Originally from Chult but for reasons she wont discuss had to hop a boat headed north and hasn't looked back, still adjusting to the cooler climate she wears a heavy dark wrap around her head and shoulders most of the time. She has had more than her fill of bad luck in life and is honestly hoping to turn it around sometime in the near future. Thanks again to everyone for showing interest in joining this campaign. There have been some great PC submissions here, ensuring selection will be a tough job. Since we only have 2 places available in the game and I've received so much interest already, I will close applications tomorrow.
Just a reminder that will be a continuous and engaged game, requiring daily posting, at least once or twice p/day, but preferably more. If this will prove difficult or impossible for you, then please leave the space open for someone else. Cheers.

Altani is an adventurer at heart, a brave young centaur driven by a deep sense of wanderlust and a need to protect the world around her. She was a carefree, spirited young woman who had not considered her place in the world or how her actions could affect others until just over a year ago. Members of her tribe often performed mercenary work in protecting merchant caravans traveling throughout the kingdoms and Altani was of the age to finally accompany her brother and two others tribesmen on such mission. It was simple, travel into the the Deep Green with a merchant caravan, trade with the elves and then return a day later. But nothing went according to plan.
A fierce storm assaulted the group well before they even made it to the edges of the forest, ripping the cover off one wagon. Once inside the forest the group sort shelter so they could perform repairs and wait out the storm. Not far in they come across a rocky outcrop, bare of all but one tree, a thin column of smoke rising from the other side. In that instant the group was ambushed, arrows flying from every direction. Altani froze as her brother fell, arrows peppering him as he moved to protect her. One of her other tribesmen also lay dead before she could even scream. With a rage inside her she charged her attackers, thin dark Faye of some kind, clad in insectoid armour. The fight was short and bloody, the Faye fading into smoke as they fell. As Altani pulled her sword from the last attacker and looked around, she noticing everybody was dead apart from the merchant they had been hired to protect.
It was then that she heard a soft voice whisper "help me" from near the tree at the top of the outcrop. As she road up towards the voice, over the chard smoking ground, she found a dryad, close to death at it summit, arrows also protruding from her. She motioned of Altani to come closer. "Bless you my child for coming to my aide. You are a valiant protector of the forest...from the dark Faye...that..." As the dryads eyes began to close "it is to late for me, take this seed to Quilinost and give it to the Order of..."
Altani buried the dead, helped the merchant to the next elven village and then road on to Quilinost with the small acorn seed in her hand.
Thanks for your interest and character submission. I really liked your write up and haven't had a centaur PC in one of my games before. The race is actually ideally suited to this setting and campaign.

Vassa Sunstar (half-drow bard) - Waterdeep Dragonheist DM Ghosts of a Forgotten Land DM Beyond the Bitter Shore DM Echos of a Burning Crown
I would be interested in joining. I have a couple character ideas floating around that could fit depending on the make up of the party. I have two that are kinda similar.
A wild magic sorcerer whose power burst forth when his peasant village was attacked by bandits.
A hexblade warlock who used to be a mercenary, but whose battalion were all killed and he swore an oath to a being from the shadowrealm to survive the fight.
Let me know, and I'll get started putting something together.
Backstory: Averin was clearly touched from birth, his startling blue eyes and light wheat colored hair easily set him aside from his darker hued family. They say the sun burnt bright red that sunset of his birth and welcomed him to the land.
He naturally fell in to a lifestyle of what his father called 'rainbows and sunshine.' He took life and found the best outcomes whenever they were available. His family soon found a better fit for his life than they could (or wanted) to provide and so Averin became a disciple Lathandar (or equivalent). He only wants to bring light and health to the dark corners of the world, though is not naive enough to think that everyone wants that.
Ethan has been working as a city guard for some time, having previously been enlisted in the standing army of the area. His fellow city guards, and previous soldiering company, see him as a friendly, and well-mannered individual. He has retained some of his military contacts, and has been given more and more tasks by his guard captain over the last few months, probably in an attempt to determine if he should be promoted or not.
The above would go Sorceror for several levesl after the first two, then back to Paladin, befor4e finishing in sorceror. Seeing as you have other front-lilners, here is another character option...
Name: Raven Blackblade
Race: Half-elf
Class: Rogue
Background: Criminal
Alignment: CN
Backstory:
Raven lives in a local town with her mother, who runs a tavern there. Her father is a wood elf-who she travels to see for a few months out of the year. She tends to spend winters with her mother, then summers with her father, learning both the ways of the woodlands as well as the ways of the city. Her father has taught her to be quiet and to move effortlessly through the woodlands, while her city friends have taught her the way of the thief.
Her father is a follower of The Elven God of Vengence, and is a paladin to that deity. He has taken the Oath of Vengence already, against a old enemy of his people. Raven finds the tenants of the god interesting and has begun to lean that way, especially when with her father's people.
Raven's mother is a bard who runs a tavern in town. She has attended the College of Swords in her youth, and has been pressuring Raven to go that route.
Class: Warlock of the fiend / Nature domain cleric
alignment: neutral good
Background: Acolyte
Ability scores:went with point buy
Backstory: Avrick was born a cursed child. His parents made a deal with a deity of shadows long before he was born so they could become high noble folk. The price of which they were told they’d discover on a later day. Years past and the parents of Avrick slowly forgot about the price that was to be paid, assuming it was the sudden death of a family member that was their price. When Avrick was born it was a shock to the elvish family. They had defined themselves as a high ranking and proud family so they HAD to hide the fact he was their child. They sent him away to an orphanage secretly hoping he would never rear back up as an issue.
Avrick grew up in the Orphanage making friends with the nurses and the shadows on the wall. The nurses just thought him imaginative though the shadows did actually talk to him from time to time. Maybe thats why he never did end up getting adopted... Once he was ten he became a frequent visitor of the garden of the orphanage and became quite the tender of the place. Over the years he grew an appreciation for nature and that which surrounds it, his favorite god to pray to was always Pan as he always wanted his plants to flourish with great beauty. His gardening skills were not the only thing to grow however. By the time Avrick was age 13 he was having full conversations with who he referred to as “the man in the shadows” as the years went on he was told much by the shadow man including the fact that his parents put him in the orphanage because they were worried about their reputation and that he is the way he is because of his parents making a deal with him
He learned to harness the plants and the light from Pan and learned to harness the fire and darkness in his heart from the shadow man.
When he turned 18 he was finally unable to stay at the orphanage. He bid his friends and his nurses goodbye with promises to visit again and set off on a journey to discover who he was in the grand scheme of things.
Hey all. Thanks for your interest and PC ideas. I've updated the current party list in post 26 of this recruitment thread.
*Notes: We have 4 continuing players, so I'm looking for 2-3 new players. Once successful PCs are chosen, the DM and those players will work out how best to introduce and intergrate their characters into the unfolding story. Therefore it may take a while for the actual introduction to the game to happen.
All official content is available for selection (DM enabled) once PCs join the game, so that can be taken into account with PC building and some changes would be allowed.
I'll leave the recruitment thread open for another 24 hours or so, then close it, contact the successful applicants via PM and post a closing message here. Cheers all - Vassa Sunstar.

Cromwell was born to a single human mother. She worked as a maid in the city and eventually got hired by a wizard. It was just enough money to send Cromwell to school and put food on their plates. At school, Cromwell was often made fun of due to his mixed heritage. One day he got into a scuffle at the school and was kicked out. Cromwell's mother had to bring him to work temporarily, until she could figure out what to do next.
While at the wizards house, Cromwell showed a talent for magic. The wizard, Zedd, took Cromwell in as an apprentice and started teaching him the basics of magic. Eventually, Cromwell and his mother were moved into quarters in the wizards house. One night when Cromwell was a teenager, he awoke to the house on fire. He rushed out of his room to see his mother in the hallway. He ran towards her, only for the ceiling to collapse on her. Unable to save her, he rushed towards the front entrance way, only to hear a strange voice in his head. It beckoned him to the basement, a place he had never been allowed.
Down in the basement, he saw several people in black hoods surrounding his master, who was bound by magic. They were asking him where something was. Cromwell followed the voice in his head to a secret path. There he saw a pitch black blade. As he reached for it, the voice got louder. It introduced itself with a name Cromwell could not understand, but clarified that it was a being from the Shadowfell. It asked him to make a pact, so that he might have the power to rescue Zedd. Cromwell quickly agreed, and grabbed the blade. With his newfound power, he ran out of the strange room, only to find the basement empty. He went to the surface, only to find out a week had passed. Cromwell decided to try to find where the hooded men took his master, and set off, unsure where this adventure would lead.
Jindeth had no idea of the celestial blood running in his family, he grew up a simple cook in a tavern in a small town only significant as a decent stop on the way to somewhere more important. One day while running an errand, his angelic ancestor appeared in all its glory, right in front of everyone in town, and commanded him to abandon his current life and take up service to the Light. Jindeth immediately agreed and is now seeking that purpose, having no clue what it is as his ancestor disappeared right after delivering the message.
I'm happy to fit in wherever needed and backstory can be whatever the DM needs it to be to help move the story forward.
She's an angry young woman with a chip on her shoulder but beyond that she's yours. Happy to be a sibling, aquaintance etc. of former character if that helps.
The mixed race/class sounds intriguing. I've never played a Dragonborn, so here goes...
Ability scores Ability scores: 169981115
Name - Kriv Xephyrbahnor
Race - Dragonborn
Class - Rogue
Alignment - NG
Background - Urchin
Backstory (brief idea) - Not knowing where he came from Kriv grew up on the streets. Being of draconic blood didn't help. People looked upon him as an abomination. Something to be scared of.
On reaching adulthood two years ago, Kriv was caught up in a scandal that would've seen him strung up on the gallows if his mentor hadn't have offered a single piece of advice. "Run my boy, run".
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ability scores: 111315101013
Let's see what I get and then try to put something together just under the deadline...Been wanting to try out an artificer heading towards battle smith.
Will come back and edit this post once I see what stats I am working with.
Well that's gross. I am not building a character with a 4 in a stat...I guess I'll go with standard array then...
Background Summery: Slymeris is on the road, relishing the delights brought to her from her skills of dance and song. Her travels have brought her all over, and she forced to quickly to put her self-defence training into practise! Keen to see the world's interesting places and people, to weave poetry and lyrics. All she knows is the idea of returning home to the elven kingdom of Leyinthalar is something she wants to avoid... for reasons she'd rather keep to herself!
So, I don't own the source material for an artificer on DnD Beyond, so I will build the character sheet when/if selected...
Name: Vonathan Rockbud
Race: Variant Human (Will be picking up warcaster feat so I can go mace and shield)
Class: Artificer (Not a Battle Smith yet, but will be)
Alignment: NG
Background: Clan Crafter
Backstory: The rockgnomes didn't know where the human child came from, but they couldn't let it starve. And the goblin raid the previous month had left several families without children. Thus it was decided that the Rockbud family would adopt the child.
Growing up amoungst gnomes was difficult for Vonathan, he didn't seem to fit anywhere in the society...literally. His hands were a little to large for the fine tinkering that they did. He was far to tall to walk into most of the homes in the community. And the other children always made fun of him. But he loved the crafting. Seeing something come together from disparate parts. He particularly took an interest in metal work and gears. Now as a burgeoning adult he travels as a crafter journeyman, fixing what is broken and selling wares to anyone interested.
Hey all. Thanks for the interest and PC submissions. There's some great one's here and we only need 3 more players, so I'm going to close the application thread now. I'll contact the succcessful applicants in the next 24 hours and then put a thanks message up here for everyone who made the effort to respond.

Name: Jindeth
Class: Cleric, Light Domain
Race: Protector Aasimar
Alignment: L/G
Background: Folk Hero

Ability scores Ability scores: 16 9 9 8 11 15
Name - Kriv Xephyrbahnor
Race - Dragonborn
Class - Rogue
Alignment - NG
Background - Urchin
Backstory (brief idea) - Not knowing where he came from Kriv grew up on the streets. Being of draconic blood didn't help. People looked upon him as an abomination. Something to be scared of.
On reaching adulthood two years ago, Kriv was caught up in a scandal that would've seen him strung up on the gallows if his mentor hadn't have offered a single piece of advice. "Run my boy, run".
And he did.

Ability scores: 13 13 10 11 14 14- I'll go for point buy instead!Name: Sylmeris Dal'thien
Character Sheet
Race: High Elf
Class: Rogue (Arcane Trickster)
Background: Entertainer
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Background Summery:
Slymeris is on the road, relishing the delights brought to her from her skills of dance and song.
