You try to get private tours from the people you've met (Persuasion: 17) and you get a private tour of the main administration building from a bored secretary, the Enchanting Department from a junior researcher and the library from a librarian. In the main administration building you see a room marked "Records and Plans" which is full of people at the time you pass. It's on the second floor on a corner of the building with several large windows. There's a large tree outside the building whose branches are fairly close to the window. As you move around the Enchanting Department, you notice a door with a large gold plate marked "Professor Tolith Crana". The door is shut and your guide is leading you down the hallway straight past it. In the library, you're led through the maze of shelves. They appear to be roughly arranged by school of magic. You spot a large wooden door with two guards sat outside of it. Your guide introduces it as the "Controlled Section" and tells you there are many secrets hidden in there. You get the impression they're trying to impress you.
(OOC: I think these are probably the most interesting places to jump into a deeper RP. If you want to do anything specific whilst on these tours then let me know and we can RP it).
Harpy looks at the large wooden door with two guards sat outside of it giving her guide a bored look, seemingly not overly impressed, "Controlled Section? What are you controlling exactly except more musty old tomes? I cannot imagine that any secrets are more than fairy stories and old wives tales." She says giving a girlish giggle of amusement, "still those two bohunk guards look very impressive," she says admiringly at the pair moving closer to them, flashing them a friendly seductive smile, "no doubt, nothing is going to get past you two, are they? The door though looks a bit flimsy, is that dry-rot?" She says pointing at a section of the door. "hey guys, I'm Daphne and you two are?" She asks. "One would expect that if something was really, really important or valuable back there, it would be far safer in a big old iron vault like they use for treasure, not just another tiny room in a library of all places?"
Harpy looks at the guards, "has anyone ever even tried to force their way past you two? I bet they didn't get far before you two gave them a good thumping, right? No doubt you two have plenty of good stories to tell. Must be fun times at the tavern for all the ladies keen to hear those stories. What time do you two get off, maybe sometime we could get together for a drink. My girlfriends would love to meet you two, they are so into strong burly types if you know what I mean?" She says giving them a sly wink.
Turning back to her tour guide, "nice fellows, have you been back beyond that door yourself for sneak a peek? I bet you have!"
Harpy throughout continues to joke and jest, not taking any of it seriously.
Erik will continue get as much information as he can on the university and the subject.
Investigation: 20
Most of what you hear, you already know. You hear one group of students discussing a rumour about how Eirril ranted at raged at the head of the university when he was passed up for promotion in favour of Tolith and they are not on good terms. The rumour goes that he was passed over for promotion because the administration disliked him and feared he would use his position to push the boundaries of arcane study into realms they considered unethical. When you engage them on this point, they don't have any corroborating fact or details and you can't verify if the rumour is likely true or not.
With his new ID card Laza will head back to the uni and just get a feel for the place. Again looking for guards around the library (and try to learn some of their names), the different professors' offices (both Tolith Crana and Eirril Frilstaer), look for entrance or escape routes, and actually do some student things as well. He's never really had much formal education. So he'll also sit in a few abjuration or evocation classes, and perhaps at least one of both Tolith Crana and Eirril Frilstaer, though sitting as far back as possible and keeping his head down in these.
Now able to enter into the library properly, you make many of the same observations that Harpy was able to. However, you stay a bit longer than she was able to and you note that students often spend many hours in the library and it's not uncommon for them to sleep at their desks. It's busiest in the afternoon and evening but is never truly deserted. There's a guard at the entrance and two near the Controlled Section, but the wandering guard patrols of the Arcaneum don't seem to enter the library.
You're able to locate the offices of both Tolith and Eirril in the Enchanting Department without difficulty. Tolith's office appears larger and more ornate, whilst Eirril's looks a bit small. (Investigation: 7) The doors to their office both appear to be locked when they're not in there and you don't notice any traps on the doors. Both professors have office hours Wednesday afternoons when students regularly drop by to ask questions.
At their lectures, you try to follow along (Arcana: 7) but you get lost in both of their lectures fairly quickly. They cover a lot of theory, which is different to your inherited magical ability. You do notice that Tolith is definitely a better teacher and the students seem to respond to her much better than Eirril. In the abjuration and evocation lectures you pick up a few details that make sense to you, but not enough to really help your magic. If you continued to sneak in here over a long period you might be able to learn more.
Security around the Enchanting Department is not very high in most cases. There's a back door which is kept locked but is unguarded and students and staff often leave windows ajar. The roving patrols don't seem to come in here much. It wouldn't be difficult to sneak in at night when the Department is generally deserted.
Ruhvon would bring the plans back to the Blades' headquarters and have someone make a quick transcription so we can have a copy. Then return it the next day. Also, he would make sure the sewer maintenance access points are unlocked.
Upon hearing about the grate at the base of the library from Rothnar, Ruhvon would shadow the 'groundskeeper' and try to gain access through the grate and do some initial investigation of the area within. Does the grate appear on the plans?
You make the copy of the plans and return them without difficulty. You surreptitiously check the sewer access points. They're locked but, in discussions with Rothanr one evening when you compare notes, he reveals the groundskeepers have a key for them and he has a copy.
The grate does appear on the plans. It leads into the first basement of the Controlled Section through a short tunnel. On the plans there are some symbols marked on the tunnel indicating the presence of traps, although they don't tell you much about their type. Observing the grate over a period of days, it seems nobosy pays attention to it, including the groundskeeper. It seems the grate has largely been forgotten. (Investigation: 23) It's rusted shut and will take some force to open. Additionally, it appears to be warded with an alarm spell. A thieve's toolkit could probably take care of the ward if due caution was applied. ((With this information, I'll say you haven't gone in alone at this point, unless you tell me you'd still like to))

You make your way through the library and nobody takes any notice of you. You note the main front door and a locked back door which seems to be used for deliveries. The route to the Controlled Section is fairly straighforward and poses no challenge.
Brayton is going to get a bouquet of roses and make an arrangement and have a card for Eirril. The card simply states “With love from a Secret Admirer”. That’s attached to the flowers. Using his parcel delivery badge will deliver it to her office while she is there.
“I have a delivery for you Ma’am. Just need a signature.” Holding out a clipboard with a standard parcel delivery sheet.
Tolith replies "Roses! For me! They must be from my husband!" her voice is sweet and pleasant and her smile seems genuine. "How wonderful, yes, I'll sign for them!" She signs your delivery sheet without question. As she's shutting the door, she reads the note and looks a little concerned "A secret admirer? Oh dear, I bet it's one of the first years. They're prone to crushes you know!" She thanks you again and shuts the door. (Insight: 13). Her reaction appears genuine. She was pleased to received the flowers and a little perturbed by the possibility of a secret admirer, perhaps worried they might be a stalker.

The guards look at each other. They answer your questions politely but seem a little on edge, as if they think you're not quite on the level but aren't quite sure. "The Controlled Section contains a great deal of magical books Ma'am. Some are old and valuable, others are potentially dangerous. The Arcaneum keeps them on hand in case they're needed for research. Someone once tried to get past us but they were no match for us! And, even if someone did get past us, there's traps and wards inside to keep out those who shouldn't be there." He gives you a pointed look. "Better than any iron box you could make. And I assure you, the door is perfectly sturdy." When you start flirting with them, you see them tense up. "Actually, me and Tolfdir here are both married, so I don't think it would be appropriate for us to go for a drink with you, but thank you for the offer."
When you turn back to your librarian companion (a timid gnomish female) and ask them about going into the controlled section, they consider for a moment (Persuasion: 5). "I went down there once, yes. I was with the head librarian and one of the professors. They were casting all sorts of spells, I assume to dispel traps and so forth. I kept my head down. That place gives me the creeps. There's stuff down there that scares me. Books and tomes. All sorts of magic. And the traps are dangerous as well. I didn't ask questions about the details, but they were being very careful. I heard noises in the shadows as well. Scraping. Whatever made the noises stayed away from us, which I was glad about!"
It's currently two weeks into the month you have available to complete this mission. The Olympiad is in about a week's time.
((I think you've probably got most of the information that's available and relevant to your situation at this point. I'd recommend thinking about your plan to complete the mission and setting up anything you need for your plan. I know it can be difficult to do this kind of collaborative planning over text. So, if you have an idea for a plan, I'd suggest posting it as a starting point so you can work together to improve it from there. You could do this in character if you like? Of course, if there's any more reconnaissance you want to do, feel free to do that as well!))
It's the day of the Olympiad. In the morning the campus was bustling with students all heading towards the gardens. By mid-morning, the areas around the library and the Enchanting Department are all but deserted and the sounds of distant explosions and the roars of wild beasts can be heard echoing from the Olympiad. The guards are still at their posts as you enter the campus but, otherwise, it's entirely empty. What do you do?
"All right guys should we split up? Team one will go for the book and Team two will secure her office. I am thinking Laza, Rothnar and Ruhvon go retrieve the book. Leaving Brayton, and I to secure her office. Has anyone seen Harpy?"
