Verim finally stops rocking and chanting, opens his eyes once more, an almost steam appears to radiate from his eyes. Verim tries to read the room, turning to the Derro, Verim starts to speak softly in a deep, baritone voice.
”My Goddess is always with me, as I believe she resides in us all, the arcane, all magics are because of her, if we have any chance of survival I condone you to find her light within you friend”
Verim turns and faces forward again, his darkvision getting more of a grasp of the surroundings, originally only hearing the conversations of the people in the cell and trying to gauge a face with a voice. He sighs and turns to the orc on his right.
“ Excuse me, Tobias was it? My name is Verim Zuvarni, I too desire to leave this wretched place, what are your thoughts? I saw a bridge on my arrival here and a few guards, a woman also, you see this woman at all? I believe she may be behind the subduing the nature of my power”
OOC: The cell is dark to those without Darkvision. There is a green light coming from the bridge beyond the gate which allows everyone without Darkvision to make out a few features of the other prisoners but their vision is definitely reduced.
El rolls their eyes at the half orc and fiddles with something in their hand. They stand with the wall behind them as if trying to keep everyone in their sight.
Ignoring the orc, Tobias turns to face the dark figure that has addressed him. He gives the man a nod. "Verim... I'm sure that we all would like to get out of here and no, I don't have a plan. I'm sorry. But in my haze, I counted around twenty guards, some very well-armored." He stops to see if the guards are curious of all the sudden activity and then turns to the others in the group. "All we can do know is try to gather what we can - both information and anything that may be useful." At this, he slides a sharpened flint shard from under his robe.
El addresses the half orc, avoiding looking at the full orc. "I don't know about the 20 guards but there's 3 for certain in a watchtower nearby" They eye the flint shard and their eyes flit between it and the orc.
“I appreciate your honesty, this is difficult for us all I imagine, being forthcoming will certainly aid us greatly, as you say the guards are armoured, some better protected than most though. Ilvara was a woman whom brought me here, maybe this will help”
Verim (although with great struggle) reaches from the back under his robes and pulls out ‘A piece of 5 foot silk rope’
”I think this was used in construction of the bridge, it was laying on the floor beside it, I was able to acquire this in my time getting to these cells”
Verim looks closely at the sharpened flint, his eyes fire making it glisten, handing it back to Tobias and sitting back down on his rope.
Seeing the shard, the Derro now pipes up, his eyes wide with excitement. “Where did you get that? I want one. If we get more we can stab! Stab! STAB THEM ALL!” He lets out a laugh that rings through your heads as he bounces with joy in his seat.
Ront the Orc smiles “We can kill them all with enough weapons! If I had my axe, they would already be dead“
Afterstaying quiet and watching the whole time, the Kuo-Toa sits forward and speaks with a voice that still sounds like it is underwater. “Seen the lllight of this wollld I have. Seen the dark of it too. We willll be free when the time is right. There is no need for violence”
El speaks, first to the Derro and then the Kuo Toa "Shhh if they hear us no one is going to be stabbing anyone! And no offence mate but I'd personally rather now over 'when the time is right' just saying"
Taking a bit longer to wake than the others, another deep gnome finally comes to. Hearing all the voices in his head he instinctively reaches up to his ears, but finding it has no impact starts to look around. He's similar height and weight to the others in the room, though perhaps slightly thinner. Dark grey skin, and pale white eyes. He's also got a rather bushy white beard, and now dirty, matted down white hair.
Hearing the others speaking, his voice rough from lack of use over the last week, he adds "Yes. Three watching from the tower." he also reaches under his robes and pulls out another small piece of rope, gesturing with it, adding "Any more? We can tie them together."
Though he's tried, and failed, many times before, upon waking , ShiShakli one more time attempts to squeeze out of his chains. ((straight d20 roll... any mods? 20))((first roll of the game a nat 20?! yeah!!!))
El regards the gnome with curiosity, taking in the newcomer in the small amount of light provided. They pocket whatever they were fiddling with and start thinking of escape plans. "Yes that's what I said, also we could use the pieces for different things altogether... Anyone got anything heavy? like a rock?"
Cyndral, brushed off by his fellow Drow, rises slowly to his feet and approaches Tobias. He makes no effort to hide the fact that he seems to be assessing the half-orc for their fighting capacity, and he lets his voice slip into the telepathic stream that seemed to link everyone around them as he did so. "Hello, friends. I am Cyndral, and thuogh I'm sure i look just like the full-Drow who run this place, I promise you I am not one of them. But if this place, this Velkynvelve, is a Drow prison, we need to flee as fast as we can. They certainly don't mean to fight us against one another, their intent is likely to sell us. A life of servitude awaits the luckiest of us. Death those slightly less lucky. But for myself, or anyone else who earns their particular ire, death will seem but a pleasant daydream when compared to our fate."
With a shimmy of his sleeve, an unnatural twist of the elbow, and a starnge hunched posture, Cyndral brings forth a small length of ragged metal pipe from his sleeve, relieved to no longer have the cold metal tucked against his arm. With as non-threatening of a posture as he can manage, he offers it to Tobias, a gentle smile on his face. "I managed to stow this away as they were taking us into this wretched place. I feel you may be able to make better use of it than I. Certainly, if I'm relyinng on such a blunt weapon, I am deeply in trouble indeed."
As he offers the weapon forth, his mind slips again to his own magics, trying to make heads or tails of why he feels disconnected from the shadow-stuff that has been part of his blood since birth.
(OOC: The pipe has the combat statistics of a club. Cyndral is trying to figure out what is suppressing his magical abilities, whether it's their location or something to do with the poison they'd been dosed with.)
Cyndral scans the walls of the cells, trying to concentrate on any of the spells that he knows. As he tries to figure out what is holding him back, he sees a slight shimmer in the wall. A few seconds later he sees the same shimmer, lines and symbols that hold a faint blue aura appear to be carved into the cell walls. These are some sort of rune.
El looks about, trying to see if there is anything that could be used in combat. The only things to be found in the cell are a few chamber pots that get emptied daily.
You all hear a slight rattle and a bit of yanking of chains as Shishakli twists and turns parts of his small gnomish body. Slowly but surely, and it takes a bit of time but Shishakli manages to slip the bindings from his wrists and ankles, the collar that sits around his neck takes a little bit more effort as he twists his head to one side and starts lifting it up, the cold metal presses against his skin, beginning to draw blood from his cheeks that runs slightly into his white beard. Eventually the collar slips off and he is no longer restrained.
(OOC - For El’s check I’d say Investigation. Just a reminder to those without Darkvision, Perception checks that rely on sight will be rolled with disadvantage when light sources are scarce)
After Cyndral introduces himself, the Kuo-Tao says “If doing introductions we are. Shuushar, I am”
The full Drow holds his head in his hands, still in pain “I, I still don’t know why I’m here. But unfortunately I agree with this...Cyndral. They won’t be making us fight but if there’s been mention of Menzoberranzan then our fates don’t look good. I may be the hardest one to trust here but I can assure you that I’m not the enemy. My name is Sarith and I will do what I can to get far from here”
The two similar looking dark gnomes who have now began to wake look at you all. The female gnome says in a quiet and slow voice “I’m Topsy and this is my brother Turvy”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Shishakli comes over to (Help) the other Deep Gnomes, Turvy whispers something to her sister. She turns to Shishakli “What should we do with the chains of the guards come? Won’t they notice that we’re not wearing them?”
It takes a bit of effort but the chains eventually manage to come away from the female gnome. Her brother however seems reluctant to try too hard, he keeps looking over at the gate as though not concentrating on the task at hand. The chains just won’t come free.
((there was another gnome too right? I''m still updating my note page with all the characters.))
Shishakli nods saying in Undercommon ((though it doesn't matter atm right?)) "Good thinking sister... we aren't the biggest here. Should we see who else we can free? The large one, and other dark one like us, seem eager to fight." and heads over towards Ront first, and the Darro second, thinking "It's always good to have someone to hide behind."

(OOC - There’s 1 deep gnome that is still asleep. Once all NPC’s have been named, I’ll put another picture with names corresponding to the pictures to help you all. As for the speaking different languages, you can all understand each other currently because of Stool’s spores)
The Derro stares at you with his white eyes “Yes. Help Buppido get out of these chains then we can start the killing yes?”
Buppido Dex roll 10
As you approach Ront, the Orc laughs “You think Ront needs help?” He lets out a low growl and starts straining and pulling at the metal around him.
Ront Strength check 19
Buppido groans slightly as the shackles cut into his skin. The smile on his face tells you that he might actually enjoy it though. The chains eventually manage to slip free.
As Ront pulls and strains, it appears that he still isn’t quite as strong as he’d hoped for. The chains remain intact and not even slightly twisted. The Orc looks at you all, slightly ashamed but mainly angry at himself.
Verim finally stops rocking and chanting, opens his eyes once more, an almost steam appears to radiate from his eyes. Verim tries to read the room, turning to the Derro, Verim starts to speak softly in a deep, baritone voice.
