JimJar stands, still aiming his crossbow as he speaks “What the hell were those things? I’ve never seen anything like them before! Judging by the sound of things, I’d bet anyone here a few coins that if we stay here then we’ll see more of them”
Gnarls quickly looks around. He grabs the hand axes up to El and then continues to gaze around, speaking telepathically he says “I can’t see your bolt anywhere. Maybe it went down there” He points to the hole.
All of a sudden, you hear a loud noise of a hell hound corpse being hurled down into the darkness below. It bounces off the sides of the hole, hitting multiple times on its way down (I can’t help but picture the moment that Pippin drops the dead body down the well in LOTR) Bellow, you can hear more movement, whatever is below is now riled up slightly, almost agitated by the corpse that has just fallen into the area in which they currently are.

El looks around the group trying to suss if anyone is in desperate need of healing or if the party can tough it out for now Medicine 7
El looks at Tobias pointedly, "Maybe not your smartest move, they don't sound too pleased to see their friend's body." They tuck the handaxes back in their belt and draw their two shortswords. "Or maybe they'll enjoy the meal and leave us alone..."El's eyes twinkle in the low light with a mixture of amusement and excitement, unsure of what might happen next but too full of adrenaline to really feel scared.
OoC: honestly why do I even try lol, plus I checked and pretty sure gnarls and buppido were the only ones injured?
"These Vermin need to be dispatched and dealt with, they come from the pits of the planet and that's not a good thing, the gods are punishing us, and I don't mean Mystra"
Verim grits his teeth and holds his shield and sickle tight.
"I say we lure them out, then we can strike with full force, and send them back to where they belong, off this world"
(Ooc on phone and I can't change text colour or anything I can usually)
El sits on the edge of the platform with their legs swinging over the edge and look between the party and the pit, weighing up their options. "If we stay here like Verim says then we had best come up with a plan for dealing with these things. We were lucky that most of us weren't injured but 2 of our party were hit and they were hit hard; if there are more of these things down there I don't like our odds especially if they don't deign to come one at a time." They pause remembering the sound of a second creature, "and it sounds like that's not all that is down there; if it's some queen fire-dog thing or a troll or something else equally terrifying then I really don't want to face it while we take down it's 'minions' so I suggest we get the hell out of dodge or get some proper strategies going."
Ready to run and get the others, both Buppido and Gnarls stop in their tracks when the next part of the discussion starts. The sounds from below begin to get louder, closer.
Cyndral looks flabbergasted at the very notion of staying put.
"Yes, these things are an unforunate threat to any who may follow us. But that is the unfortunate way of life here in the Underdark. We have to keep moving. We've just had a conversation about the need to keep moving, after our last pause to converse about the need to keep moving. Every time we stop, every time we argue and bicker, every time we pause to refill our water skins or find a spot to relieve ourselves, Ilvara's forces draw nearer to us. And this time, they won't be coming with shackles. We've shamed them too greatly for that. This time, they'll be coming to give usa slow, horrible death. It's the only way they'll feel they can restore their twisted sense of honor, and they will pursue us to the edges of the surface to do it."
Cyndral's words snap El out of their adrenaline induced hysteria and they jump up, "yeah... forget what I just said, let's go!" They drop to the floor from the platform and prepare to run.
With what seems like a general consensus, Gnarls breaks out into a sprint. Buppido begins to follow but due to his injuries, thinks better of it and stays with the group. You can hear Gnarls shouting “We need to get moving! Quickly!” The sounds from the hole are getting even louder and 2 pairs of red eyes can be seen making their way up from the ground. Gnarls appears with the rest of the group, rushing through into the cave.
Verim stares into the cave, holds himself ready, looks at everyone else, he then relaxes. “Maybe we should move, I don’t want blood of a fellow companion on my hands, sorry for my fit of rage, let’s get moving” Verim proceeds to lower his attack stance and ushers everyone to move.

Shishakli is already up and headed away. At the least he's trying to get some distance to have range on whatever this is if it comes out, and better he's looking for a path of escape.
Now that their adrenaline induced bravery has worn off, El needs no more confirmation than that and, stowing their gear, breaks into a sprint. "Here comes another one! Let's get a head start on it!"
Gnarls stops and begins ushering everyone past “Quick, quick. There’s not much time” Sarith and JimJar both remain on the heels of Shishakli, looking for a good place to shoot their crossbows from if they need to while everyone else runs towards the tunnel to the North. Shishakli uses his keen sight to look down the tunnel, it’s wide to begin with but narrows quite quickly. There are no threats as far as he can see and it looks like the best option for an escape. Gnarls draws both of his swords and looks over to Cyndral “I’ll hold whatever it is back for as long as I can if you get everyone to safety. I’ll meet you in Sloobludop” Dendril stands next to Gnarls eyeing up the hole in the ground waiting for everyone to continue before nodding at both Gnarls and Cyndral, standing at the ready with his claws open.
Cyndral glances between the two of them, shaking his head at first but clapping them both on the shoulder quickly, despite the size difference between the two. He glances down the tunnel behind them before making a pained face and acquiescing, accepting that some sort of rear guard is necessary if the bulk of their huge grorup is going to escape together.
"Don't do anything foolish, you two. First chance you get, come running after us, we'll keep an ear out for you. If it goes sour and you do have to sell your lives, make sure you do it at a cost they won't forget. The ferocity in both of your hearts is more than even these cruel things can muster."
With that, he turns and runs down the expanse ahead of them, doing his best to keep up with the group. He also does his best to call some sort of authority or leadership to his voice, calling to those ahead of him, "Don't slow down, don't look back! We've two of our bravest at our backs, we must trust in their strength now!"
Hearing Tobias’ words, the whole group continue to make their way out of the cavern. In the distance behind you, you hear Gnarls shout out “This way you fiery bastards! If you want some, you’ve got some!”
The tunnel that you are now heading down scales down into a fairly narrow passage where you’re forced to walk 2 abreast. While some continue to look back from where you’ve just come from, the rest stay focused on moving forward. Eventually Sarith speaks up “I do hope we meet them again in Sloobludop” Shuushar nods in agreement “and in Slubludop we should be. Soon, very soon. Remember this tunnel now I do. A couple of days travel, three but maybe two”

"Only a fool would take that bet," Tobias replies to JimJar as he risesto his feet. "We need to continue on. There's a passage on the other side."
"Maybe...," the half-orc simply replies to El. "Or they could be happy for a meal."
"Gnarls... JimJar. Go check on the others so we can get moving again."
(Didn't someone check the area up on the platform?)
Buppido 6/13 HP
Gnarls 13/23 HP
Everyone else is at full health
The platform was briefly scanned during combat with nothing of worth found apart from the glowing mushroom.

"Do you all intend to fight the thing down there? Or shall we attempt to get out of it's territory to not anger it further?" Shishakli asks the group
