Ander will pull up a chair and attempt to look in the crystal ball."Let's see the future then. I guess that even if we do just see death, if we know what causes it we can try to change it"
Joetaro cocks an eyebrow at Madame Eva's words. "I wouldn't exactly call seeing my own corpse in the gallows a homely feeling. Tell me, was the work of this Strahd character or does the land of Barovia like playing with the mind of others."
Thanks!, this has probably been my favorite campaign I've been in so far since I've come back to 5e. And have a good time camping.

The old woman lets out a cackle. "Glimra, just because you've seen others die that way doesn't mean you will. Have you not told your friends? Dear me, sorry to reveal such news..." She laughs again, "And you Jojo... Home is where we dwell isn't it." She begins laying out the cards in a strange ornate pattern...
Uanstaer watches carefully while Madame Eva shuffles. Nothing seems out of sorts, but her shuffling skills are incredible. She manipulates the cards in beautiful and ornate ways. While she spins and mixes the cards she begins speaking, "I'm so happy you finally came, I've been waiting for you for some time. My Vistani caravans have brought back many would be heroes, but I always knew you were the ones." She slams the deck down leaving 1 card behind as she picks the deck up again. "You always ask me why I don't just leave. Sometimes things are not so simple, you see, I remember this land when it was beautiful and full of life. A dark curse has befallen Strahd, and unfortunately, he must be defeated." She slams the deck down again leaving a card behind as she continues shuffling. "These cards will reveal great and powerful information that will help you in your quest." She slams three cards down. There are now 5 cards laid down in an x shape. "Are there any questions before we let the Tarokka speak?" She gives you a glossy-eyed look as she waits for your response.
Joetaro shakes his head. "That's some nice shuffling tricks you have there. No Madame Eva, please let these cards speak and tell us how we can defeat Strahd."

Madame Eva's eyes slowly transform into milky bowls glistening with liquid. "This card tells of history. Knowledge of the ancient will help you better understand your enemy." She slowly flips the card over, with shaking hands, to reveal an 8 of Coins. "The Vistani have what you seek. A missing child holds the key to the treasure’s release." Her hands begin shaking more violently as she reaches for the next card. "This card tells of a powerful force for good and protection, a holy symbol of great hope." She slowly turns the card over revealing a 3 of Coins, "Look to the wizard of wines! In wood and sand the treasure hides." A strange cloudy liquid begins trickling from her right eye. "This is a card of power and strength. It tells of a weapon of vengeance: a sword of sunlight." She flips the card over with force this time, slowly loosing control of her motions, as a 9 of Swords is revealed "There is a town where all is not well. There you will find a house of corruption, and within, a dark room full of still ghosts." Her voice raises to a near-shout, "This card sheds light on one who will help you greatly in the battle against darkness." A dark phantasmic substance begins filling the room, it looks like a liquid but rises like smoke, her hand slams down a card with a hideous beast emblazoned on the face, "A werewolf holds a secret hatred for your enemy. Use her hatred to your advantage." Blood begins dripping from her nose as she shouts out in a voice deeper than any man you've ever heard, "Your enemy is a creature of darkness, whose powers are beyond mortality. This card will lead you to him!" This time the card flips over on its own and reveals the image of a ghost, "Look to the father’s tomb."
The cloud dissipates and Madame Eva's eyes return to normal. There is a moment of sickening stillness. "I hope the Tarokka spoke kindly to you" Her voice once again that of a tired old woman.
Joetaro stays composed despite what he witnessed, and glanced back at his companions. He carefully took note of each of the cards and the words that came afterward. "The Tarokka spoke cryptic but was kind. Getting rid of this darkness, this enemy is not going to be as simple as walking up to his door and knocking politely." He turns to his companions and adds "What say you all?"

"Well the cards did tell of four things that will help us defeat Strahd, and exactly where we're going to meet him." Uanstaer turns to Madam Eva. "Madam Eva, is there any way that you could teach me such ways of fortelling?"
Ander turned away during the reading, unable to look at Madame Eva but as it ended he looked back to talk, avoiding looking at the blood on her nose. "Are you missing any children here? Or have you heard of any missing Vistani children? That or the wizard of wines if you know of them, seems like the easiest to find"
Madame Eva immediately vomits. "Fortune telling of this variety is not something that can be taught, or should be desired." She then points to the entrance of the tent. "Standinir will have your answers, I must rest..."
Avoiding looking at the vomit and trying to stop himself vomiting from the smell, Ander quickly leaves and finds Standinir. "Madame Eva said you would have answers for us, and it will help your people too. There was something about a missing Vistani child if you might know anything about it. If not, any information you have on a Wizard of Wines would be also useful." If Standinir knows nothing about the Vistani child, Ander looks back at the others "I wouldn't be surprised if someone in Barovia knows more about this, they didn't seem to like the Vistani's so maybe they arranged a disappearance. And they might have other information that we could get ,though unlike this kind Vistani we might have to exchange some services"
Joetaro follows Ander outside before the stench of vomit fills his nostrils. After Ander is finished speaking, he adds," Or the werewolf who has the weapon that could defeat the darkness, but if there is a missing child, we should find them first. Madame Eva said you would have answers."

Glimra made warding signs against witchcraft and left the old woman to her vomit, she nodded to Ander as they prioritised the missing child....perhaps they could do some good here before their souls were sucked out of their eyeballs. She drew her headwrap about her leaving only her eyes exposed. She did not like this place one bit.
" Madame Eva said a lot of things....hopefully at least some of them a true and a few useful. But yes, the child?"
Uanstaer watches as the others walk out. He follows, but turns back to Madam Eva, "Thank you". When he returns to his friends outside of the tent, he responds, "So, it sounds like we're saving the child first?"
As you approach Standinir you sense a tingling on your neck. Ignoring it, you continue. As you begin speaking to Standinir you watch as his face turns into a twisted scream. He begins screaming at the top of his lungs, "STRAHD!!! HIDE!!!" At this the Vistani scatter like ants. You turn to see a dark mist slowly form into the shape of a man. As he approaches you see him...
He has a Dire Wolf on either side of him as he approaches you slowly. He speaks to you in a calm and confident voice, "Ah, well, you're an interesting group." He gets within feet of you, so close that his voice almost becomes a whisper, "I'll have fun animating your corpses." and with that, he snaps his fingers, transforms into a bat and flies away. But the ground begins to move as you see hands begin to claw their way to the surface. To your horror two entire bodies emerge from the earth, half skeletal, half decayed.
Roll for initiative
I will use a side initiative, it seems to work better in PbP. I'll take your highest roll and theirs and compare them. All of your party will go, then all of theirs, or vice versa

Glimra regarded the old woman with barely disguised loathing but remained quiet while she played her games with the cards.
Joetaro nods as he watches her shuffle the cards. "Perhaps, but everyone's definition of home is different. What are those cards you have?"

Uanstaer watches the cards and Madam Eva's hands carefully, both in interest and make sure she isn't doing anything suspicous.
