When Patt sits down he is met by the dwarven bartender and he hands him a drink. “I would mind yourself pulling your blade so quick, no matter who it is, don’t do it in my tent.” The drink is free but he keeps an eye on you whilst you stay here. He then begins to look for the goblin for the evening.
I could care less what makes sense or not. I wanted to make a drunk sniper and I made a drunk sniper. One can say that he has become one with the sway of being buzzed hence his ability to hide...sloppily
((/shrug. Some of us do care about some type of logic... However, mechanics are up to the DM to decide. I was just giving my thoughts. 'sloppily' for dex things I'd rule disadvantage. Unless you're faking drunk of course (which you weren't). But again, up to the DM, not you or I.))
I would allow you to not have disadvantage in attacks from being drunk, but ability checks and dex saves during fights will be at disadvantage. I’m allowing this as it’s PvE so single player changes aren’t huge.
This is what I hate about the rules. I am trying not to power game. I just want to make a fun character without screwing him over mechanically. Can we not do the disadvantage plz for the sake of FUN remember that? Fun?!
I’m allowing you to attack as normal whilst drunk and you won’t be making many checks in an arena, unless you get higher level when you do more then just fight and at that point you will have higher bonuses. I was planning on being hard on drinking and being poisoned when I first made this thread but your character idea is good so I’m allowing to take it easy.
(...imma need my skill checks unmolested. I can hide every turn and I need to be able to do so. Having disadvantage on stealth is REALLY bad for me. I would rather have a character that doesnt suck than have a fun role playing experience. )
Boozy Jon leaves the tent and subsists in the wilds until its time to fight for the remainder of his time here.
Elwin stepped into the Tusk and Nail tent, taking a brief moment to look around. Satisfied that he had the lay of the place, he strode forward, looking more confident than he felt. He'd agreed to try out this pit fighting, but it would really be the first test of his newfound abilities against anything of significance. Ah, well. That was why he was here.
He approached the counter, noting the orc who seemed to be in charge of the place. That must be Burg. Stabbing his spear into the ground to fasten it, he pulled the leather armor off his shoulder with both hands, and laid it on the counter.
"Ay," he started, hoping to finish his deal before he was called in to fight. "How much for a suit of leather, undamaged? Looking to trade it in for some hide."
He then leaned on the counter, patiently waiting to be assisted.
Elwin tempered his smile. He loved this part... trying to squeeze out a bargain.
"Well, look 'ere, sir," he began, taking on a serious tone. "I'd think we could maybe make a straight trade? I know you've gotta put food on the table, as do I, but you don't normally get an unused suit, yeah? It still keeps the tent nice and full of shiny goods, and it's not like you'd be losing anything to just resell it. What about it, how about giving a new guy a break?"
Tyekanik will head into Small and Shiny and ask "I need a way to keep these easy to access. Can you make it?" pointing to his potion(s) ((I'm looking for a leather shotgun shell style holder for my belt that can hold up to like 6 potions so others can find, and grab, them easily if need be)).
After this he heads to the Mead tent, puts a gold on the counter, and orders two for himself, and a round for any who fought with him today.
"Alright, I get it. Figured I'd at least ask, though."
Elwin pulled out two gold coins and placed them alongside the leather armor. He then glanced over at the various hide armors displayed, scrutinizing them until one caught his eye. He pointed.
"What about that one? The one painted da'kkan white, for crying out loud," he chuckled. "This all should cover it, and hey, if I win, I might even bring back a tip as a 'thanks for the solid armor!'"
Elwin laughed at that. He didn't plan on dying anytime soon... he'd be back.
Taking the hide armor, he set it aside on the counter, and began removing a few garments. Nothing indecent, but enough to make room for him to don his new gear. After a minute, he looked down at the result.
"Yeah, this'll do," he said happily, rapping on his chestpiece a couple times. "Thanks, Burg. Plan on seeing you again soon!"
With that, he gathered up his garments and placed them into backpack, then yanked his spear free from the dirt before walking out the tent.
(Elwin's AC increases from 13 to 14 with the switch from leather to hide armor.)
A young-ish, dark-skinned man wearing a loose fitting, dark green, and well-worn traveling clothes find himself wandering the markets of the Pit. Every little thing seems to fascinate him as he goes past. Though the looks he receives from some in turn leave them looking at him, or avoid meeting his eyes all the same. None of it the man minds. In some cases he smiles back toothily, revealing stark white teeth that contrast heavily with the vagabond ascetics the wild mane and thick beard of curly blackness.
In time he walks into the Tusk and nail, and does a double take seeing the tiefling near the counter. "Uh..." He starts, but as soon as any attention is given immediately tries to duck behind any nearby suit of armor or weapons rack that might happen to be nearby. He's a tall one, standing at well over six feet.

Patt will become more relaxed as the evening continues, he even begins to socialize with some of the other customers.

Burg the thick built orc turns around to notice you and lets out a small chuckle.
"He he, ello let me see it." After a moment of looking over it he looks up to you.
"well it ain't been used so I will buy it from you for 8gp."
(you can make a persuasion check to see for a straight trade if you wish.)
(Oh, he will!)

The Orc leans back and gives you a large chuckle.
"Nice try little man, maybe next time."
You aren't able to get him to straight trade.

Burg gets you the armor you pointed at after a moment of digging through the many other pieces he has.
"Ok ok, hold on. Just don't die so I can keep customer ok.
Elwin laughed at that. He didn't plan on dying anytime soon... he'd be back.

Tenacity strides confidently into the Tusk and Nail with a huge smirk on her face
"How the hell are you, Burg?"
She walks up to the counter and gives him a smile.
"I've missed ya."
Thargan will walk back into Small and Shiny and walk up to Merv. "Anything new my friend? Something you think I would enjoy."
