"If I'm honest I don't think any of us know any more than that, Killj--err, ma'am. Like I said, real odd ship, it was. Was like it didn't want to be noticed but that's what made me notice, you know? Sorry, I've really got to get back to unloading," Mason answers apologetically.
Hox scampers over to Killian, joining her to confront the overseer. "Ask one called Mason of Harbor...Harbor...Master of Harbors?"Hox trips over the large word and decides to shorten it for himself.
(One of my rules for Hox is no larger than 3 syllables.)
Zane hears this and takes a quicker step to approach first. "You, sir, seem to be wanting to trade your coin for our physical abilities. We on the other hand are looking to trade our coin for your information. We could meet in the middle and trade your information for our physical abilities of course. As we are in a bit of a hurry though, we might be willing to compensate your time enough for you to hire more workers. What is your preference?"
"I'm not interested in--now how much--to compens...wha?" The man tries to interrupt, but by the end of Zane's question he seems slightly lost. "You talk too much, cat. If you want to pay me for something, hand it over."
Zane hands over 10 gold pieces and holds another 10 in the other hand.
"Perfect. The first 10 is just for your time, good sir. The second 10 would be another few minutes of your time during which you lead us to the Harbormaster. If we find him quickly and get the information we need then there is a final 10 in it for you. How does that sound?"
Killian looks annoyed as Zane slips in front of her just as she was getting ready to... make the man tell them something. She steps back, but continues to glare at either Zane or the overseer, or anyone else who looks at her funny.

The man quickly pockets the gold, chuckling. "Ha! Ain't no Harbormaster in Luskan anymore, cat. Everything you see here is run out of one o' the ships. We belong to Ship Kurth. And you can keep the rest o' that gold, because I ain't taking you to the High Captain before today's work is done. That trouble ain't worth no gold. But you can't miss Ship Kurth if you wanna go seekin' an audience," he answers, pointing to a large tower on an island to the southwest, connected to Luskan by a bridge.
Killian half draws her longsword, and growls, "The cat has a name, hairless monkey, as I imagine, do you. Give it to us, that we might tell the High Captain who sent us, and I won't take those 10 gold back, along with your hands."

Thinking back on the previous conversation that Killian had with Mason - Zane is now wondering if they were being lied to about there being a harbormaster or was the guy just simply oblivious to how his place of work operates.
Hox looks to the bridge, "So this Ship Kurth has master of harbors then. Then we go see this Ship Kurth." Hox flies on over to the start of the bridge.
"It's Herlis. And don't think you'll get some sort of punishment on me because of it. The High Captain'd be a lot angrier if I left my duties to help you," the dockworker grumbles.
Hox takes flight, startling many of the onlookers, and flies ahead down the docks, toward the tower and bridge in the distance.
Gruun grumbles about 'Just using your legs for once' as he stares out at the sea. When Hox flies away he starts, and motioning quickly to the group "Come on!" heads off to where he is heading.
The party leaves the dockworker shaking his head to follow Hox's direct flight to the bridge. The kobold flies right over a group of laborers walking along the pier, and the crowd is thick enough to cause the rest of the party to slow, forcing their way through them. When they reach the end of the crowd, three humans, a half-elf in a bandana, and a halfling suddenly block their path, drawing scimitars and daggers from their belts. They are wearing studded leather over dirtied common clothing.
"Well I'll be. Killjoy. You don't look as...much...as I expected," the half-elf smirks, "You've all been asking too many questions. That stops now."
The group erupts into motion, leading with their scimitars.
Placement: There are three humans, a half-elf, and a halfling blocking your path on the docks, 10 feet away from you. Hox is flying 20 feet in the air, and is 100 feet ahead of the enemies.

Gruun keeps a watchful eye and tries not to stand out too much on the docks.
"If you aren't lookin' for work, I want nothing to do with it," the man grumbles at Killian's approach.

Zane backs up 5 feet to be somewhat behind Gruun.
He points at the halfling and says, "Dead tiny man walking" and casts Vicious Mockery for 2 damage (wisdom save 16).
Hox flies down as he decides to dart on foot towards the party.
Full movement and two dashes.
