Andris and Ewan - You try to gain some insight froM his words and mannerisms, but his charm and his politeness in the matter make him difficult to read. He hasn’t given you any indication of lying.
Calelle Perception 17 - thanks
Flux - Xavier smiles at the statement “Oh I know your group is the best.”
Drakus - giving a slight chuckle breaking out from the smile “I’m Xavier, we covered that one already. I’m here because I’m on a hunt for a very dangerous criminal. She has developed a way to manipulate the portals to her advantage. Makes her very hard to track. I have my own methods, but it’s not always successful, hence my not so graceful landing back out there. I have one question, what station is this?”
"You know all our names, you know who Quentin is, and you seem to know your way around the place. So why don't you know the name of the place? Surely you could work it out - you seem to know all of us, after all." Ewan spoke for the first time when Xavier asked the question. There was an undertone of curiosity to the question as he asked.
“You’re all the same, Quinton is the same, layout is the same. But did anyone ever ponder as to why there is a number attached to this Alpha Station?” Xavier replies taking a moment. “Just the number is what I’m looking for.”
About this time Quinton all but kicks the door down, pushing past Marley and grabbing Xavier by the collar. Lifting him up to the corner of the ceiling “Who sent you, who gave you this intel?!” He says through his clenched teeth
Xavier replies “Short story, you did. Well that was Alpha CCCLXII. Long But still abridged story, I’m here to stop a lady from finding a dead god. My fate and this team’s fate are intertwined and they are the only ones who could help. So I’m here to take them through the portal in order to stop this villainess from becoming the new god of death across all existences.”
"I also am not familiar with this man. Though those that sent me did say that this was a possibility, that the portal would lead somewhere like here, but not here. We have a way of being vague ourselves," Ewan responded simply. He still kept one eye on Xavier and knew that he probably wouldn't answer all of the questions they all had for reasons he would claim none of them would understand. "I think a better question to ask is where exactly does the portal lead on the other side?" he says suggestively to the sergeant, not asking the man directly.
Frowning, Andris listened to all. From what he could tell, this wasn't a portal to another place exactly, but the same place in a different dimension. His brain hurt just thinking about it. "So you want us to just follow you through a portal and face this Death God to-be? Makes total sense, yep, lets go. Let's risk our lives with the barest information everyone."
"Im not gonna lie I like this guy for some reason and some how some way he knows us and you Sergeant. I don't know what kind of weird realm hopping, time changing abilities that portal has but this guy obviously knows something we don't. Though I do recognize everyone's hesitance" and Flux looks to Xavier, "Xavier since apparently we have been through this before, tell us something that you usually tell us to convince us. You say you've had this encounter with us before then you should of by now come up with something you usually use to put our disbelief's behind us."
Xavier takes a big sigh “I can show you, but you won’t like it any better than you do now. Gather around and link arms. He brings his hands up slowly in attempt to ensure not to get hit. He removes a pocket watch from his breast pocket. (Calelle this is what was giving of the magical essence) “I’ve been able to relive the happy times, seeing all your faces again. Now I get to show something worse and share my memories of your other selves.” Quinton let’s him down and joins the circle. Xavier finds his spot once everyone is in position while winding his watch and then grabs the shoulder of the two next to him.
Your vision is forced from the field as it goes rushing past. Seeing not one, two, but in the tens of memories layered over each other. Questioning in the same room, some similar questions some different, you see yourselves jumping into the portal, another stack of visions rush by and you’re all sitting at a table during dinner laughing wildly and celebrating, knocked out of that vision. To a battlefield clashing with the undead, then merfolk in another, zooming past this extended war zone you begin to see creatures you couldn’t even imagine(much like the Voggdax in relation to peculiarity). You see a tall slender half elf woman. Long black hair with a white flowy blouse holding a sword in one hand and an orb in another laughing, next vision you dive into is fighting this woman, tone and time again.
This has all been a communal vision and memory as you have all been together during these with Xavier. The layers begin to separate to each individual.
Calelle - you look down in a vision to see a sigil on the ground, a green explosion throws you through the air.
Drakus - You’re leaping through the air behind the black haired woman, just for her to turn around at the last second and stab you through the stomach
Marley - you’re screaming at two giants in a rage holding a bottleneck position before the building begins to crumple around you
Ewan - You’re tied to a pillar, you see hooded figures surround you as you are set ablaze.
Flux - You’re trading blows with the black haired lady, when three arrow pierce your body, the last one pierced through your throat before you collapse.
Andris - You’re running through woods at night, torchlight in hand before a creature jumps out and takes you to the ground. The others catch up as you’re mawled.
These are just one of the ways you meet your demise, there are several (about-20) each one something different. But the one constant is, when you fall your last sight is Xavier coming to your aid or at least coming to mourn you. Tears in his eyes as the grief overcomes him.
Your vision comes back to your own. Xavier clears his throat as he takes a second. “Hopefully that will convince you I speak the truth. I meant it though when I said our lives are intertwined. You see we all used to be a team. You all, sorry Quinton not you. Abigail, and I. After a while we expected something was off about Abigail. When we found out we set out to stop her. We couldn’t, so we did the next best thing. We raced her and killed the god ourselves. Well I did, you were all just accomplices. She was the god that protected the path to the other side.... after death. She weaves a web of fate of all possibilities. Once she was murdered those possibilities began to collapse and merge and connect without anyone to ten to them. Hence the portals to all other possibilities. Abigail is going from reality to reality searching for the remnants of the god’s power to take for herself. Since we were all there together when it happened, we are the only ones to stop it. I know how it looks, you’ve all died several times over in this war, well alternate you’s. But I have a slightly different fate, I am the only one of me left. So what say you? Willing to try and succeed where you have fallen before, to save all existence?”
Coming back to you all feel exhausted, like you’ve been dragged by a horse for miles.
Ewan is slightly taken aback by what he saw but doesn't show it on his face, though the exhaustion was obviously there. "Well, if we've tried before, what makes you think we'll be successful this time?" he asks sceptically.
“To be honest, there is no guarantee that we will be. But there is a guarantee if we don’t try. As she moves from reality to reality and steals power, it ceases to exist. All those lives and people erased from all histories. Once she has enough power, she will become the seamstress of fate, a fate to serve her twisted vision. All the versions of you will perish if we don’t stop her. If you don’t want to step up to your destiny, just release me and I will go until I find a you that is up for the call.”
Calelle thinks for a moment before saying "So we either sit here and most likely die after this Abigail becomes the goddess of death or we can go and try to stop her. I personally think that going down in battle is more favorable than dying cowering in safety"
"Well you've pretty much had my vote for a while, I'm not one to sit by, that's just too boring. I'm not looking to get killed by some mad woman, goddess, or whatever else you wanna call her. Lets do this!"
"Well, we would be no better if we go in unprepared, so apart from being a mad woman, what do you know about this other person? How do we know her? What can we expect? Is there anything we need before we confront her?" Ewan asked the series of questions without waiting for an answer between them.
Xavier rubs the back of his neck and then his face with both hands over his face as he paces back and forth. “She maaaaay have been my fiancé at one point in time. We were all part of a task force to find obscure and occult artifacts. Powerful items that were a concern for the Drovian Royal Family. She was always a trickster: brilliant, quick, seductive.... ruthless. We come upon an obsidian circlet. After she laid her hands on that she changed and not for the better. The thing is there is only one of me.... there are just as many of her as there are of you all. She likes to find herself and convert other selves to fight for her. I haven’t cracked how she manages to do so... some powerful magic. Usually staying alongside your counterpart isn’t a wise health decision. It upsets the balance, things tend to explode..... heads, your heads will explode. I would think weneed to remove the circlet from her. But first we race to find the next fragment of power of the Raven Queen.”
Marley flops back against the wall in the room, struggling to make sense of the situation. She starts muttering things and counts off on her fingers "A portal...giants...gods...I died how many times." Staring at her hands she comes back to the group. "I'm not great with magic and otherworldly things but I feel like we can trust you. Whatever needs to be hit, I'll hit. How do we find a fragment" Marley stands with determination, fists clenched beside her. She wasn't about to become another failed soldier like her counterparts.
There’s a look of relief across the face of Xavier. The cool and collected man shows just a glimpse of emotion under the surface before regaining his composure. “For now, say you’re goodbyes and rest, we will leave in the morning.”
Quinton just sakes his head. “Guess I’ll have to explain you’re disappearance as some sort of training accident.”
As you turn to leave and walk out. The outer door opens as the four drow walk in. One steps forward of the others “as stated in the agreement, we wish to act upon our right to question the subject.”
Quinton replies “He is our prisoner for now, you can see him in the morning.”
The drow snaps back “This is unacceptable, he could be wielding magic you can’t even fathom. He is a danger to you and us. We demand time with the prisoner!”
Quinton chimes back “Listen here now, I have been more than accommodating to you and your troop here in MY fort. You’ll get your chance to speak in the morning, if you want to step up and take a chance, break your contract, and get your asses handed to you; go for it. Whip out that little wand of yers and get smacked back to Tolva.” He says as he squeeze the handle of his hammer.
V’lldawn and the accomplish drow turn around and storm out.
Quinton relaxes as they leave “why don’t your gang here take Mr. Xavier back to yer quarters. Take turns keeping watch. Be ready for anything with these pointy earred bastards.”.

Quinton freezes and slowly lets him down at the pure shock of the lunacy of xavier’s Statements. “Do any of you all recognize him?”
"I do not believe so, yet he seems to know us perfectly" Cal will shake his head "It is strange to be known yet know nothing about him"
"I also am not familiar with this man. Though those that sent me did say that this was a possibility, that the portal would lead somewhere like here, but not here. "Understood, sir" Calelle will move Xavier to the barrack after waiting a minute or so to let the drow move on
