The cloaked figure immediately spots Hox appear over the rooftop, but his warning shout to the half-elf is far too late. The winged kobold swoops down as the half-elf is holding the box of gems out, and swiftly grabs the box of gems for himself and flies off.
"You idiot! You were followed!" the cloaked man throws two daggers, impossibly fast, but Hox rounds the corner of the alley in the air and both missiles strike the brick of the nearby building. The daggers soon reappear in the man's hand, and he exits the scene, disappearing into darkness, leaving the half-elf wailing in distress.
Hox quickly stuffs the box into his assortment of pouches as he looks to see if anyone is chasing him. And just a precaution, he takes a bit of a detour on the rooftops and the streets back to One-Eyed Jax tavern.
Killian puts her drink aside. "Perhaps we can use these to draw out this woman? Or to pay for information? If these belonged to a criminal... organization, here, then it stands to reason that we are now once again in the thick of it."
"I recall some gems have been stolen from a mage nearby. I've had enough dealings with powerful magic users, we should rid ourselves of these before we get the blamed for taking them in the first place. Zane can you check if one or two are safe for Hox to keep?"
Zane stands up and motions for the others to follow, picks his path through the crowd, waves to the barkeep and exits. At the very first possibility he ducks into an alley and pulls others with him. "Hox, however you got those stones, someone must have seen you. I will make you invisible and we will find a safe spot. Follow us closely please." And he casts Invisibility on Hox.
He would then chat with Killian and Gruun like nothing has happened, heading to some place he has found to be safe over the last few days.
OOC: A tavern like the One-Eyed Jax is actually probably the safest place that you've seen in Luskan. Other than the Hosttower of the Arcane, the majority of the city is inhabited by dockworkers and thieves. The nicest inn in town is the Seven Sails Inn, run by the Arcane Brotherhood outside of the Hosttower. Other than getting a room there, you're looking at the One Eyed Jax or an abandoned storehouse in Rat Alley as places to keep a low profile.
