Caelius, roused from a spacey gaze as the group moves farther from the jungle, stares at Diamond upon his return. He watches the kalashtar intently as he informs the grroup of the detonation. He turns to Taran, gets the young man's attention and begins to make contained gestures,
"I want you to know that I agree with Vishal and River. You may speak to me at anytime about anything."
Caelius gives Diamond a glance, seeing if he's watching before continuing with less grammar and more speed,
"URGENT! Diamond knows the soldier's name. No movement, no explosion? Concerning."
22 on Insight to see if Diamond is hiding anything about the detonation.

"The relevant equation is: Knowledge = power = energy = matter = mass; a good bookshop is just a genteel Black Hole that knows how to read." - Terry Pratchett
The walk back is relatively uneventful, if tense. There's a tangible release of tension as you make it across the border and see the peak of Tashalatora in the distance. A few hours later, you've scaled the Vulpana Falls and entered the monastery. After being seperated for a quick psychic review, the six of you are reunited at the psionic portal, where you find yourselves quickly in Shalquar.
Ranari gives you all a sunny smile as you enter the debrief room. "Since you all came back alive and mentally intact, I assume you succeeded. Good job. Give me the specifics."
"M-Madam Trailblazer, um, w-we m-met with Miss Sirkashtai and Mr D-diamond a-and split into t-two teams."Taran rubs his arm, "M-my t-team alerted the W-water Soldier w-we were tracking a-almost immediately, and th-they s-signaled the Monolith. We w-were able t-to take them out and Mr Juhaan t-tried to impersonate the s-soldier to c-confuse the d-defenders."Taran shrinks down a little more, "A-again th-though... my t-team w-was d-detected and alerted them, it b-became a melee and a-a lot of us nearly d-died. Th-the final s-scout escaped and alerted the Inspired, I-I c-couldn't stop him... Mr. D-Diamond stayed behind and set the d-detonation, as well as disrupting th-the reinforcements th-that came. The m-monolith was destroyed and we all escaped but..."
Taran bites the inside of his cheek, "I-It sh-shouldn't have g-gone so poorly... I-I'm sorry."
Vishal has a little bit of a sigh as he says, "Overall the mission was succesfull even though we had a few bumps in the road. The major being a scout getting away and grabbing reinforcments. They didn't stop the monolith but they now know we can blow them up and are watching and such."
Ranari shakes her head. "It was everyone's first time taking down a monolith, I certainly wasn't expecting it to go perfectly. The important thing is that you brought one down. It's a shame the scout got away, but it was still successful. You did a good job. Anything in particular we should know, any suspicions or observations?"
Taran would think back, "Th-there w-wasn't a-anything unusual a-about the Riedran f-forces that I noticed. M-Mister D-diamond's magic w-was strange, an-and he m-might have had help d-distracting the s-soldiers a-and c-covering our re-retreat... Th-they... the g-group d-decided to trust him o-on his own f-for that p-portion of the mission."
"B-b-but i-it... Mister C-Caelius's magic is st-strange too, s-so I d-don't th-think it is t-too important."
