"I Flew!" Talon would chirp excitedly as he struggles to get to his feet. As the gem continues to siphon energy from the kenku, he would drop it on the ground before pulling a blanket from his pack and wrapping it around the gem before picking it back up and taking it to the door.
You all move back to the door and place the gem inside the it. For a short few seconds nothing happens but the gem did fit perfectly, then you notice a golden light coming toward the gem from the door frame. They start to fill the reaves etched into the door.
It makes for a large gold and wingless dargon curling around the center of the door in a strange spiral.
When the door is finally all lighted up you hear a depressurisation coming from the other side and the door slide a bit to the left.
There is no light inside but you can see the dead body, a skeleton really of a small dragon. In its tiny claws it holds a large bound book with a seal on it. The cover is written in runes you have getting used to seeing.
Joshua picks up the book and passes it to Tait "You have some reading to do, if the inside is all draconic I ask that you spend time reading it all and let me know what it says. It doesn't have to be now but you know I can't pass up the opportunity to learn. I should see if I can find a way to read more languages"
(OOC: And because of that. Joshua is learning comprehend languages when we rest and level up)
Tait will accept the book, read the title if there is one on the cover and then turn to the beginning and start reading the book to everyone in common.
When Tait takes the book there is a strange sensation that courses through him and he feels goosebumps coming. The title reads "A God's Scheme"
It is written in draconic.
The book seems to have a life of its own. It squirms in your hands. The latch is closed and on the seal their is an reptilian eye watching and following the mouvements in the room. You realize that the cover is in bronze scaled skin.
Hoyle finds a coffer of rotten wood with a rusted locked. It breaks easily.
"What did you find?" Looking to the book at it squirms in his hands and then to the rotten wood coffer. A look of worry would spread across his face the longer he looks at the book.
After reading the title, Tait says, "I don't think I should open this book. Does anyone have a sack we can put it in for now? Maybe someone we know can tell us what this is?"
(Can Tait do a arcana or history check on the book?)
(in the chest is a uncommon magic item. You can decide which one for each of your characters. Also there is a small bag full of gems and gold coins. These are old coins so their value might be more or less than common gold coins depending on who you ll trade them with. But the bag is heavy)
Both Joshua and Tait take the time to study the book a bit while the other search the rest of the room and start thinking about the way back to the entrance.
There is something strange about the all book. It feels like it is arcane magic, with wards sealing it and also containing it, but there are also priestly spells subtly carved in the cover. You know that opening this book to reveal what is inside will come with danger and that the entity it is linked to will, then know, it has been opened.

After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
(The acrobatics was for Joshua. )
He manages to hook the staff into Talon's shirt and pull him toward the opening.
When the gem leaves the socket all the magic stops and Talon falls to the, now very real, floor.
You find yourself in a mundane room with a large gem in your hands.
"Back to the door and place this gem in that hole?"

"Great work everyone! Let's give it a shot Joshua," Tait says a little excited.

"Great job! Let's go see what this gem does"
