You cross the road and begin scouting the other side. Kal, you spot a lone goblin 1 He is eating a wing of what you assume is the bird you saw from yesterday. He is near a bush and has a bow leaned up against the tree next to him. He is eating loudly but you see no other sign of any other goblins at the moment. Niche, as you are looking the other direction and slightly away from Kal you do not see this but you do hear it. You spot a goblin 6 scouting and watching his comrade and glancing out at another location further to the west than you are currently, possibly another goblin, or possibly Gundren and Sildar...or maybe even what remains of them. You both freeze in place upon seeing the goblins (only 15-30 seconds separate the 2 spotting's). You both can not see each other directly, but have a vague sense of each others locations due to your previous movement patters on the other side of the road.
What do you decide to do?
(Sorry for the mid post pause, got busy with an audit at work)
I'm assuming we still have time to keep searching and make the hour mark to get back?
If so, I would say mark his position, go wide, and keep searching to make sure there aren't others in the immediate area. If we are getting close to the hour mark, I don't want to have the wagons take off before we can get back to them and let them know.

Please see above, there is about 10 more minutes left before you need to leave to make it back at a walk before the wagon leaves. (Due to Niches shorter legs and walking speed, I added on 2.5 minutes both ways totaling up to 22.5 minutes per trip each way as yesterdays was 20 min. each way not mathematically accurate, but Ill cut you a break XD)
About how far out are they from the road? And can I tell if these are the same two goblins I saw yesterday - scarrd features, distincitve armor or weapons, etc?
Based on their positions and the way you envisioned we searched the area, how much area have we not covered?

Based from the road, the Goblin you see is about 60 feet (Eating Goblin) and the Goblin Niche see's is 80 feet away from the road to the south. (Sharing the wonderful art I make soon to better explain)
Kal would head back to his pre-arranged spot with Niche so they can get back to the wagon before the time is up. Am I confident these are the same goblins Bran and I saw or are these possibly #3 and #4?
To Niche when they meet back up
Looks like dey got Rockseeker and Sildar fo' sure. Question is whether day are 'live or dead.
Defnitly saw one Gobo & marked it. I'm purty sure I saw nuther. How bout you?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
You are unable to tell if they are both the same, but the one that is eating the wing that you see is one of the pair you saw before. You are unsure as to how many more there are, or if indeed there are any more.

As you both backtrack to meet up as you are short on time, three goblins come crashing through the forest from the southwest. They are screeching at each other in (you assume) Goblin. The scouting goblin, now distracted turns to face his 'comrades' and they all start bickering that turns into a small brawl. You walk out easily and Niche you notice one more goblin come over from a hidden spot to break up the fight. You both remain unnoticed but you not it in your count. 2 (hungry and scout) 1(that was hidden) and 3 (newcomers) totaling 6. You also note the likely location that they will hide in again as goblins are creatures of habit. (sorry about the nat 4 but you got the nat fail 1d20 as well for the giveaway. On the bright side they both were not maxed nats.)
Definitely gobo ambush ahead. We counted least six o' 'em.
Kal and Niche sketch out a rough map in the dirt of the layout of the ambush area and where we marked the goblins. {Sorvas - can you update the image in the google drive and mark the area where we saw the others?)
Ideas? I got a couple we wouldda used back in de army, but dats wit' a unit's been workin and trainin togeter a while. We ain't done dat.

Easiest way will be to flush them out with bait. Those of you who are lightly armoured and have ranged weapons should take cover ahead of the wagon in the woods waiting for the goblins to make their attack and the bait, that would be me and the wagon, will roll on in armoured up and ready to duck for cover
Ok. We could 'ave Bran come rollin' along, singing to beat de band - no worries in da worl'. He stops short o' de hosses, like he's studyin' 'em. Dat focuses de gobos attenshun on 'im. De' rest o' us has already snuck 'round from de south an we're ready to ambush the ambushers. After a minute or two of studyin', Bran tries to drive de wagon 'round the bodies, which should be de gobbo's signal to get ready to trigger der trap. 'Cept we surprise dem, as soon as Bran starts moving. Hopefully we take most or all of 'em out in our ambush.

Works on pirates so should work fine on gobbos! Let’s get this party started! Bran makes final checks on his armour and places his shield on the seat next to him on the cart
Having done the trip a couple of times, will Kal have a good sense of how long it will take Bran to drive the cart along the road so they can figure out how long Bran needs to wait to give people time to get into position by swinging down to the south and then moving up behind where we saw the goblins?

(As you have been traveling with the cart you do know about how long it takes the cart to move and should have no issues timing the cart movement.)
Bran is driving at this point so an animal handling check is needed. Current count of 'counter ambushers will be Kal, Niche, and Natalia. Cart movers will consist of Varax and Bran. Correct? Current time is about 8am. The sun will be behind you but not for long.

{Unless Varax wants to be an ambusher as well?}
Sounds like a decent plan. I suggest those of us goin' inta the wood focus on the more distant gobos firs'. Take care o' yours an then move towards de wagon. That leaves th' closer 'uns fer Bran and Varax ta start.
Anybody got anything else ta add?

After you discuss your plan of action, Bran jumps back into the driver seat of the wagon and flicks the reigns. The oxen obediently move into action moving the cart along and back to the sign. You make the turn and continue on your journey. (Do we have a scout at this point, or is the other portion of the group that wishes to counter attack still with the party? Or are they flanking the cart in the forest?)
I guess it depends on how far the horses are from the turn to the east off of the main road. Our ambushers will have to leave the wagon and swing south thru the woods to get in behind the goblin positions to be ready to go once Bran pulls the wagon into the goblins sight.

Yep would make a note of the goblin’s position and have a look in the vicinity for more then report back.

Les go then
Niche and Kal lead the ambushers down around where they spotted the goblins, get them into positions and wait for Bran to spring our trap.
