I'm not sure what Cirrus is doing. I'm not sure if he can see the nothic. I just know that he is in the crevice with the rest of the party, holding his dogs close. If Bastille gives any indication that a bugbear is up there, Cirrus will begin to hyperventilate and clutch his gut.

You can't drown someone with Create Water. If your lungs are containers than your bones are objects. Any Siege monster that attacks you deals double damage because it’s attacking your bones.
The redbrands continue to search the area, as the booming voice speaks once more, some time later. I see you've chosen discretion... and cowardice..... But I do not blame you. You are outnumbered, and overpowered. Were I in the same position as you, even I, the great Glasstaff... might be wary Hahahaha! I would suggest you leave my realm sooner, rather than later. Lest the business end of a blade finds its way into your back, or along thine neck!
The redbrands eventually disperse after several hours meaning its very likely late evening, the area returning to normal; quiet, unnaturally cold, and musty. Occassionally, you all hear the sounds of footsteps, far off, but aside from this, the silence is piercing. The Nothic had vanished from sigh, though Bastille had seen it climb up the side of the crevasse, as if following someone.. Likely Glasstaff, and hasn't returned since.
Once the Red Brands had left, Bastille says with a sigh of relief, "It seems we are safe for now. I doubt the prisoner is still alive but that is fine. We have gained something valuable, the names Glasstaff and Spider. Names are a powerful thing as it makes it easier for one to dig up information. For now, I suggest we rid the town of these brigands so they can cause no further harm."
"I agree Bastille, it is the least we can do after failing to protect the child. How do you suggest we do that without the entire base coming down on us?"

Bastille say, "Perhaps we DO want the whole cave alerted. Have you noticed that a lot of these places are narrow? I doubt two people can walk beside each other comfortably let alone swing swords. If we bottle-neck them, we should, in theory, be able to take on the whole base and still live. Especially if we gain the high-ground by cutting the bridges while they cross. I suggest we leave for now and collect a good amount of bows and arrows so that we may counter them should they have defensive capabilities."
She then adds "Alternatively, if we are able to move through the cave stealthily, we may be able to pick off lone guards swiftly without alerting the rest of the base." She looks directly at Cirrus, "As long as we don't cast Thunderwave, it should be harder for them to hear the fighting considering how large this place is."
Vimak ponders. "We should definitely fight off the Redbrands. We may not be able to deliver the captives as we promised, but we can avenge them." He continues to whisper. "I've not been very good at sneaking, so we could try bows. In either case, our first move is to slay that thing if it is still in this pit and then sneak out. Bastille, is it here? How do we sneak out?"
As soon as he has a direction, Vimak will move in it, looking to see if he and the others are being watched, trying not to stumble, and trying to find a way up and out.
Bastille responds, "I've seen it climb out of the crevice. I'm not sure but I don't think it's in the cave with us." She looks up and says, "One of us will have to climb out of here with a rope and help the others up. Then we can sneak out. If things don't go our way and everyone knows our location, then we'll have to go with Plan B: stay near the exit and bottle-neck the Red Brands without a bow. If things start looking bad, we can run out." She looks at Vimak and says, "You're the strongest one of us here. You'll have to climb up with a rope and secure it to something so the rest of us can climb out."
(OOC - you find that the rock is climbable without any assistance, or need for any skill checks ((literally says that in the module ;p)) Also Bastille.. sadly if you had stayed a ranger... you would have had the perfect spell for the situation i think you're all setting up for, though you may also have it as a druid.. maybe)
If any of you make it up, you notice the main area is distinctly abandoned.
Cirrus adds, in a whisper, "With any luck, we will escape unnoticed. I don't think we can bottleneck them here, as there are three directions that can approach us from."

(Ah cool. Actually, if I was still playing Herman, he would have suggested buying a **** ton of explosives and blowing up the cave's entrance so that the Red Brands and anything else gets buried. )
Bastille notices the easily climbable rock and says, "Huh, looks like we can get over this easily enough." After climbing up she makes her way towards the exit, suggesting the others follow her. She does all this stealthily or at least tries to.

You all carefully climb your way out of the crevasse. Not a single redbrand to be seen. Making your way outside of the tunnel, you all head back into town un-harassed.. for some reason, even the guards at the entrance are missing. The snow is falling now, and it's getting colder as the sun sets. Once back in town, you make your ways to the town center, to find a gathering of people.
Tied to the statue of Tymora, is the bloody, mangled, and eviscerated corpse of the Farmer, Mr. Alderleaf.... His limbs and head had all been severed, and then 'tied in place to make a gruesome scarecrow. Next to it, was a sign, written with magical illusion, and maintained by a focus, constantly projecting the words
The Fate of all who defy the Redbrands
The crowd was clearly shaking in fear, but no one who looked redbrandish was in the area.
Bastille sees it and tells the party, "Come, let us get our equipment. Though I do suspect they may have abandoned the cave seeing as there were no guards at the entrance."
(Do you guys think I should try to rally the townspeople to unite and join our cause to defeat the rebrands once and for all? They could be too scared, but I might be able to inspire some righteous anger to avenge this humble farmer with my +4 Persuasion. However, they might be a bit ineffectual, they are just villagers after all. However again, maybe their sheer numbers added to our own could benefit us? Thoughts?)

(I will allow the attempt, just post what you do if you do. And switching 2 weapons and a piece of armor would indeed be a full action)
Bastille, and Vimak atleast head towards where their equipment lies. Vimak see's no redbrands in the area.

Bastille already has a short bow so she will spend 2 GP to buy 40 arrows.Vimak is asked to do the same and also buy a bow if he doesn't have one.
