Iroona lets the crackling energy she was marshaling fade. "Nicely done," she smiles at Slate. Then she strides through the settling pink mist, waving her hand over herself afterward to clean it off (Prestidigitation) and looks down into the crevice from which they came.

Slate chuckled, "Hey, thanks" she said in return to Iroona's approving statement, "Might be more down there" she said to Iroona as she stepped forward to look into the crevice
As the stone bounces down the stairs you see the stairway twists and turns a long way downward. The floor has been cut into hundreds of shallow steps, but the walls and ceiling are still natural rock. About sixty feet down, a rushing stream spills from a narrow crack to the south and crosses the stairway, disappearing into a narrow, winding tunnel to the north.
"Hm." She says. "I believe the dwarves to have been defending that door," she indicates the door with the skeletons in front of it. "So that's likely where the goods are. But I'm loathe to leave this at our backs. What do the rest of you think?"

With her companions considering their answers, Iroona will wander over to the Dwarven face-carved door with all the Dwarven skeletons. She will try to ascertain anything she can glean about the door, or what it might hold, from her book learning.
Hmmm.....well....its a door.....with what appears to be an angry dwarven face on it....finely carved like you'd expect from Dwarven artistry. And it appears to pull open. Oh and also...those skeletons don't look Dwarven either.
If you'd like, give me a Perception check (anyone who is checking out the door)
Iroona stares at the door and thinks maybe the dwarf looks familiar, but then again all dwarves look the same too. When she looks at the skeletons she knows they are skeletons, but they may or may not be dwarves now.
You do notice the remains show signs of severe scorching. Rusted axe heads lie near the bodies, with no sign of the weapons’ hafts.
"Excuse me, Vonman?" Iroona calls out. "I think these may have met their end by fire. When we open the door, you and your friend should stand ready." Then she looks at the assembled group. "Who's going to open the door?"

(I’m so sorry! I missed my cue. I’ve been busy, please forgive me ;) )
Von smirks. I’m no stranger to fire. Let me please. Palaemon will ready to Attack something that comes out, and Von will have Steve open the door. (If he’s not around anymore, Von will open it.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Steve is either not listening to you anymore or gone...
So as Von pulls the door open, from eight small spouts that are carefully worked into the stonework about 10 feet above the floor come gouts of what appear to be alchemist fire.
Everyone within 15 feet of the door takes 11 fire damage or half on a successful DC 10 dex save.

The stairs descend down in to the darkness below - you think you can hear water flowing somewhere down there as well.

The door to the north is carved in the image of a glowering dwarf’s face. Hinges are visible.

OOC > You sure Iroona can't just Persuade the door to give up its secrets? Rando-gen gave her +5 on that...
