Brayton will position himself in combat range of a halfling and be ready to strike if they continue to be hostile. Otherwise he will take a deep breath and relax.
Holding action: Attack Attack: 23 Damage: 9
They are definitely hostile, and are prepared to fight for their survival! Your axe slams into one of the uninjured halflings, leaving a large open wound.
Harpy just silently shakes her head watching things get bloody fast, reluctant but ready to enter into the fray herself if the Halflings don't wise up quick!
"Okay enough of this, before you all kill them..." Erik will cast Sleep between the painfully novice thieves.
Sleep: [ roll]5d8[/roll]
Sleep:31
As Erik waves his hand and mutters an incantion, the remaining four halflings, three of whom are quite injured, fall to the floor, snoring gently. You have 1 minute before they wake up, what will you do?
Laza, seeing the head roll, and the others start to react ((initiative 23 in OOC)) sends his mage hand over to the head to pick it up and hold it over the body it was recently attached to. As the blood drips down from it he simply says "He didn't want to sign... how about the rest of you?"
They were pretty terrified by this but the flurry of blows came before they could respond properly.

Brayton will quickly pat down the bodies getting rid of any weapons, spell components, and the like away from the Halflings. He will also give up His rope to be used to tie up the thieves.

Ruhvon holds his position, guarding the exit to the sewers. "Well, that sure took the fight out if them." He then checks his immediate area for some place where the halflings might be hiding their spoils.

Harpy and Erik make short work of tying up the halflings. Some of the bindings are better than others, but they're certainly not getting free without giving you some warning.
As Harpy tends to the worst wounds of your prisoners, she is able to stem the bleeding enough that they won't die imminently, but they're in pretty bad shape nonetheless.

I think it's fair you wouldn't be able to do both.

Investigation 24
Ruhvon and Brayton quickly scour the house. Brayton finds:
A silver locket with a miniature portrait of a minatour inside. Between the hafling's personal weapons and a stash you discover inside the table in the front room you find a longsword, four daggers, two bows and a number of arrows. It's all quite low quality and none of it appears particularly impressive.
Ruhvon finds:
800 gold and three full bottles of the potion you found dregs of earlier under a loose floorboard in the back room. The expanding and contracting red liquid of the potion in the clear liquid surrounding it is fascinating to watch.
As you finish securing your prisoners and ransacking their house, they begin to wake up. Their expressions are now one of terror. "OK, OK, you guys win! Please, don't hurt us! It was all Algenon's idea!" the quivering halfling gestures to their dead companion "We don't want any trouble! Please just let us go and you'll never see us again!"

Harpy stands back and watches and listens to the exchange thinking, it was all a bit messy and could have been handled a little better but that's how it goes sometimes with them as a group still being rough around edges. Then she suddenly thinks with all the noise and excitement she needs to check outside. Harpy remaining inside the house goes from one boarded up window to the next (covering all four directions) peeking out through the cracks or spy holes the Halfing may have made Perception19 to see if anyone outside has taken note or is approaching to check things out not knowing if that is really all the Halfing in the gang or not.
OOC: I got no clue what is about all the 9's I have been rolling, that is like three in a row now, ugh!
"And you will payus about 200 more gold for intruding on our territory." Ruhvon plops the sack of gold on the ground. He then pulls out one of the bottles. "Very clever work here. You must have been using this to shrink down and sneak up through the toilets?"
Following Erik and Ruhvon's lead, Laza heads towards the remaining ((how many are left alive?)) halflings, pull out the contract and pen, and again ask "Ready to sign?"
"We wont hurt you but YOU will sign the contracts and YOU will work with the Silver Blades. It's either that or we kill you all now."
Erik would like to insight check to see if they really want to surrender.
Insight: 17
They really do seem to be willing to surrender. The speed with which you won the last battle shows them that they're no match for you. They just want to get through the day in one piece.

As you move around the different sides of the house, you find cracks in the boarding over the window to peek out. It's dusk and the light's failing but you don't notice anyone that seems to be paying attention to the house.
"And you will payus about 200 more gold for intruding on our territory." Ruhvon plops the sack of gold on the ground. He then pulls out one of the bottles. "Very clever work here. You must have been using this to shrink down and sneak up through the toilets?"
"Yes! Yes! We'll sign! Curse Algenon! It was his stupid idea! We should have known not to tread on your toes! Those are the [magic item]Potion of Diminution[/magic item] we were using - you got us. You said we needed to pay 200 gold more? I assume that means you found our stash of 800 gold? But that's all we have! We don't have more to give you!" One of the other halflings looks worried - they know you might not like being told "no". "But we know where there's more! We hid some more down in the sewers! About 500 gold! If we tell you where it is and you recover it, you can keep it all if you let us live - that's an extra 300 gold for you!"
Following Erik and Ruhvon's lead, Laza heads towards the remaining ((how many are left alive?)) halflings, pull out the contract and pen, and again ask "Ready to sign?"
There are four left alive, three of them are injured.
Brayton hangs the locket dangling from his clenched fist. Who’s is this? What’s with the Minotaur?”
One of them looks at the locket closely "I have no idea who that is! It's just something we stole from one of the shops and hadn't got around to selling yet! Please, take it! It's yours!"
Brayton goes to the others, making sure he is in earshot of the halflings. “We’ve already been attacked by rats down there. It might not be so easy getting the 300 back. At the very least enough of an effort to take a cut for our troubles. I would say let’s take them down, but by the looks of it they will just get in the way when it comes to a fight.”

Ruhvon turns to the scared halfling and grins wide, revealing yellowing teeth. "Yes, I think that would be acceptable."
The half-drow turns to his companions with the same smile. "I believe this was a good start to our relationship." He walks over and pokes ar the decapitated halfling body. "Something managed to die."
"We don't need to take them all,"he replies to the dwarf. He then grabs the halfing that offered the information by its collar and pulls them to their feet. "I'm sure this one can help us find it."
