Feeling better with the final monster at range, Shishakli drops his sword and shield, pulls out his light crossbow, moves his Mark to the beast surrounded by his friends, and shoots at it.
Although happier to be using a ranged weapon once more, Shishakli finds it difficult to get a good shot into the built up area of people at the creature that is constantly moving to avoid the barrage of attacks currently coming towards it. He fires a bolt from the light crossbow that becomes imbedded into the rock platform the El is now stood on top of.

Verim thrusts forward with his hexed sickle, the snake looks hungry as it hisses in the same tone as Verim. The scale like Sickle is thrust upwards in order to catch the hounds jaw. Verim stands as the ice continues to swirl around in water shaped glass, the pauldron gives out a bit of what it looks as steam in the chill, Verims breath can also be seen but he is charged and warmed by the combat.
As Verim swings the sickle upwards, the blade just narrowly misses the underside of the hounds jaw as the hissing sound can be heard around the cavern.

Gnarls swings once more with both swords, hitting with one and swinging wide with the other, the creature is heavily bleeding from the attack which is then followed by yet another bolt fired from JimJar. This one, however, just skims the back of the hound, nicking it slightly.
The Hell Hound turns and looks at the last person to have dealt any serious damage to it and glares at the halfling stood behind it. It lunges and sinks it teeth into Gnarls' left leg. Due to Gnarls' rage and anger, the pain given from this bite doesn't hurt as much as it should. What does hurt is the flames that burst out of the hounds mouth afterwards that begin to melt the fabric of his trousers which begins to stick to his now burnt flesh.

The flames, shouts of anger from Gnarls and general display of the fires light in the darkness is enough to throw El’s aim as they shoot and the bolt goes straight into the dark hole that the creatures had come from.

With the hounds teeth still fixed in Gnarls’ leg, Tobias sees his opportunity and swings his mace at the back end of the beast, with yet another Crack! The hound releases its teeth from Gnarls as it yelps once more as part of its hip shatters.

In a final effort to finish this, Shishakli stops and takes a deep breath... He prepares his bolt. He aims. He rests his finger on the Release and waits for the right moment.
The bolt flies through the air, over the hole below and directly towards the fire breathing hound. It shatters the part of the skull that it hits, breaking through and lodging itself deep inside the hounds head. The glowing eyes turn dull and the burning throat of the beast begins to fade.
End Combat. You each get 156XP
As the hound falls to the ground, teetering on the edge of the hole, another sound can be heard from deep down below. More low growling and scrambling in the darkness.
El peers into the blackness from where they stand and make a face, "I dunno bout you guys but I'd quite like to do something about that." They look around the platform to see if there's anything useful (also what's the big glowy thing?).
Perception 19 (disadvantage if there's not enough light 13) (-3 from that for investigation +0)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Picking up, and sheathing his sword and shield, Shishakli walks over to the beast to pull the bolt out, he then looks down with El nodding in response.
(The Glowing on the platform is a large mushroom) El looks down into the darkness, just about able to make the edges of the rocks on the way down by using some of the light eminating from Verim’s Shield. They can see a number of claw marks that have made their way upwards. They focus and close their eyes. Heightening their other senses. The low growling sounds very much like the hounds that they’ve just fought. There are more down there but there’s something else moving slowly, pounding the ground as it moves.
Even with his darkvision, Shishakli struggles to see far enough down into the hole, which means that whatever is down there is more than 120ft down.
Verim ponders at the problem of the beasts below, he closes his eyes in meditation, everyone close by sees Verim swirl his hands and kiss his amulet, channelling his faith into his deity, asking her for magical presence to come fourth and be detected by Verims visions, he focuses hard into the pitch darkness to detect any auras surrounding any beasts or creatures lurking in the depths.
Verim looks into the darkness but even with a detect magic spell he can't see any auras down there.
(There is quite a discussion with detect magic as to whether it should detect any magic casters or whether it simply detects a magical effect. It detects "a faint aura around any visible creature or object in the area that bears magic, and you learn its school of magic, if any" For that reason, I'd say that it wouldn't pick up on something that could use magic if it needed to. Apart from that, it only works in an area of 30ft and currently the noises below are coming from further away than that)
Seeing nothing much on the platform (I presume there's nothing else there) El walks back to the edge and addresses the group, "Sounds like there's more than just some big dogs down there so I suggest we get moving or find a way to block it up. If failing that we could try to funnel them so that they are easier to deal with or lay traps, either way I don't like our odds if we stay here." They crouch at the edge of the dais and switch to non-verbal communication with Gnarls as they keep an ear out for approaching foes, "mind getting my axes for me? Also I shot a crossbow bolt somewhere while you're there..."
Tobias relaxes, allowing his mace to drop to his side. "Well done, all." He looks to the others. "Does someone want to go grab the others to let them know it's safe to move up?"
He peers down into the bottomless crater, then looks to El. "Agreed. Sounds like something really big is down there."The cleric waits a moment longer to listen. He then gives one of the hounds a shove with his foot to send it down below. He kneels down to carefully listen for any changes in activity.

Still trying out new things with the blade, Cyndral thrusts the sword forwards but doesn’t quite get the reach that he’d intended.
