OOC: Continuity-wise, this is the first night since you arrived in Luskan and debriefed Roccar, so you can get a room at either of the above mentioned taverns, or search for a lesser-known one, or some other option you think of.
While the group tries to find a safe place to lay low, Hox is besides himself with glee. He's invisible, no one can see him, no one can see him take more shinies. Hox heads inside the tavern and goes on a spree of pick pocketing the patrons.
(I'm really sorry and I'm doing it at advantage since I'm invisible.)
Zane is at a loss, "I really did not think this through. I have no idea now where Hox is. Lets go back inside and get a room and hope that he spots us and follows us to it."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: I'll need a Stealth check (at advantage for invisibility) and a Sleight of Hand check (not at advantage, because Hox is not ethereal, they can still see bags moving and feel objects being removed) for each thefting. I'll use the first roll for your first Sleight of Hand check (which is a 29 anyway).

The clientele at the One Eyed Jax doesn't seem too affluent, but Hox spots three targets; a half-orc practically asleep in his chair, a halfling sitting along the wall who seems to be paying more attention to his drink than his belongings, and a human woman chatting with the bartender, her pack slung loosely at her side. Slipping up to the half-orc unseen, he pilfers a small money bag from his pocket, grabbing the 10 silver pieces inside, and slips it back unnoticed.
Meanwhile, Zane procures four rooms on the second floor for the party; modest lodging, as good as one could probably hope for in Luskan.
OOC: 10 silver pieces have been added to Hox's inventory.
"I will stay and wait for the little one. He has probably already started gathering what he can. If I can catch him I'll bring him up to the rooms. You'll hear if any trouble starts." Gruun moves to a corner with a decent view of the room and will try to spot Hox (unlikely).

Hox silently makes his way to the halfling, timing his snag with a rather loud hiccup. As the halfling settles, he doesn't notice the pouch at his side that has been taken cleanly from its belt, which contains 12 silver pieces.
OOC: 12 silver pieces have been added to Hox's inventory.
Hox wonders if the next target will have more shinies but sees his allies leave for their room. Perhaps the shinies from the half elf is more valuable than the ones from the patrons. Only one way to find out and that is to ask his allies. Hox taps Gruun's and Killian's knee and whispers to them, "Hox go up to room. Not many shinies here, want to know shiny from knife ear." Hox then heads up to the room.
Killian does her level headed best to not a) jump through the roof when Hox touches her, and b) not draw her sword and hack her chair apart instinctively. She will go up to the room with Gruun.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. Here's my D&D stuff. I love it so.
The party gathers in one of the reserved rooms upstairs with the invisible Hox and his box, and Zane spends a minute chanting, motioning, and handling a small crystal bead, after which a dome appears within the room, completely encompassing the party and everything within the room, invisible from within.
OOC: Assuming Hox opens the box to see what is inside...
The box is filled with beautiful gems, including the large recognizable gem you first noticed the half-elf handle. All told, the total value of the gems could be anywhere from 3,000 to 6,000 gold pieces, depending on how they're exchanged. In a place like Luskan, far away from their owner in Silverymoon, the value could be on the higher range if their origin is unknown.

Gruun starts when the sudden poke comes to his knee, standing suddenly. He fakes a stretch and follow Hox and Killian upstairs.

Zane says, "Hox, you here? What happened and what did you find?"
Hox takes out the box and sets it down, "Hox take shinies from knife ear and hooded one. Knife was going to give to hooded one but Hox take it."
Killian smile indulgently at the kobold. "How will this help us find this Sal person, little dragon?"
