Bert sees Hawk climb into the watchtower. He looks at Mandaway and says, "Well, someone's got to keep an eye on him. I'll head up there and watch his back and take a look."
He climbs up and once he sees the orcs running, he looks behind them to see what might be chasing them. "What's going on?" (Perception: 19)
Standing just behind Kella, he'll insight check her to see if she seems to be up to anything nefarious: (Insight: 21)
He'll keep his bow nocked and ready an attack at any orcs who seem aggressive, and also prepared to drop the bow and draw his rapier for a readied attack should Kella or her friends start to threaten Hawk.
Hawk looks down at Mandaway, then at Bert by his side:
Sorry! Got too excited, couldn’t help myself... but these wild boar people seem hurt and afraid.. so I’m not sure if we should be attacking them... perhaps Mandy is right, this isn’t our problem!
He turns to Kella:
Listen, I don’t think that troupe out there is looking for a fight.. so I might step down and follow my friends wherever they are going!
He points and waves at the town:
Anyways.. it’s not like there’s anything here for them, so I guess it’s “your” town now!
Hawk puts his bow away, and is ready to follow Bert and Mandaway wherever they want to go. He will keep his hands at the ready on the hilts of his short-swords though... just in case.
The orcs are running towards you (about 150ft away now, Hawk do you no longer wish to shoot?) One of the orcs throws a javelin towards the watchtower but it falls short.
Sorry for not posting. Bert, Kella seems to be ready to defend herself and the village from the Orcs. No nefarious looks. You don't see what was chasing them, but as they are getting closer you see they are pretty much all wearing necklaces made of ears.
Those on the towers see the leader and the second in command run forward. They are 90ft away now.
(what is everyone doing, still keeping initiative too keep track of Orcs and snakes but if you aren't attacking I'm keeping it a bit more relaxed for you guys)
Hawk, after seeing the ear-necklaces, looks at Bert with a worried look:
They.. have.. strings... with ears.. around their necks...
I want to follow you and and the others out of town, but I’m not sure the Cat-Lord would appreciate me running away from my destiny.. and I feel like right now, my duty is to rid the world of angry ear collecting boar people... as much as I am confused about these Zentrom people, I have no doubt about the ill intentions of any creature who keeps ears as a necklace.. that is just savage!
He whispers the next bit to Bert, trying to get out of Kella’s reach:
And for now we have the advantage of being in the town, if we leave we will be at disadvantage to get back... and can you imagine if the zent people and the boar people get together, we’re going to have a bad time helping the townsfolk get their town back!
Mandaway nodded as Hawk spoke, and called up to them, " I don't think there's much chance of the orc and the Zhents coming to an accord, they're both as pig-headed as the other.", he said with a wink.
He continued at volume, " I was thinking we find another way out, go find the townsfolk and see if they even want to come back to this thrice-cursed place."
Bert sees the ear necklaces and involuntarily touches his own ear. He agrees with Hawk, and looks at the Zhents, to see if they start firing.
"They may be scared of something but they don't look friendly, and I doubt they'd make good neighbors or caretakers for this town. Seems like we have a common cause (for now)."
Bert is ready to start firing if the Zhents are...
Not having any ranged weapons with that kind of range, Zook doesn't climb a tower, instead he remains below with Mandaway, listening to the commotion, and trying to figure out what's happening.
"I don't have much experience with orcs, how likely is it that the town walls will keep them at bay and away from us? In other words, are we safe in here?"
Mandaway frowned, " Giants...then goblins...then Zhents...now orcs....Nightstone is quite the popular spot."
" Did anyone notice any other ways out of town while we were walking around....I'm happy to let these two mob sort each other out."
He didn't bother heading to the walls, he didn't care enough about the Zhents or the orcs either way.
Hawk will follow to the watchtower and ready his bow.
He will fire at an Orc when they are within normal range of his longbow (150 ft):
Attack: 7 Damage: 12
Can Hawk tell if the Orcs have a leader with them?
Insight/Perception (same modifier): 19

Same watchtower as Kella? Or a different one?
And they have a leader who looks injured, these Orcs look like they are fleeing.
Does anyone speak orcish?

OOC: Just Giant.
Hawk is on the same tower as Kella. He doesn't speak Orcish. He looks at Kella:
These guys aren't friends of yours as well, are they? They look like angry wild boars.. never mess with an angry wild boar..

Mandaway looked to the others and called out to the tower, " Hawk! Get down from there. The orcs are not our problem."

Bert is ready to start firing if the Zhents are...
Kella looks at the orc leader, "I'm not sure I can reach but here goes nothing" Attack: 8 Damage: 5
Xolkin and 3 snakes climb the next tower along and fire at the captain and second (2 each) Attack: 10 Damage: 9
Attack: 8 Damage: 6
Attack: 21 Damage: 6
Attack: 21 Damage: 6
The 2nd gets hit twice, everyone else misses
The other snakes make it right near the furthest watchtower (nearest the Orcs) but not enough to get in and shoot.
After any attacks you guys do, the remainder of the Orcs run up to be 90ft away from you.

Mandaway sighs and heads off to bury the bodies while the Zhents are occupied killing their betters.
Bert sighs and takes a shot at the most threatening orc.
Attack: 22 Damage: 12
Hawk will draw his longbow again and fire an arrow at the Orc leader:
Attack: 11 Damage: 5
