Prior to the sergeant coming in Idozu would’ve stayed for the whole lecture engaged and asking questions like:
”Why are there these energy fields?”.... “Do you have faith or just believe in the magic?” At the end the lecture he approaches Keisatz as he gives back his book “It appears we may share a same level of devotion, thank you for this.”
At this point, Jason Krieg walks into the barracks, freshly lit smoke hanging from his mouth. While a human, he leans towards the taller side, and his naturally grey hair, grey eyes and pale complexation, make him tick out. He around his neck, you see a small assortment of holy symbols, related to many different Gods of War.
Taking a moment to survey the room, Jason gives a friendly nod to the bartender and strolls over to the bar. Putting out his smoke, he places 2 gold coins down and orders, "Whiskey. Sprinkle of salt. Shot of the Devil. Shaken and blazed." Giving a glance to his fellow Hand members, he maintains his stoic expression but says, "What are you guys up to?"

You have all been in the room and there is a man tending the bar but he is more guard than employee. He is here to keep an eye on you lot.
Arriving back at the barracks Kwisatz will approach the sergeant to give his report, saying "Sir, it seems that the missing wizard may have run into some foul play. Approaching the house I discovered that there was an aura of protection on all the entrances but one window, which in my professional opinion shows that the arcane lock had already been broken. We were able to enter the house through it. Once inside the house, our investigation found that there seems to have been a struggle, and indicated that things had gone missing, I'll return to what things post haste."
He takes a breath and continues, almost quicker than before "exploring downstairs in the house our dear Idozu here fell victim to a trap of some kind, and is still missing his sight. Perhaps he should see the medic. Attacking him in the cellar was a beast of some kind. We managed to dispatch it, though it seemed to have been opening a portal of some kind for another of it's kind to come through. Fortunately, Jason here was able to put a stop to the creature (in rather violent means I might add), which also seems to have had the effect of closing the portal."
"With the creature dead, and Idozu still blind, the rest of us continued our search, finding that the cellar was absolutely filled with necromancy and summoning auras. Back in the main area of the house it was discovered that the desk was missing a large tome of some kind. Perhaps a spell book. I would love to get my hands on that to see what he was researching. No doubt it was rather interesting. Regardless, we also discovered that he had been working with a large number of wealthy buyers recently, though what he was selling was not able to be discovered."
"The book, of which again, I'm very curious, seems to have been taken by a familiar of some kind. Perhaps a rival wizard? Ah! How fascinating! I simply cannot wait to continue the search to see what the dear wizard had discovered to become so valuable! And to whom he became valuable! But now I must do some reading. Is it true that the barracks here has no library?!" Kwisatz finishes, taking a deep breath and waiting for an answer, only to the last question, with his report being completed.
Jason, entering after Kwisatz, pulls out a smoke and lights it, taking a puff before leaning up against the wall nearby. Though seemingly stoic, his eyes stay sharp and steady on the Sergeant, gauging his reaction.
Having helped Idozu back to the barracks Umdrak sits him at one of the tables and waves to the bar for some drinks. Listening to the debriefing given by Kwis a few ideas start to swirl in the rangers head.
"I am not sure if anyone got a good look into the portal. Our big friend here would have had the best vantage point but was struck blind before it opened." The burly dwarf starts to run his rough hands over his unruly beard in thought. "That claw seemed to be trying to pull someone into the portal. We assume that the wizard never left the house and we now know that he had a habit of summoning creatures. Maybe he summoned a creature more powerful than himself and he was dragged through a portal, not unlike the one that we have just experienced."
"Seems like you have found some things of note." he says gruffly, " Any places you need to go next ? I 'l let you take the lead on this for now but don't be afraid to ask for my help."
"As you have noted there are no books here other than the one you brought. You should take some time to rest because you might have to do more searching later today."
“Thank you Umdrak, I don’t care for being a burden to others.” Idozu listens in his seat. Resting and eating once more. Relying on finger foods like fruits and whole potatoes.
Alton will get himself something to eat before he goes and sits at a table by himself, seemingly deep on thought about what had gone on earlier that day. They had fought some strange creature and found next to nothing about the missing wizard. It seemed he would need to buckle down and be ready for anything.

"Hey, Kwis. Did you copy that list of Customers that he was summoning creatures for or even the list of mages he was requesting information from? Maybe we can go see some of the mages and see what he was enquiring about."Downing the last of the alchol in his mug he then steals some of the food off the plate that Idozu had left behind before calling out for a refill.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kwiz sighs "Ah. Good thinking... Though I didn't copy it down actually... I was too focused on finding more information. That's why it's so helpful to work in a team, even I can't remember to do everything. But maybe there are some names I can remember... Let me see..." ((history? 18)) after thinking for a bit he also adds "Ah! Though maybe Duncan here could help out!" as he looks up his white raven flies down from the rafters to be near him and he says "Duncan. Go fly back to the house we were at earlier. See if you can grab the book of orders and receipts and bring it back please." He also sends a mental image of the house and exactly where he left the orders book to Duncan, who then flies out the window to attempt his task.
As his raven returns, and Kwisatz thinks for a bit, he says to the group, and the sergeant "There are some names I remember seeing. In the ledger was the name 'Fender,' though that doesn't mean anything to me off hand. There were also mentions of four other places or people, which should be no surprise to anyone in the fields of magical study in the city. The Blackstaff Tower, of course; Oren Glassaxe, who is known to practice necromancy, he's also kind of a prick from what I've heard; Esmarelda Greentree, who leads a group of elves who specialize in much more ancient lore; Kithian Goldenscales, who runs an orphanage in a tower shaped like a dragon. Perhaps some, or all, of these should be our next stops?"
"Sounds like a job for tomorrow." Looking around at the rest of the team he then nods toward the chair Idozu was sitting in. "You know when we are all fighting fit."
Taking another piece of fruit the gruff Dwarf continues. "None of those names mean anything to me, Kwis. Who do you think we should try first?"
"Perhaps we should see if anyone knows which of them the missing wizard was either friends or colleagues with. If we can find that outnfirst it would gjce us a better chance of finding someone that knew exactly what he was doing when he disappeared due to either his own magic or something else entirely." Alton suggests as he listens.

The sergeant doesn't register the name Fender and he gives a slow whistle when Kwis throws all those names around.
" You better know what you are asking little fellow if you go knocking on them doors. " he shrugs and looks at Dan the bartender with a smile. "Still, for the most part they are friends with the Grey so you will have a warmer welcome than most."
Kwisatz nods adding "Understood sir. I'm just reporting what I know... which at this point isn't actually much. A list of names, a demon type creature, and a missing mage and his spell book. No motive yet either. Anyone have any suggestions for how to approach this?" while looking around to the group.
