"Not alone, you will not."Othokent states simply. "We our hunter pack now. Must have partner at least, if exploring one place. While others explore other place. Maybe." He adds, then turns back to the governor to await more words.
(@Hydra: Out of curiosity, what--if anything-- do you we know about the gorverner prior to the job? Forgot to ask this sooner.)

"Perhaps if anyone has any contacts with the unsavory members of town they might find some information....stolen goods must be sold, and if they can move them close to town it would be easy for them" Elnrog glance to the other members of the group. "Perhaps we stop now for information at the tavern and have a meal, and later check on the caravan masters and see about taking up a guard duty"
"Well said, Elnrog. Let's head to the tavern." Turning to the governor, "Governor, thank you for trusting us with this task. I think we will be taking our leave."
You all know, from your previous interactions with the city, that there are four main taverns that attract crowds, one for each quarter. There are others in the city, of course, but they are smaller, seedier operations that serve me, maybe two patrons a night.
The Hungry Hammer is the main attraction for the workers in the forges and foundries here in Detris. It is in the Northern Quarter. The Jaded Prince is the closest thing to an inn that the city contains, and is where most travelers and outsiders stay. It is in the Southern Quarter. The Far Stone is likely the tavern you are looking for. It contains mostly people in your profession, the bounty hunters, as well as informants with tips from around the city. Be warned, the informants here normally have a price. Going here could also risk giving away pieces of information on an open bounty or set others on your prey, but since this job is strictly by hire, that shouldn’t be a concern at the moment. It is in the Eastern Quarter. The last tavern, the Broad Boar, is another likely target, if only for this job. It is kept almost exclusively for soldiers in the garrison, and could be used to get more... official tips than the Far Stone.
The Governor:
None of you have ever met Governor Tyread before, but you have heard that the man is an administrator, not a soldier. He came from the city of Vord, sent by the Peacemaker to govern the city by proxy.
Taluvus nods his head to the governor and steps outside his office, putting his hat back on his head, and says to those that remain, "I agree Elnrog. The Far Stone tavern, yes? Seems like the place we want to go for information and food."
Othokent hisses softly at the mention of Far Stone. "Other hunters better know place this time. Othokent becomes tired one from having to hold Snake Eater back."He comments on, shaking his head disapprovingly. And yet, he follows along after the others with the giant coiling up and around the lizardfolk, turning itself into a strange extra backpack. Aside from forcing the lizardfolk to walk at a more heavy footed gait, both seem all too used to the arrangement.
Once the group are out of the building and well on their way to Far Stone, Othokent speaks up, "This one knows of some by word of others. This one would know if any are... hmm.. this one believes word is squeamish?"

Hugolina slows down while considering Othokent's words, then says, "Hey man, I understand a snake's gotta eat. But if your companion is going to consume anything larger than a rat, then you can consider me squeamish. In any case, thanks for the heads up."
"I suggest then we start our search at The Far Stone and if that doesn't get us the information we need than we can check some of the other taverns." Tolroc will begin traveling toward the Far Stone unless anyone voices an objection.
Othokent scribbles some things on a little book produced from his pocket. "Misunderstanding ones easily confuse words. Must work on common." He comments aloud without breaking eye contact on the book until finished writing. "This one question was for this one's sake. Not snake eaters. Though she not mind soft skin flesh as well. Once consumed whole talking prey once. Learned the.. Hm. Phrase is 'hard way', this one thinks. But learned this lesson not to allow her to be so indulgent, or cannot hunt as one for month."
He puts away the book and tries to affect a smile at the others. But intentionally or not, it looks more comical than anything on his face. "Answers it to be kept in mind though. Will only use desire as threat when deemed necessary." He said, and was from then on content to stay quiet for the remainder of the trip.

You all make your way to the Far Stone Tavern, finding it in the same condition it’s always in. There’s a boisterous crowd composed mainly of soldiers of fortune and jobless warriors, and the smells and sounds of the place reflects it. Insults, ale, and tempers run freely, with the small dueling pit in the center currently hosting a sword fight. The clatter of steel and tankards rounds out the ensamble of curses and laughter. To the sides, informants wait at tables, sipping drinks and staring intently at all the occurs. A dwarven man with a ashen beard tries his best to keep up with all the requests for more drink, and a woman who seems to be his wife runs frequently out of the back room, delievering full meals to those who request them.
I order two drinks before sliding into a booth across from one of the informants, sliding one of the mugs over to them. "Good afternoon friend!" I say flashing a charming smile at them.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Othokent strays over by the fight pit to look for a familiar face in a fellow soldiers of fortune or jobless warriors rumored to dabble with less 'good' clientele, Snake Eater follows after the majority of the others; showing in time surprisingly mild-mannerism even when separated from her master. Though even so, she pays particular interest in the halfling until shoo'ed or enough threats are leveled her way to warrant returning to Othokent's side.
I play coy "oh nothing much, just looking for a chat. Say have you heard about the attacks on the caravans lately? its an awful thing..." I take a swig of beer, causally leaning back.
Othokent: You find several familiar faces. Some of friends, some of rivals. There are just as many faces missing, but you do get a few passing greetings as you give the room the once over.
Aloton: The informant leans in. "Aye. Awful, that. Now, as much as oi'd like a chat, oi'm try'n to do som bus'ness 'ere. So, what'd ya really come to talk 'bout?"
Elnrog will glance around the room, in particular looking to see if he can see any current or former soldiers, staying away from Aloton and his conversation. The dagger with the mark of his old unit on the pommel prominently displayed.

(How large is the city, and how many different taverns are there?)

Elnrog still glances at the snake uncomfortably. "I served in the Peacemakers army before...it hardens a man's stomach for some things."
Hugolina slows down while considering Othokent's words, then says, "Hey man, I understand a snake's gotta eat. But if your companion is going to consume anything larger than a rat, then you can consider me squeamish. In any case, thanks for the heads up."
Alton shrugs, but eyes the snake warily. "As long as it doesn't eat me or someone im getting information from, It can eat whatever it wants."
