"Oh thank you, thank you, I am most grateful! Uh, here is . . . the up . . . front . . . payment." He says as he counts out ten gold coins a piece in a small stack in front of each of you.
He goes on to tell you that he is embarrassed to admit he might have gotten his friend Floon in trouble. Beset by writer’s block, Volo met Floon Blagmaar for drinks at the Skewered Dragon two nights ago. They drank and gambled for a few hours, and then Volo left. That’s the last he saw of Floon.
"You can find me here most evenings. Please keep me informed of your findings! I will hope for the best. Now I have another pressing matter to attend. Thank you again and good day friends."
At this point the three of you are sitting alone at the table staring at each other and 10 coins richer. Either of you want to say or do anything? It is still early evening, the crowd has thinned due to the troll chaos, but otherwise turning back into a normal tavern scene in the city of Waterdeep.
You hear the familiar voice of Xolo and look up to see him approaching the table once more accompanied by what appears to be a dragonborn female.
"This is Xanthippe. She had just finished agreeing to help before the commotion broke out with that troll earlier. I believe you could benefit from working together and pooling your knowledge and skills!"
He looks around at the group for several long awkward moments.
"Ahhhhhh well as I've mentioned I have important matters elsewhere! Good day to you!"
He turns abruptly and disappears into the crowd once more.
As the four of you stare at each other, a bar maid appears at the table and announces, "My my what a brave bunch you are. Well Durnan says the next round is on the house in thanks for your assistance earlier. What'll it be?"
A whimper comes from Adva's cloak and a small dragon peeps his head out to stare up at her. "Oh, don't give me that look. Fine. We'll stay." She says as she plops back down at the table. "One bowl of dragon's milk for this guy." She says, pointing at her companion.
"I haven't been here long, just a few weeks now. I'm from a small town a few miles south of here. I've just been working at the stables to save some coin."
The barmaid stares at Garona for a moment, "and you m-"
Before she can finish, she's interrupted by a voice, "She'll have a mug of Durnan's special house ale and bring one for me too Bonnie."
You see Yagra's smiling face appear behind the barmaid and she sits with the group. The barmaid disappears towards the bar and Yagra continues, "Well, quite an exciting night at the Yawning Portal eh?" And she slaps Garona on the back. "So what was all that about with old Xolo? He seemed very interested in you." She looks to you, waiting for a response.
The barmaid returns with your provisions setting down the food and drinks in front of you then heads to another table leaving you to your conversation.
"Huh not the talky type eh?" Yagra says to Garona. "Well thanks anyways. I could have taken those scum, but I'd have an extra scrape or two." She takes another swig from her ale.
Garona finishes her ale and takes a deep breath and says "glad to assist you Yagra, perhaps you can return the favor next time". I don't know anything about cholo, I mean xolo, or is it volo?
"Ha!" Yagra finishes her ale, "It's Volo, and I aid if possible. Hmmph, Volo is famous explorer or some such. Seems nice enough, good fellow, been writing books or some jibber."
She notices the Turkey leg in front of Xanthippe and points at it, "you still eatin that?"
Without waiting for a response she picks up the leg and begins devouring it.
Between bites she continues, "Volo be known to attract danger" her chewing is loud and wet sounding and she snorts slightly between breathing, talking, and biting. "Be careful if you be dealing with him."
Quicker than you would believe if you hadn't seen it with your own eyes, Yagra picks the Turkey leg clean to the dry bone and tosses it onto the floor behind her letting out a loud belch and leaning back on her stool.
"Well looks like you have business. I'll leave you now, thank you for the food. Im sure to see you around, good night."
"Ah! Splendid splendid! And the rest of you?"
He looks to Coro and Garona with hopeful, tired eyes.
I need the money, count me in
“I shall come.” As he looks at the company who also obliged.
”Maybe u can find someone to enchant my trumpet...” he says to himself

"Well, I don't know about you guys but I'm heading to bed. What do you say we meet back up at the Skewered Dragon tomorrow?"
"Oh I almost forgot!"
You hear the familiar voice of Xolo and look up to see him approaching the table once more accompanied by what appears to be a dragonborn female.

"I'll take a Sunny Lizard if you got it back there."
"Also!" as he looks around the table, "I wish to sharpen my combat skills before we set off. Any of you willing to help?"
"Sure we can get you a sunny lizard." She looks at the rest of you waiting for orders.
A whimper comes from Adva's cloak and a small dragon peeps his head out to stare up at her. "Oh, don't give me that look. Fine. We'll stay." She says as she plops back down at the table. "One bowl of dragon's milk for this guy." She says, pointing at her companion.
“I’ll have a fried turkey leg. So are you guys from around here?”
"I haven't been here long, just a few weeks now. I'm from a small town a few miles south of here. I've just been working at the stables to save some coin."

“I was just passing through town, on my way too.... something I want to get done. Sorry for the hiccup during the fight. It’s been a while ....”

Actually, Yagra, maybe you can tell us a little more about Xolo. Is he trustworthy? And how is it he "lost" his friend so easily?
Garona finishes her ale and takes a deep breath and says "glad to assist you Yagra, perhaps you can return the favor next time". I don't know anything about cholo, I mean xolo, or is it volo?

She gets up and leaves abruptly.
“Well, guess I’ll order another turkey leg.” Xanthippe chuckles a little nervously. “What do you all think about Volo?”
