"Nice. Now what?" He pops in his ear buds and flops back into his chair.
"Now I think we pick our poison, magic man." She says. "Someone explain this to me. You want me to take this book," she picks up the folktales, "and... what exactly? I'm going to pull a magic sword from it, or something?"
"Nice. Now what?" He pops in his ear buds and flops back into his chair.
Isaac once again opens the box, “You must summon your servant so that you may actually compete in the war. Upon summoning, you will gain the command seals for your servant and the contract will be completed. However, first, you will need one of these catalysts.” He gestures to the piece of wood and the manuscript.

Isaac turns to you, “You will utilize it during the summoning ritual for your servant. It will serve as a focus to call the spirit from the Throne of Heroes, a spiritual realm beyond our own. To put it simply, you are summoning a lesser copy of one of history’s most prominent figures. We have cleared a space for such an occasion.”

Damn it. Just when she was starting to get onboard, too. She had thought that all of the 'servant' talk before was- what? metaphorical?
"So... a slave? You want me to use my wondrous, newfound, god-like powers... to make a slave." She looks at Oz. "I'm not crazy, right? Last week I had no power, and this week he wants me to use it to help them to commit an atrocity, right? Well tough s--t, I'm not doing that."
Now it's Imani's turn to stand to leave. "Thank you for the tea and crumpets, King Wednesday."
Isaac sighs, muttering under his breath, "Teenagers, everyday with this." He continues at regular volume, "No. It is a contract. You are well versed in law, yes? The ritual requires you to reach out to them and for them to respond accordingly. The servants have their own reasons for acting in this war, namely a wish of their own."

She stops with her hand on the door and she turns around. Stupid- she had left her bag in her chair anyway. That would have been a good look. "Okay... Well, I guess... I guess that's okay." She thinks back to her last girlfriend: She had spent hours in her dorm playing some monster fighting game on her computer. "So who am I going to... what, summon? Is that it? Do I have to find a bunch of magic pendants or something first?"
Isaac stands and begins walking to the door, “Allow me to show you. Come along, Ms. Passerida.”
So! Here we have the Summoning Ritual! Your next rolls here will determine the quality and strength of your Servants, so you better roll high! Three checks will be required.
The first is an Arcana check to create the setting of the ritual, which is rolled with Advantage due to the fact that you both have proper catalysts.
The second is a Performance check to perform the actual magic of the ritual. If either of you would like to attempt to speak the Servant’s original language to them, and your character is able to do so, the ritual will be more effective.
The third and final is a Persuasion check to sync yourself with the spirit of the Servant. The catalyst once again provides Advantage on this check.

Imani, with the information that Isaac provided you, you begin working on enacting the ritual.
The first stage that you do is prepare the magic circle. You lay down the proper reagents and draw the circle in the ground. Throughout this, you feel an odd sense of knowledge, like muscle memory. Unfortunately, the muscle memory is not enough to remind you of one final key line that needed to be drawn in the space. Despite your catalyst helping to stabilize the ritual, the magic flares out of control for a moment. The Ritual portion of the summoning has gone Poorly. You’re Servant will have 5 less HD than yourself due to it not fully materializing.
The second stage of the summoning then begins. Isaac provided you with a script of sort and, looking over it, you determine that compared to some of the legal jargon that you have had to memorize, this is nothing. You breeze through the words and as you do, you begin to feel hot, like your nerves are all active at once. You look to your arms and can actually see what Isaac had called Magic Circuits activating. Ignoring it, you continue and finish the chant. This has gone Well!
Lastly, having finished the magic portion of it, you speak the final words of the contract and feel an intense burning on the back of your left hand. Three crimson marks burn themselves into your magic circuits. These “Command Seals” that Isaac had mentioned, in your case, seem to be in the vague shape of a broken pillar, a flame, and a complete pillar. You internally something unlock as light fills the magic circle and before you... is a giant pile of blankets. Just massive. The contract went Perfect. All of the Servants ability scores have been Ranked Up (Increased by 4) and they have gained a new Save proficiency.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"This thing will bring Merlin?" Oz asks with a doubtful expression as he eyes the piece of wood. He begins thinking out loud and pacing in circles. "Merlin was a genious and probably knew lots of languages... I wonder if I should use a different language... maybe not, the stories are from Europe, and English is something like nine languages rolled into one from all over Europe... Merlin's has to be a part of it right? Hmm..."
The pile of blankets shifts almost as if something from beneath the ground is clawing its way to the surface. The first thing to emerge - a giant, white cowlick. Whatever is beneath these sheets stops moving, but you hear a soft and gentle, feminine voice call out, "... Five more minutes... this is exhausting..."
Despite what they said, they continue to move until finally, their whole head pops out of the sheets. Their pale, cherub face wears an easy smile, looking like a little kid waking up from a nap, the little girl asks, "Master Imani, let's take a nap."

Oz thinks for a moment. Isaac had mentioned that the carving came from the Caledonian Forest, which he recalls being in Scotland. However, at the same time, Merlin’s origin could be tied to a variety of different languages.

The servant in question is a short, young looking Heroic Spirit. She is currently wearing yellow, polka-dot PJ’s and an old time sleep cap. She has short pale white/blonde hair, and as mentioned, pale fair skin with gold freckles. Additionally, her eyes seem perpetually closed, despite her seemingly seeing fine.
Oscar pauses his preparations to come see who his partner had summoned. "We're going to lose" he thinks to himself when he sees this so called great hero.
