"Never mind your sleep, something's up." Ophelia nudges Gryffen to get his attention, and points to the chief and Gideon riding away from the column, along with another guard heading down the length of the caravan towards them, briefly stopping to talk with each driver.
The half-elf scans their surroundings, particularly in the direction Gideon and the chief are travelling, for anything that may be amiss.
Ophelia notices the Chief disappearing with Gideon into the hills, hears the guards request to arm themselves and sees he seems concerned but not overly so about the situation which he explains is a potential bandit raid. She notices Zsena preparing too and sees the other woman check her own crossbow and Ophelia also sees her carefully putting a small bag into the inside of her clothing, presumably for safekeeping.
The chief and Gideon return to Kai, meeting him where Gideon left him, in the meantime Kai has noticed the group of four appear to be arguing amongst themselves although he is too far away to hear. The second group seem to be looking to this group for a decision.

Taking in every sight and sound, Ophelia loads her own crossbow and lays it on the seat beside her, before loading a smaller, less conspicuous crossbow hanging from her waist. She looks over and smiles mischievously at her travelling companion "Well Gryffen, if you wish to see the action first-hand, I won't stop you. Or you could keep me company, I'm sure you wouldn't want me to be carried off by bandits now, would you?"
As the chief tries to get up to a vantage point the large man has to do so without the advantages of Kai's spell which gets Gideon back in place without detection.
Stealth 5.
(OOC - Its almost like it was meant to be...)
As he reaches to crest of the hill he slips, dropping heavily to the floor, one of the group of bandits looks up and calls to his friends, alerting them all to the three enemies on the higher hill.
Kai springs into action calling forth a moonbeam onto a spot where he can hit two bandits and their horses.
The minute it looks the bandits have noticed the Chief, Kai casts Moonbeam on the leader type and anybody standing next to him. Should get two at least if not four. They take 4 Radiant damage on failed save (Con DC 14).
(OOC looks like the moon was stuck behind a cloud!)
Bandit 2 takes the spells power hard reeling in the saddle, Bamdit one shrugs off the blast better but is then in dire straits of his own as his horse collapses under him, 17 he manages to avoid injury but has lost his mount..The other two bandits reach for their weapons, both spears, and prepare to charge the group on the hill.

Kai and Gideon roll initiative please - for having his action prepped Kai went first but I need the roll for the second round onwards.
And Gideon is up, there is about 60 feet between you and the four enemies, and the three horses. One bandit is standing, and injured inside the moonbeam, another is mounted inside the moonbeam, both him and his mount are injured and two more mounted men are semmingly preparing to charge your position.

Gideon sees Kai react after the group have been spotted and manages to act fairly quickly. Grabbing a Javelin he hurls it at one of the mounted yet uninjured men.
Action: Javelin 19
Disadvantage due to range: 13
Damage: 4
As soon as the javelin leaves his hand he grabs his spear and with a flick of the wrist points it at the same bandit. An ethereal spear appears Infront of the stunned man striking forward.
Gideon's javelin flies narrowly wide as it runs out of momentum, the hammer startles the rider too but misses him by a fraction.
As the two riders close they throw their spears, the first at Gideon, the second at the Chief who is still fumbling around with his bow.
Attack against Gideon 23 for 6
Attack against the Chief 13 for 6
The bandit struck with the moonbeam finds himself still under it's glare and again tries to resist the effects of the blast as does his mount (rider 8 horse 11) for 14 radiant
Staggering out of the beam he charges up the hill sword drawn stopping justin front of Gideon and swinging at him with almost the last of his energy.
Attack 22 for 9 plus crit damage of 4
The man who has lost his horse lands just clear of the moonbeam but instead of chasing his friends up the hill he runs off back away from both the caravan, the other group of bandits and the skirmish on the hill.
The Chief, whose blundering slightly soiled the ambush finally sets his bow and launches a pair of arrows at thecloser of the two riders not engaged with Gideon.
20 for 6 and 1810
Summary: Kai burns two riders and their horses with the power of the moon, killing a horse and injuring everyone else. Gideon misses with his attacks, he then gets hit by a thrown spear and hit quite hard by a nearly dead rider. NO other attacks from the enemy hit, the chief wounds one of the previously unharmed riders with an arrow.
Perception - Bandit second group 5
Perception - Caravan Gards and others 11 (rolling with advantage because they were expecting the attack on the hill.)
Everyone is aware of the fight breaking out, however neither side can see each other. From the hill Kai, and Gideon can see the second group of bandits and the caravan but would need to concentrate to determine whether or not they were preparing to move or not. (A perception check taking an action.)
Round two begins with Kai.
The other party can describe what actions they might take out of initiative but keep it a brief set of actions please.
Kai tried to work out how far away the other bandits are and whether there moving towards him and the other (Perception 8). If they are within 60 feet and are moving towards the party he will shift the Moonbeam towards them 11

Kai can't tell if the other party of bandits are planning to move closer or further away. They are currently lurking jsy at the outside range of his spell, he could catch two or bring it closer to himself and the battle I front of him although he could only get one or the other of the non-engaged bandits.

"Let's see what happens", Ophelia says quietly, leaning in towards the monk. "We are, after all, supposed to be travelling incognito, and the guards are hired for this very sort of thing. Keep an eye out for anything behind us, or on the other flank, though. I may possibly have raided a few caravans in the past, and there's nothing like keeping the guards distracted by part of your company while the rest loot the traders."
She scans the surroundings for signs of more bandits.
Ophelia's observation yields nothing, no sign of anyone behind them or coming from the opposite direction, she does see, as do some of the others a beam of gentle whitish light narrowly focusing just behind a hill they are slowly approaching.

Two large gashes now adorn Gideon's person, but through the pain he vows to see to his attackers demise. From behind his shield he strikes out twice with his scimitar at the mounted man.
Attack1: 18
Damages: 10
Attack2: 23
Damages: 10
Bonus Action:
Gideon will move the spiritual weapon to the closest bandit in range (20ft) and attack.
The bandit facing Gideon has little time to celebrate his successful attack as the paladin finishes him with two swift strikes, the man slowly sliding from his saddle blood pouring from slashes to his neck and thigh. Without pause Gideon launches his spiritual spear through the already wounded bandit causing him to almost fall from his mount in pain.
