(OOC: If the DM will allow. Crisp would like to snuff out all candles and lanterns in the tavern with Prestidigitation.)
If allowed.
Crisp watches as the last guy is knocked unconscious and quickly snaps his finger, causing all the lights in the tavern. He then ignites the flame in his hand, emitting a small, dim glow around him and the immediate area. He will get up and move to the group. "You all should get out of here before the authorities come barging in."
Backstory: Tired of life in the jungles, Twitch ventures out to the city to catch bad guys and help the good guys, if he feels like it. He has been in Waterdeep for a few months and has gotten to know the lay of the land as far as the criminal element goes.
Twitch slides up from seemingly nowhere and says," It isn't the authorities you have to worry about, it is the rest of their gang that should concern you. I might could offer you some assistance, if you would like?"
Twitch is a lean looking Tabaxi. His coat is grey, black, and white, perfect for hiding in either the trees of forest or an alley of a city. on his back are two short swords and a long bow. On his hip is a quiver of arrows. He has a look on his face of amusement, but it is hard to tell what he finds so funny.

Crisp snuffs out many of the nearby candles and torches; while the tavern is much to large and well-lit to black out the situation, the sudden drop in light is enough to distract the final thug enough that Nick is able to strike him on the head with the pommel of his sword, knocking him to the floor.
Aware of the brawl, Durnan points to the door. "Out!", he snarls; the thugs flee out the door, dragging those friends that could not run behind them. Yagra, still enraged, gives chase out of the tavern.
Twitch the tabaxi slides up from seemingly nowhere and says, "It isn't the authorities you have to worry about, it is the rest of their gang that should concern you. I might offer you some assistance, if you would like?"
Suddenly, shouts of alarm suddenly ring out as a hulking creature climbs up out of the shaft in the middle of the tap room-a monster with warty green skin, a tangled nest of wiry black hair, a long, carrot-shaped nose, and blood shot eyes. As it bares its yellow teeth and howls, you can see that a half-dozen bat-like creatures are attached to its body, with three more circling above it like flies. Everyone in the tavern reacts in fear except for the barkeep, who shouts "Troll!"

Crisp, seeing the Troll crawl up, will look up at him with a look in his eyes that to others, would say he should of stayed out of this. The thought 'You gotta be ******* kidding me, I knew I shouldn't of gotten involved.' crosses his head, but all he's able to speak out is.. "****..."
Crisp turns toward the group and calls out to them... "If we make it through this, next rounds on me."He then turns back toward the troll and opens up his hand. A small flame grows into a larger Fire Bolt . "I hope this doesn't burn too much!" He shouts out as he throws it at the troll.

Crisp's fire bolt strikes the troll, or rather would have if one of the bloated stirges wasn't in the way; singed by the flame, it screeches, detaches from the troll and flies awkwardly back down the well it and its host just came from. The troll is still hurt a bit by the extreme heat.
Kruk takes aim with his longbow at the troll, his arrow sailing true right through the troll's stomach; it roars in pain, but the wound soon heals over.
[Initiative is a bit messed up at the moment so lets say everyone but Crisp and Kruk get to take an action before Durnan and the monsters get to go.]
Yasiri blasts the troll with a bolt of energy, while Nick skewers not one but two of the flying stirges with an expertly timed arrow, pinning the giant mosquito-like creatures to the tavern wall.
[Rou can still take an action, followed by Durnan and the monsters.]
Twitch waits for the last of the flying mosquito-bats to come in close enough to strike, taking two swings at the beast, which deftly bobs and weaves out of the way. The stirge, seeing an opening, attempts to latch onto the tabaxi!
[The stirge's attack against Twitch] Attack: 18 Damage: 3
Luckily, Twitch avoids the creature's attack.
Meanwhile, in an act of bravery (foolishness?), Rou tackles the troll, attempting to push it back down the well!
[The troll's athletics check] 17
The troll effortlessly resists Rou's shove, pushing back and knocking Rou to the ground!
During all of this, Durnan has drawn his magic greatsword Grimvault from behind the bar, and made his way to the side of the well where the troll stands; the troll, distracted by the pirate who it just pushed to the floor, does not notice until it is too late.
Durnan eviscerates and beheads the troll, whose head rolls down the well, landing after many seconds with a sickening "plop" that echos through the tavern. His guard isn't down yet, though, as he addresses the party: "Fire, or acid; hurry, it's regenerating!" You can see that the troll is already beginning to grow a new head as he speaks!

Backstory: Growing up in Neverwinter I lived on the outskirts my Father was a blacksmith so I grew up in the heat of the forge helping him by billowing the forge or fetching something for him. As I continued living there I started to wonder what I should do for a living I started by asking to join the guard, after a small test I was allowed in. I stayed with the guard for almost a year, around this time I started courting Isabell the daughter of an innkeep who owned the tavern near the barracks. After another year of service, I was given an option of promotion or retirement, I chose to retire and planned to marry Isabell the following summer. Unfortunately, she had caught the eye of a noble's son and being from the commonfolk there wasn't much I could do. We decided to marry in secret sadly we were caught and I was thrown out of the city threatened that if I return I would be killed. After leaving I traveled south with what little belongings I had and sorrow in my heart. I met up with a group of clerics on the road and decided to join them on their journey to Waterdeep, I learned more about them along the way they were a group who worshiped Tyr the god of Justice, I was never well versed in the gods before this luckily it was a long journey. At the end of the journey they had convinced me to join their temple for a while at least until I could find a stable job in the city. Staying with them for about a year he eventually decided to try to adventure in the Yawning Portal

Kruk, acting quickly, takes a lantern from a nearby wall, not having to walk far to reach it with his long limbs. He douses the troll with lantern oil, and the flame leaps from the lantern to engulf the troll's body. When the fire is done burning, the party helps Durnan push the charred remains back down the well it came from.
To the party, Durnan speaks matter-of-factly: "You fought well." He then returns to the bar like this is just a thing that happens around here now and again.
Several onlookers have crowded around the brave souls that rushed to fight the menace from the deep; among them is Yagra, who returned to the tavern after an unsuccessful chase after the fleeing thugs. One onlooker in particular, a man with a distinctive floppy hat, pushes his way to the front and addresses you all:
"You be adventurers, am I right? I could use your help. Let's find a table to talk, shall we?"
Crisp, seeing the man approach, will be on guard for what this man might have to offer. He looks over at the group then back at the man, then back to the group. "I got nowhere to be. I'm down to hear what he has to say."
