Does it seem like the walls are soft enough, that I could perhaps tie the end of my rope to an arrow and shoot into the opposite wall, creating an anchor?
If not, perhaps someone strong has a staff or polearm that they could extend into the pit and give Talon something to grab for?
Is Talon falling within pushing distance? To be pushed into the gem and then push back off the wall?
Also, if it looks like Talon is falling fast enough that leaving the area would hurt him from falling, and that once receiving the gem it looks the same, Joshua will get his scroll of feather fall ready to cast as he leaves the zone that magic stops being effective
Talon is falling like he jumped. So to make it clear the momentum is there. So when he reappears he is farther from the gem than he originally was intending.
But he can bounce of the walls.
À long staff could, eventually, be useful for him to grab.

It takes longer than expected but through tries and trial you all manage to push Talon toward the gem.
Once Talon's hands are on the gem you feel power seeping away from your being. It is a trickle and it doesn't hurt but your spell slots begin to ebb away.
As Talon is propelled towards the gem as he continues to fall, he would grab the as he falls past. Feeling the gem pull the magics from him, he would let out a loud Squak that echos from the pit at first and then from the ceiling as he continues through the cycle. When he approaches the opening where his companions are standing, he would try to throw the gem towards the opening before attempting to grab the end of the staff!

was I supposed to make this check? if so 3. I apologize if you were waiting on talon. if the roll is for someone else you can ignore it
Tait, you know that you'll have to push Talon when he comes back away from you.
With a little help from the others you manage to send Talon toward the gem.
( Talon athletic check please. )
Can I find some kind of pole that would be useful in pushing and/or catching Talon?
One of you is sure to have a staff. But otherwise there are enough things lying around to be helpful. (Do you want to Help him? "
Yes
Tait has a staff and will offer it up to anyone that wants to give it a shot.
So Talon needs to make his athletic check.
Talon will reach out and try to grab... something!
Atheltics! 5
(If I push Talon with the staff, can that count as an assist?)
Yes
10 with assist!

OOC: What do you do Talon ?

Athletics? 6
Acrobatics? 6
(Nice rolls, lol) Hoyle will try to catch the gem.
Acrobatics: 11
Joshua would try to catch Talon: (13) which makes Athletics: 3 OR Acrobatics:8
