk that he has worked on for the last two months. The hawk was perched in a tree just outside of his family's home two months ago. The majesty of the bird struck Tait and impressed itself on his mind. He has worked on it when he could since then making sure each detail was correct and polishing the carving into smooth perfection. It is his finest work to date, and he looked forward to casting it into the bonfire this evening.
His grandfather tells him to go and enjoy the festival. He runs along looking for people he knows and grabbing some free food along the way. He sees Joshua and Talon performing and smiles. Spotting Hoyle he starts to walk to join him when he spots Arric. Walking up to Arric, he'll say, "Arric is so good to see you! Want to join Hoyle over there watch Joshua and Talon? Those two crack me up! Come on, you can take a break for a few minutes."
If Arric declines, he'll ask one more time, but after that respect his wishes. He'll then walk up and stand beside Hoyle giving him a friendly nudge and a nod in greeting and watch Joshua and Talon's performance.
Klaus is currently walking around about the festivities with his younger sister Evelyn. Enjoying food and laughter and speaking to visitors about their travels, eventually hearing the tune of a familiar performer and heads over to where he knows he will find Joshua and possibly even Talon. "Amazing as always Joshua! You sure know how to attract the crowd!" Seeing Talon near by as well "You seem to be enjoying yourself as well friend. Make sure to keep an eye on that beautiful rod!" Klaus says in a jest knowing how particular the white feathered individual is about it and how upset it made him when that punk Thomas Greylock stole it from him that one time.
"Hullo Tait, it's nice to see you. What a glorious day it is!", says Hoyle, as he continues to watch Talon. He has always enjoyed the beauty and mannerisms of birds, they are such fascinating creatures. "What are you up to today, Tait? Did you trying one the scones at Lorren's Bakery? They are so yummy!"
Hoyle giggles after hearing Klaus mention Talon's beautiful rod...
"Beautiful Rod!" The Kenku would mimic back to Klaus in his own voice with a wink.. but not before quickly checking to make sure the rod was still in his belt. Talen would then wave to his friends before approaching them and after reaching his claw-like hands into his robes, pulling out and offering each of them a few pieces of candy he had grabbed from the nearby stalls. "Free treats!" "Fee Treats!" he would say in the voice of the female vendor a few yards away that you can see is handing out the candy.
Joshua takes a short break from singing without pausing on the lute. "Thanks Klaus. Hope you like it, it's a new song I have been working on, I'm throwing the music in the fire later". The music builds up to a fast finish and then he stops. "Nice hint Hoyle, I'm going to try those scones. New performance at Lorren's Bakery in half an hour"
Klaus takes two of the treats that Talon presents, handing one to his sister "Thank you Talon, much appreciated!". Looking over to Joshua, "Definitely, I'll probably stop by at your next performance over at the bakery, Evelyn here loves scones."Enjoying his time with his friends, Klaus never forgets what his father told him. Keep one ear to whoever you are engaged with but always keep the other open to your surroundings for at the first sound of trouble those who react first could be the deciding factor in the difference between life and death, for themselves and others. Also he currently had his sister with him and if anything bad happened to her, his parents would be furious!

Arric sees Tait walk up and invite him to listen to Joshua and Talon and says, “Sure! I’ll listen for a bit, but I want to go check out Martin Greymin to see if he’s feeling better now.”
(Martin has eaten some poisonous berries a bit ago, and Arric has helped cure him)
Arric is looking for anyone that might need a hand to carry something or bandage a child’s scrape.
As the group of friends gathers and laughs a hush comes over part of the crowd.
Whispers spread like wild fire and the rumor of a important guest abound. The mayor Goodwealth walks through the throng, clasping shoulders and shaking hands. He seems rather pleased with himself. There is almost a certzin **** in his steps.
Joshua is rather certain that the rumor and the timing have been expertly manufactured.
You all hear the name Sunfield, an important family from waterdeep.
Questions arise around you in not so hushed tones.
"But what could they be doing here? Which of the family is here ? Are they already here "
Talon would turn to the nearby stall vendor and repeat "Sunfield?" While tilting his head to the side and shrugging his shoulders "Who is Sunfield" The kenku would mimic in a mixture of voices hoping to get an answer from the townsfolk.
A large man, not one you recognize, smiles at Talon.
" You would have to be a regular in Waterdeep or at least a merchant in thos part to know about them. The Sunfield are a very rich and prosperous family who have been dealing in magical items for a long time. They seem to have decided to make trade with the new dwarven kingdom to the North."
The man moves forward into the crowd.
