"I have a few a suggestions for how to conduct this heist", Ophelia unsurprisingly pipes up first. "Some former 'associates' of mine had frequent success accessing goods that may not have been theirs, by setting fires to occupy those who would need to be distracted. Worked even better during the day, as people such as guards must do their duty to protect the public in emergencies, leaving them little opportunity to carry out their primary jobs. I will admit it lacks finesse though, but if these guard won't be deceived, then we should give them something to deal with that can't be ignored.Other forms of distraction could work; starting fights, falling ill, but it depends what appetite you all have for theatrics."
"Alternatively, we could incapacitate them through poisons. Nothing harmful, just enough that they dare not stray too far from a bucket, or perhaps we use something to knock them out for a period of time."
Sitting back in her chair, she takes a bite of an apple and smiles at the group.
"But where are my manners? Please gentlemen, I would be interested in knowing how you would carry this task out..."
"Given the guards are loyal soldiers of the Empire, my preference is for some sort of distraction and as a matter of fact"reaching towards the fire and pulling out a thread of flames "fire is the best distraction of all!" Kai finishes with.

Dejan looks over the group, pondering "I do not wish to put you off a plan of distraction - it could work, but fire might not be the way to go. I do suggest you explore the site as well, including the streets around it. You will need to leave and if you intend to carry this out during the day the city streets will be full, of possible witnesses and certainly guards both from the Watch and the temple of Pholtus across the street of the main entrance."

"I think a visit to the establishment would be great starting point, reconnaissance and certainly intelligence needs to be gathered. "If you want to talk the job into completion, you are all well on your way," Gryffen says with obvious annoyance. "It seems like some of you see this as an opportunity to simply relax."The halfling gives Opheliaa sidelong glance. "How about we actually go see what we are up against instead of sitting around stuffing our faces?"
"I agree, action will serve you best. It is a beautiful day in the capital of the Empire, why would you not wish to visit a place of rtistic significance that just so happens to house an exhibit you intend to plunder." Dejan smiles as he speaks "As long as you don't cause trouble I doubt you need to take specific precautions but I might recommend going in at least two groups."
"I promise to be on my best behaviour." The half-elf says slyly, as if she was tempted to carry out the heist that very day.
Perhaps, Kai, we can fashion you a stylish wig, perhaps a spot of makeup to cover those tattoos? The nobles of the Valias district will surely be wowed by your radiant beauty. Either that or we can use your 'beauty' as the distraction."
She finishes her apple, and playfully throws the core at Gryffen. "My darling halfling, you are far too impatient. That look on your face will give the guards the impression that you are up to no good."
Ophelia turns again to Dejan. "How long till the next shift change? It may be worth being present during the next one."

Sometime before lunch, Gryffenheads out to the museum, eating nearby at the base of a statue as he watches patrons trickle in and out of the establishment. He spends some time observing passers-by, noting the nearby buildings, and looking for regularities in the comings and goings of people who are going about their business.

When the next of his conspirators shows up, Gryffen is petting a sleeping mouse in his hand, watching the birds hopping back and forth on the rooftops. He gives a silent nod to the arrival and places the sleeping mouse in his pocket. He stands and stretches, indicating his readiness to see what the inside of the museum looks like.
Seeing Gryffen leave to check out the museum, Kai follows him after a while and with his hood pulled up strolls around in the street checking out the entire perimeter of the museum.

Eating to pass the time Gideon remains seated in the meeting room, you never know when a free meal might present itself again. Taking his time he sauntered between the buildings looking in windows and stopping to admire whoever may take his fancy along the way. Reaching now for the comfort of his wine he thanked what ever divine had reminded him to fill it up, with a generous helping of the Inns stock his wine skin was now heavy as he took a swig. Much better he thought now i can think clearly, approaching the museum he had no idea where the others were, but if this was to work he had, for the moment at least, to act with confidence and pretend he was alone. Tapping his chest twice for luck he took the steps to the tower two at a time and entered the exhibit.
"Good afternoon" He greeted the first guards he met in a cheerful manner and continued inside.
Heading back to her room after breakfast, she prepares herself to visit the exhibit. Removing any hint of makeup from her face, she shoddily but deliberately arranges her hair into a common but popular fashion among the citizens of Dzenda who care about such things. Slipping on plain but well-made clothing, Ophelia admires herself in a mirror before departing. "The very model of womanly mediocrity", she announces to herself, pleased with her work.
Strolling towards the target, she spies Gideon with his skinful of wine, who takes no notice of her. Whether this was due to her change in appearance, or the wine, she wasn't sure. She allows him to enter first, along with a few more visitors behind him, before approaching. As she draws level with the guard greeted by Gideon, she deliberately stumbles and falls next to him, tripping herself on a small step. As she falls she lets out a small gasp.
As Ophelia trips one of the two guards moves towards her, the other barely blinks and continues to watch over the people entering. The one who does come to her aid says "Are you all right madam? Let me help you up, here take my arm." Once Ophelia is up he offers her the chance to sit for a moment on one of several comfortable chairs just inside the entrance hall. (Does Ophelia take a seat and watch the guards or...?)
Gideon is closely observed but politely greeted as he enters past the first two guards, he notices one of the men make a gesture to his hip and another guard comes over from the side with a hand raised "Any weapons upon your person sir? Can't be taking them inside if so, come with me and we will get you a receipt for anything you are carrying."
As first Gryffen and then Kai walk through and observe the surrounding areas they start to get a feel for the area and the issues they may need to overcome. A pair of guards from the museum slowly lap the building, a circuit taking about 10 minutes, a passerby stopping them for directions at one point causing a several minute delay which Gryffen notices doesn't seem to attract any notice or encourage the guards to move faster to make up for the lost time. Kai watches the building opposite the museum for a while, seeing the Temple of Pholtus up close is a strange thing, it is the highest building in the empire except for the Royal Palace which can be seen despite being about three miles away from where he is. There are a group of four heaviliy armed and armoured guards standing in front of their own gates, with good views of the entrance to the museum but they are quite far away. At one point during this reconnaissance Kai sees the shift change, the numbers stay the same and the men going off duty go straight back into the temple where the replacements came from.
As Gryffen walks around the rear of the building he sees it is far less populated in the area, several paths head off towards the northern part of the Valias, and one curves back around towards the entrance to the musuem. The open space from the base of the tower to the streets could be covered in ten seconds at a run, up to a half a minute at a calmer pace. One road in particular is narrower than the others, and is closest to the windows that lead from the annexe's upper floors where the jewels are on display.
(OOC As long as Gideon, Gryffen and Kai hand over any weapons they are obviously carrying without fuss we can assume they are now all inside the main hall, and did not appear to enter as a group. Confirm if this is the case please or feel free to RP arguing about carrying weapons if you want(!) and I will proceed after Ophelia has moved the story on in some fashion.)

(Yup, Gryffen has no weapons and is now inside. Also, a map might be nice. I can't keep all the details of the area surrounding the building straight.)
"T-thank you kind sir." The half-elf fakes a limp as she takes a seat in one of the chairs, peers up at the guard with a flustered look on her face, and begins talking rapidly with nervous excitement. "I've made such a fool of myself, and in front of the guards no less! I'll be out of your hair in a second, please forgive me for holding up your other guests!"
Satisfied with her performance, she rises from the chair and hobbles into the area where the jewels are kept. She briefly glances at the targets, memorizing their approximate shape and size, before examining the hatch in the ceiling more closely, looking for signs of a lock and how the hatch opens and shuts, plus the height of the room and how it would be reached.
Seeing the guard approach him he considers the question of giving up his Scimitar, not really a knights weapon he feels almost embarrassed handing it over. Raising his palms towards the guard Gideon pleads his case "Sir, you seem a well disciplined and dutiful steward of this establishment, and with fine military bearing, would you not permit a fellow soldier to keep his weapon. On my honour" For what its worth these days he thought "it would only be drawn in the service of others"
"Sir, I'm certain you know the importance of protocol, were I to allow you this then less savoury types would be tempted to try and then where would we be?" the guard shakes his he'd before calling over by is shoulder to a fourth guard "Sreza, bring the receipt book up" he says, kindly enough whilst holding out his hand for the blade.
