As the group moves up the stairs the group is reminded that the mound behind the entrance of the cave was kind of huge.
The room at the top seems to have been left in disarray for a log time. In front of you a huge shelf takes the whole wall, the books or scrolls are rotten or crumbling but a few might be good enough to read through. There are several holes under the shelves that lead to tunnels underneath. On the left side a closed and barricaded wooden door.
The only light is the one coming from Talon's spell.
Joshua will look through the books and scrolls for anything interesting (as I am going Lore Bard, pretty much anything is interesting) (Investigation 17)
Arric simply tries to keep towards the center of the group so he can assist anyone that needs help. He doesn’t really care about the scrolls, but the barricaded door looks like something might be hidden behind it, so he keeps an eye on it as they stop in here.
Noche nods to Hoyle and smiles a toothy grin. " There are rather large rats here ." he says confirming what Hoyle deduced, " some of them seem to have an affinity for fire so you better be careful if we come across them. "
Arric keeps careful watch of the surrounding and thinks he hears something ( Roll perception, please Arric )
Joshua you manage to get a few scrolls and one book out of the shelves that do not crumble in your fingers. From the title you read, they are mostly about religion and someplace called Toril ( You can make a Lore check, history arcana ... ). ( That's 4 scrolls and a book.)
Talon would bounce around the room looking for anything shiney or of value as the light bounces around the room with him. The birk-like eyes scanning for anything that might reflect light back to him.
"This is a strange place indeed. A giant white alligator, magical runes and now fire breathing rats? It sounds like a great place for an adventure my friends!", Hoyle says with a grin on his face. Hoyle will look in all the tunnels to see if anything is lurking in any of them.
"Do you have wolves here as well. Where the bad man was we found wolves that, from the wounds my friends sustained, also seemed to have an affinity for fire"
(for the scrolls and book, history: 9, arcana, 19 (same modifier so if you only wanted one not both take the first roll))
Tait doesn't hear anything but knows that something is walking heavily on the other side of the door. He can actually feel it on the floor when he gets near the door.
Talon doesn't find anything shiny at all.
Joshua recognizes the scrolls as being spell scrolls of the first circle. ( to make things a bit "funner" can you roll 4 D 20 ) . As for the book you ll have to wait a little bit longer and have some time to get a better idea of what's it talking about.
(I think that was supposed to be Arric that heard something and not Tait, correct? If it is Tait, he'll tell the others what he heard. Otherwise Tait is just looking around and staying on the alert. Are we second level now? I thought that Gamorust stated that earlier that we were second level, but needed to take a long rest for it to become effective.)
Talon will hoist his crossbow after casting light on the tip once more before pushing farther into the room. "Let's go" he would squawk
As the light shines in the stairs you see the steep way in front of you. There is no light up ahead.
( Are you keeping the same organisation going up ? )
(Sounds like a good idea to me. Not sure how everyone else feels.)
Yeah, Talon will lead the way with his (flashlight) and crossbow trained pointed out in front of the group
Joshua will stick close to Talon as usual, looking out for any more runes (perception 9)
After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)

Hoyle will examine the holes and any other signs left behind by what made them to try to identify the creatures responsible for them.
Nature: 15
If they are a beast, this should be at advantage, so here is a second roll for that case: 4
Also, will ask Noche if he knows what created the holes?

Arric cocks his head to the side and listens as he thinks he heard something.

Nice rolls.
I ll PM or here is fine?
I am happy with either. Joshua wouldn't keep them secret anyway, though he will probably hold on to them

Joshua found 4 scrolls ( you'll have to add them to your inventory, for those of you who take them. )
