Erik continues to ignore the Eirril leaving and taking his notes. Still, of all the mission he's done he can't help but feel like they messed up. Putting someone incompetent in a high position with the Well of Souls. He will ask Brayton to join him for a drink.
"Brayton can you do me a favor you still have your badge saying you deliver stuff right?"
Ruhvon approaches Eirril and holds out his staff. "Can you imbue this with some sort of poisonous enchantment?"
Eirril smiles. "I have just the thing in mind! I think you're going to like it! Well, gentlemen, I believe our business is concluded. I thank you all for your time and your assistance in this matter. Nothing personal, but I hope we do not need to meet again."
You all leave the office and head on your way. Congratulations on pulling off the heist and framing Tolith! You all level up to Level 3. If you could leave a short description of the new abilities you gain here, that would be helpful so I (and your fellow party-members) can keep track of your abilities.
You now expect to have a period of weeks until your next large assignment. If there's anything specific you would like to do in that time, please let me know and I'll let you know the outcome or we can roleplay it or roll for it as appropriate. If you chose not to do anything specific you can gain 5d10 gold from performing minor crimes and odd jobs, etc. Even if you do choose to do something else, you will probably still get some gold from these activities, but it might be less if your chosen activity takes up a lot of time.
You also get a chance to do some shopping. You find the following items:
In Katar's Emporium: Wand of Secrets 160gp (144gp wih your discount) Winged Boots 200gp (180gp wih your discount) Sending Stones 150gp (for a pair) (135gp with your discount)
Rothnar will take a mental note to treat this Ernst Olafson with caution in the future and he informs Pike of him.
He will go to acquire his gloves and pay the remmant gold
( Good memory! thanks! ;) )
When you mention Ernst to Pike he nods "Yes, he's been causing a bit of trouble recently. We have quite a lot of leverage in the Guard and the courts, but he's been more difficult to bring to heel. Prides himself on honesty and integrity apparently. He's not a major problem just yet, but I'd advise staying out of his way in any case."
[Erik can now cast 2nd level spells, he know has Knock and he can Turing non magic materials into different materials ie. Wood to steel, or steel to silvers.]
Erik will rest for the first week and buy his material components he needs for his spells. During his down time he can't help but feel this job literally took alot out of him. He will do small jobs and keep tabs on Eirrils and the Well of Souls.
(Went to go make totem subclass, but Brayton has been screaming berserker from the get go)
Brayton can bow go into a frenzy rage allowing an extra attack as a bonus action, but when the rage ends I gain a level of fatigue.
Brayton would spend the weeks with his nose to the grindstone, checking in the with the halflings thieves from the beginning as well. With this large paycheck Brayton would look into upgrading his house and finding a tutor for his daughter.

OK, you get the full amount of down-time gold, equal to: 32
"I will Pike" he replies to Pike and of course gives back the Identity card when leaving the job.
He will also would like to buy the Ring of Mind Shielding.
You find the Ring of Mind Shielding in a dingy shop in a back-alley off one of the streets near the Aracenum. Everything in the shop is faded and the old man behind the desk is stooped. When you enquire about the ring, which is locked in a cabinet, he tells you about its effects. You eagerly pay him and he unlocks the case and gives you the ring. When you try it on outside a nasal and whiny voice sounds inside your head "Hello? Hello? Who is this?"

OK, a tutor for your daughter will cost you 5gp per week (I trust you to keep track of the ongoing expense). To make a small, practical upgrade to a single room of your your house costs 25 gold, to make a nice upgrade to a single room will cost you 100 gold and a luxurious one will cost 300 gold. What changes will you make?
If you (or anyone else) ever want to buy a new house entirely, I can give you a cost for it based on location, size, level of luxury, etc.
Rothnar turns looking for the owner fo the nasal voice.
"Who's there"he inquires his hand on the pommel of his sword.
The voice sounds again in your head. "My name is Lord Quinerious Upton. And it appears that you, sir, have acquired my ring. Which, I suppose, has also been my home for quite some time now. May I enquire with whom I am speaking?"
Rothnar looks at the ring and his first reaction is to put it off. He looks at it on the palm of his hand and thinks for a few moments, then he puts it on again and says
"Hello? Are you there? In the ring? I am Rothnar. That old man never said nothing about this..."
"I'm not surprised." The voice sighs. "It's nice to meet you Rothnar. I am, indeed, in the ring. Or, at least, my soul is. As I understand it. To cut a long story short, it seems that if you die whilst wearing one of these rings, your soul enters the ring and stays there until you wish to leave and die completely. I'm not willing to move on yet. Some people find this... disconcerting. I expect that's why old Wilkins didn't tell you about me. He wanted a sale. I hope this doesn't disturb you too much? Wilkins rarely talked to me and it would truly be lovely to have someone new to talk to. It gets very lonely in here."
Ruhvon gives the man a nod of approval. With a thought the head of the staff and transforms it into a snake, fang dripping with venom. Giving it a few cursory test swings he turns back to Eirril, "Impressive."
(OOC: I got 2nd level spells as well. The only other thing I got is 4 more temp hp when I use my symbiotic entity, total 12hp now. I gain 4 per druid level.
Ruhvon would like to try to forage for more poison components.)
Brayton would spend the weeks with his nose to the grindstone, checking in the with the halflings thieves from the beginning as well.
As you check in with the halfling thieves, it seems they've settled in quite well. They pulled off a burglary of a minor art gallery, stealing a jewelled statue by shrinking themselves down and squeezing through the bars on the windows. Both they and Pike were pleased with the outcome.
A week or so after your meeting, Ruhvon and Laza's items are returned. They're enchanted to a high standard and behave as you would hope.
He will do small jobs and keep tabs on Eirrils and the Well of Souls.
You follow the drama that unfolds in the Arcaneum following tolith's arrest. The Arcaneum puts out a call fall applications to the position. You hear that Eirril is privately very confident. But, when the new Professer of Enchanting is announced it's a halfling named Tova Spritesnipe. After this Eirril seems to disappear. You hear rumours that he had a heated argument with the Vice-chancellor of the Arcaneum and had to be escorted out by security when he started making threats. You haven't been able to track him down.
Ruhvon would like to try to forage for more poison components
OK, as before, to make a basic poison vial you require two ingredients. One is nightshade and one is viper venom. You can buy enough nightshade to make one portion for 20gp. The viper venom is a little more expensive - 50gp per portion. You find enough in the shops to make five full portions if you bought the ingredients. The poison is also on sale for 100gp per portion. To make a truth serum requires the sting of a mountain scorpion and a mountain hareball. These are for sale for 20gp each i the shops of Dun Farum and there's a plentiful supply. The potion is on sale for 80gp.
However, you can choose to go and forage for either of these instead if you wish. Vipers are known to live in the Great Plains and there's lots of nightshade in Brackwood forest. Both Mountain scorpions and mountain hareballs are found in the White Mountains to the North. If you would like to go foraging for any of these, you can go a number of expeditions, rolling a nature check for each. Each expedition will cost you 1d10 gold in lost income from committing crime in Dun Farum and you can go on up to five expeditions. Each expedition will get you 0, 1 or 2 of the item you're looking for, depending on the nature roll you make. In addition, you'll need to make an intelligence check (+ your proficiency bonus due to your poisoner's kit) to see if the brewing process goes to plan. You can decide to visit the shops after you roll for the foraging if you like.
( I don't like he will come back tunred into a possesed demon sorcerer or something like that ;) )
"Well... " says Rothnar after a moment's consideration "...I have some questions. Must I speak aloud to talk to you? People could think I am crazy if I start talking to my ring. Second, can you read my mind? or just hear the thoughts I... send to you? I am not sure how this works. I appreciate your honesty Lord Quinerious Upton. Do you know how long since... since you passed away? Where did you used to live? What did you do for a living? I am curious, excuse me if I am intruding..."
( Rothnar will not launch all the questions at once but for the shake of simplicity I put the first battery all together ;) )

"I'm happy to answer your questions" Quinerious replies. "You don't need to speak to me out loud, the ring allows us to communicate telepathically. But, don;t worry, I can't hear all your thoughts. To speak to me with your mind, imagine your lips moving as if to speak, but suppress the movement from physically occurring. So far as I've been able to work out, I'm able to pick up on the intent to communicate in this fashion. If you don't intend to communicate, I'm unable to hear your thoughts. I'm aware you're wearing the ring when you put it on though so I may speak to you. If Wilkins was telling the truth, I believe I died about three years ago." By asking the date he died, you're able to confirm that this is about right. "I used to live in the Spire and was part of the noble Upton family." You know the Spire to be one of the most affluent areas of Dun Farum, where the ruling class live. "We had substantial wealth and power, mostly related to mines in the Underdark, but one day an assassin broke into our house and killed my entire family, myself included." You get the impression the voice is deeply saddened re-telling the story, although you're still getting to grips with picking out emotional nuance in this form of communication. "My soul was preserved by this ring. And I've been trapped here for the past three years." The voice pauses for a moment before seeming to decide to change the subject. "But what of you? What do you do for a living Rothnar?"
Rothnar seems very interested in what Quinerious says.
"Tha.. That is.. That's unfortunate. "he staggers a little bit until he figures out how to communicate with him. " You wouldn't knew, by any chance, the name of the assasin, or who may wanted to see your entire family killed, don't you? " He makes a pause " I don't want to bring sad memories to you, I apologize, but you asked what I do for a living. Well I am afraid that I wasn't so lucky as you to be born in a wealthy family. I thrive in the grey areas of the society. I hunt. I hunt people mostly. Not necessary to kill them " he is quick to add, feeling that this could be a sensitive topic " But if someone hasn't pay their debts, I hunt them down and make sure to collect them. That kind of thing. But I have a hard code of conduct. I don't move only for the money, but for the perfection of a job well done. "he asks himself why he is telling this voice in his mind all this things, but... somehow it feels like talk to himself. " Don't get me wrong, money is good, but only to allow me to afford better equipment to do my job better. Discipline. Without discipline we are no more than mere beast. That's why the bow is my weapon of choice. It requires constant training and discipline. "he lets his words sink and after a few moments he speaks again to Quinerious "Three years is long, but not so long perhaps we could be able to track down who was behind the assasination of your family. "
Qunierious is silent for a time, digesting your words. When you hear his voice again, he appears to be choosing his words carefully. "Rothnar, I believe what you say about the importance of honour and discipline to you. Running an enterprise as successful as my own also necessitated working in moral grey areas from time to time and I do not judge you for doing the same. I greatly appreciate your offer to help track down my assassin. But there are things I can't tell you. At least not yet. I'm trapped inside this ring and my only impression of the world is what I gain through the thoughts of the person wearing the ring. Apart from being torture for my mind, being blind and deaf to the world also means I have a uniquely limited view of people and their intentions and have no recourse were they to betray me. I want to trust you, but that may take time. I hope one day you will be able to help me with something. Something important. In the meantime, it would mean the world to me if you would wear this ring at least some of the time and talk to me when you feel able. In return, I promise to help you in any way I can. I know a great deal about how the city used to work three years ago and I'm sure that not all of that information is useless just yet. I also enjoyed the study of history and have a great deal of knowledge on a range of areas. And, when the time is right, we can talk further. Does that sound agreeable to you?"
You get the impression that Quinerious is sincere. Feeling his voice inside your mind brings a certain intimacy and closeness that you've never experienced before. You're not sure, but you might be able to feel some of his emotions. Pain. Loss. Fear. And a little hope.
Ruhvon approaches Eirril and holds out his staff. "Can you imbue this with some sort of poisonous enchantment?"
