Rycider will now focus her attention on Denorian and his surrounds. Where is the gem he was holding? What is above him? The ceiling construction, are there beams?
The cloak is definitely magical, but learning its properties will take some identification.
For Tanakir:
You have just enough time to see that there is an aura of magic around the wand, but your senses are quickly overwhelmed by the amount of magic you detect in this room, a sheer light encompassing you. The platform, the walls, the shelves, the books and items on the shelves, it's as if the very air is constructed from magic.
For Rycider:
Denorian is absent-mindedly palming the gem in one hand as he reads. There is nothing but ceiling above him, which is at a great height, close to 150 feet above.
Your attention is drawn to a quill that has fallen from the shelves above you, slowly fluttering its way past.
Wes's magical darts don't cause the constructs to do so much as stumble, peppering one for 7 force damage and the other for 4 force damage. Denorian flicks a finger in the gnome's direction, and one of the constructs begins pummeling the base of the shelves beneath Wes.
Tanakir's hands move to his head, as if he is overwhelmed by something. He begins climbing higher, and not a moment too soon, as the bases of the walls beneath his and Wes's platforms suddenly crumble. Wes floats above the falling structure as the shelves tumble, burying the floor in rubble.

The iron constructs tower above the small gnome, glaring down at him. Their glowing eyes dim, and they cease their movement. On the throne, The Grand Wizard Denorian opens his hand, and the glowing purple gem disappears from view. With another hand flourish, the two unconscious captives slip from the globes, falling to the floor. Roccar immediately awakens, the powerful barbarian rushing to scoop up the limp body of Ser Mary Glendale.
Calmly, Denorian states, "You are trespassing in my home. Leave now."
(Wes had cast fly, I don’t think he would fall - I checked off the spell slot too because I noticed it hadn’t been used yet. Story wise I’m fine with it but I’m squishy enough as it is.)
So long as Roccar and Ser Mary Glendale are able to leave, Tanakir pockets the wand, sheathes his weapon, and climbs down, heading out with them wordlessly.
OOC: Previous post updated to correct Wes's flight.
For Wes:
The rubble of the walls has buried anything of interest that may have belonged on the shelves. Finding anything more would take some serious digging.
Roccar shares a nod of familiarity with Karst, and follows into the entryway with Glendale's form slumped over his arms. "I know not if Denorian speaks true. He has become consumed with his research. I fear his mind may no longer be his own," he says.
Dugan is standing wide-eyed at the entrance to the tower when you arrive outside. "Captain Roccar, you are here!" he exclaims with a salute. "The airship is prepared to return. Let's get you all aboard."
As they step onto the ship, Aradurk passes the cloak he acquired to Wes to be identified. "Let me know if you find out anything interesting Wes - thanks!"
"Captain Roccar. I am truly glad to see you in one piece," Aradurk calls out, solemnly relieved.

"It is good to see you both as well. She is stable, but she took quite a beating. They must have taken her by surprise. Had she been armored, those things wouldn't have stood a chance," Roccar says.
There is just enough time in the flight back to Sundabar for Wes to examine the items found in Denorian's tower. The cloaks grabbed by Wes and Aradurk are each a mantle of spell resistance, which require attunement to provide certain protections against spells. The wand that Tanakir had pocketed is a wand of magic missiles, which does not require attunement to use. Rycider's quill is not magical itself, but is currently affected by a comprehend languages spell.
Above the clouds, the skies remain clear of Denorian's constructs for the remainder of the trip.
OOC: The identified items have been added to character inventories.
There is just enough time on the flight to take a short rest. If you would like to roll hit dice, please do so in your next post.
OOC: Can we do them in succession to ensure we get to the right number of HP or do we just do one set of hit dice? It's been a while since we did this (example: if I use 5 hit dice and my result is lower than expected, can I add 2 more to try to better the result?)
OOC: Wes would have a few minutes to chat along the way, but not long enough to gain the benefits of a short rest.
You can roll as little or as many hit dice as you have. If you roll 5 and it doesn't provide as much health as you were hoping, you could roll more as long as you have the hit dice to roll.
