The final, and as yet unharmed rider charges froward striking at the Chief before he can fire again. Striking twice he attempts to bring down the leader of the guard.
Attack 1 (shortsword) 23 for 4 piercing damage
Attack 2 (shortsword) 14 for 7 piercing damage
The first strike is easily dodged by the Chief but he takes the second thrust through his bicep, causing him to bellow in pain.

The Chief drops his bow as his arm is injured reaching for the scimitar at his hip he swings at the last rider, adrenalin pumping him onwards
Attack 1 19 for 6
Attack 2 9 for 9
Both attacks hit, the second just breaking through the leather armour, the rider is in bad shape, but not down yet.
Round over, next round begins with Kai and Gideon.
Summary - there is one remaining rider engaged with the chief in the skirmish on the hill top, Gideon is wounded, as is the Chief, Kai is unharmed. 60 feet away the other group of bandits are still in position (although another Perception check would need to be rolled to ascertain this is still true, taking an action from either Kai or Gideon. The Guards and the other players can react to what they can see (a moonbeam moving about on the hill and the fighting taking place, but not any movement of the second group of bandits.) or do something brief. The caravan is still moving forwards, with Ophelia and Gryffen coming up level with the Guards who are holding position opposite where they think the second group is, there are about three caravans behind them.

Ophelia
"Quite the light show..." As she passes the guards, Ophelia looks for further signs of trouble besides the obvious skirmish involving Kai, Gideon and the Chief.

Gideon acts quickly to deliver the killing blow to the bandit, with a flick of his wrist he sends the ghostly spear towards the back of the trios last assailant.
Spiritual Weapon: 10
Damage: 10
Trusting the weapon he looks to stem his own bleeding, brushing over his wounds with the palm of his hands he offers a small prayer, a burning sensation engulfs his body as the blood clots, the wounds are still evident but the bleeding for now has been stemmed.
As the wounds close on the paladin's body the spear punches through his adversary killing him cleanly, Kai, standing nearby sees the group prepare to move forwards but his moonbeam is now too far away to help his comrades. The Chief sheathes his sword and reaches for his bow gasping in pain at the wound in his arm, he seems to realise he will not be able to reach a target with the bow whilst he carries this injury.
As Ophelia, Gryffen and the entire rest of the caravan watch to the north the remaining riders burst out around the hill towards the back of the caravan slightly to the west of the guards position. The flurry of activity is brutal and loud. War cries and screams of pain erupt across both lines. As the raiders approach two shortbows fly, a guard takes an arrow in the thigh and another nearly loses his mount to a shot in the neck. The response from the guards sees three crossbows fire alomost in unison, all three strike home, sadly all hitting the same target, who is thrown from his horse dead before he hits the ground, the rest of the bandits continue to close, and then arc west towards the caravans. Several javelins arc through the air, one sinking into the wood by a driver the other skewering the unfortunate man a heartbeat later, he slumps over the reins pulling to the side and the horse moves correspondingly dragging the caravan off away from the line slowly but surely to the south. Other weapons fire from drivers and passengers in the caravans, causing minor wounds only.
"Keep them off the caravans! Protect the drivers!" The cry comes from Alson, as he stands on the topbox of his lead caravan further up the line, the guards respond and begin to chase towards the pack of raiders who are just to the north of the back of the line, ending up about 40' behind them.
Summary - the skirmish on the hill is over, one man is running full tilt into the distance the other three are dead, two wounded horses remain. By the caravan, one guard is wounded, one caravan is driverless and floundering. The raiders are down to six in total, all mounted and are riding west away from the caravan with the guards in pursuit.
Ophelia and Gryffen can make ranged attacks if they wish, will post again later today but will give time for responses first.
"Shit!" Ophelia hunches down as arrows and javelins start to rain down on the caravan. The half-elf pulls sharply on the reins to bring her horses to a standstill, before rolling off the driver's seat to use the cart as cover. She takes aim with her crossbow at the lead bandit heading away from the caravan.
Hide: 15
Attack: 23
Damage: 23
Hide as bonus action, assuming there's a lot going on and the riders weren't focused on me, so sneak attack with advantage.
One more of the bandits fall to an excellent shot from Ophelia catching him in the neck, foot dragging in the stirrups for a few strides he eventually comes loose and lays in the dust at an awkward angle.

(It was one of the last caravans but it didn't get far in six seconds, Gryffen is fast enough to get there if that is all he does including clambering up, grabbing reins etc. He'd be fine with driving it off next turn. It would make him the closest "ggod guy" to the bandits though, slightly ahead of the guards, but he'd be in cover.)

Gideon looks to see the remaining riders heading away from the caravan, to deter another attack he stands and throws one of his javelins at the nearest rider.
Attack: 11
Disadvantage depending on range: 11
Damage: 8
OOC: Assuming the Bandits are in range, if not Gideon will watch the bandits making sure they flee the scene before accompanying Kai and the chief back to the caravan.
The bandits are too far for Gideon to reach with a javelin so the paladin watches as they push past the rear of the line. He sees Gryffen rescue the floundering wagon and from his vantage point can see the remaining pack of bandits seem to argue for a moment in the saddle before bolting directly away from the caravan. The sound of battle quickly evaporates and is replaced by the noises of the wounded and dying, several of the horses are badly hurt and distressed. The guards push past the last caravans, making sure the enemy do not come straight back and the Chief ushers Gideon and Kai back down the slope towards the horses.
After a few minutes the caravan is settled again, stationary, as the leaders quickly converse. Confident the bandits have been sent packing at least for the time being Alson, orders the burial of the fallen caravaneer, and the looting of the bodies of the bandits, the spoils of which are thrown in a cart for now as he wishes to be underway quickly, there doesn't appear to be much of value and on closer inspection the bandits seem to have been fairly undernourished and lacking in much in the way of supplies.
Before the move off, the Chief and Alson call Kai, Gideon and Gryffen over. "Master halfling, you showed exceptional courage in rescuing that wagon, I think their plan was to steal it as we tried to escape but the skills of our guards proved too great for them, nevertheless, the caravan now has no owner, would you consent to continue driving it for us?" As he waits for Gryffen's answer he turns to the paladin and the elf "I admire what you did today, you both clearly possess great power and probably saved us from a far worse situation, I suspect many more would be dead and we might well have lost many caravans. However, I think it is fair to say from the spells you cast that neither of you are mere caravan guards, I do not wish to make trouble but I would like to know if you have the best interests of this caravan at heart, I don't mind the safety you bring us of course but I am concerned that there is an ulterior motive for you travelling like this. I only wish to know if it will cause me and mine problems down the road."
