Wes also picked up the book that fell on him, taking the last couple of minutes to thumb through it for anything interesting.
“Did anyone new Fulmbles was dead, and his connection to Denorian? If they were that important to each other, wouldn’t they know at least a little bit that we wouldn’t hurt Fumbles? Unless it was inadvertent, had any of you been working with Fumbles?”
"I hadn't seen him in a while, most of my time was spent working for Roccar. I had no idea he was dead, if he is dead, that is! That Denorian didn't seem completely sane..." Karst looks back in the direction they have come as if expecting to see an army of constructs chasing after them.

Roccar for his part remains silent for the majority of the trip, staring off in the direction of Sundabar.
"Roccar?" Ser Mary Glendale awakes, able to do little more than move herself into a sitting position, leaning back against the wall of the ship's helm.
"Aradurk and Karst," she chuckles, "Why is it we only meet in dire circumstances? The last thing I remember if being buried beneath the collapsing walls of the tower. What is our situation?"
“I am so glad to see you’ve also dodged death again today”, Aradurk says lightly but earnestly to Glendale. “Best description I can muster is ‘sideways’. I’m sure someone else can wordsmith better than I.”

“Well seemingly the wizard attacked feeling provoked by Fumbles’ death... which appears to be news to all of us. We made chase after you, once arriving we were wholly outmatched by the constructs and Denorion. But he seemed to be focused on something else and just kicked us out. I don’t know why he would take you just to give you up?” Wes says inquisitively. “Maybe he put something on one of you two?” Wes begins to search Roccar and Glendale forgetting all social skills and personal space.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Fumbles is dead?" Glendale asks in shock. "How? Roccar, he was with you in Sundabar trying to find a way to see through a slaad shapechange, was he not?"
"I left ahead of him. How would Denorian know of his fate?" Roccar answers.
"I did not exactly have time to grab all of my gear before they grabbed me," the barbarian man glares, but does not complain as Wes rummages through his pockets and belongings. Roccar is not carrying anything at all on his person.
Around this time, the airship closes in on the Master's Hall in Sundabar, to find that the walls and ramparts of the tower are completely empty. Glendale lets out a cry of surprise as Wes continues to search her, as his hand reaches a hard object within the belt pouch of her simple riding clothes. "What is this?" she asks, pulling out a fist-sized diamond; it is Denorian's purple gem.
"No!"Roccar shouts, barreling across the deck and grabbing the gem from her hands. Immediately, Roccar's arm blackens, and begins to sprout scales, flowing up his body until he has fully transformed into a black, horned, toad-like creature, almost seven feet tall.
"He is a Death Slaad! That is not Roc--" Glendale shouts, and the creature cuts her short by slashing her torso with its claws, sending her falling painfully to the deck once more.
Wheeling to face the party, the slaad declares, "It does not matter. They will have forced the portal open by now."
The creature tears its claws into a balloon mooring at its side, one of the ten that are keeping the airship afloat. The ship rocks violently, lurching and leaning around 10 degrees to one side, nearly throwing the party to the deck. Everyone manages to keep their feet to the floor, including Dugan, who shouts from the helm, "Stop him, he's trying to crash us!"
While the party is regaining their footing, the slaad has moved further down the deck, slashing and tearing into another mooring. The ship lurches again and drops another 10 degrees to the side. It feels as if the party is about to be thrown from the deck to crash onto the ramparts 100 feet below. For his part, Dugan is desperately trying to keep the ship from spinning, holding the wheel down as far as he can with the weight of his body.
Round 1 Order: Death Slaad Players <=====
Tracking: The airship is 100 feet above the ground. The slaad is 35 feet away from the party, and has cut two of the airship's ten moorings. Moving across the deck of the airship will be very difficult with its angle leaning 20 degrees to one side.
Wes screams “Why did I have to be right?!” Twisting his hand around the wand as it changes its appearance to a feather he casts levitate on the Slaad. Hoping to render him unable to move towards the other moorings.

"I'm not sure this has anything to do with Denorian - whoever this is, I'm not sure he knew it wasn't Roccar." Karst slides and runs down the deck towards the slaad, swinging his axe as he does.

Bolstered by Karst's aura of protection, the three martial members of the party keep their footing sturdy as they run along the angled deck of the airship. The slaad resists the effects of Wes's spell, but is met by a barrage. Aradurk first draws his sword through the slaad's crossed arms, turning to cut a line on the side of the creature's face, pulling its attention away from Tanakir, who reaches out to grab the slaad's other arm, sending necrotic energy pulsing into the creature. Its scales are a pale grey when he pulls his hand away.
It backs away from Karst as the paladin lands two strikes, leaping away spryly to run another 20 feet to the next mooring, ripping it apart. The ship rocks again, nearly tearing the wheel from Dugan's hands as he shouts in surprise, leaning another 5 degrees to the side. At this point, it is taking conscious thought to avoid slipping off and falling to the ground while standing still on the deck.
"They will have found it by now! The link will be complete!" the slaad taunts.

The slaad has cut three of the airship's ten moorings. Moving across the deck of the airship will be very difficult with its angle leaning 25 degrees to one side.
Tracking: The slaad has taken 56 damage, but still looks healthy.
"Play the space!" Aradurk yells at his mates. "We need to keep between him and the other moorings to keep us from going tits up."
Moving slowly into position between the slaad and the nearest mooring, Aradruk readies an attack on the critter if he tries to get over or around to the next mooring.
He looks at the creature and growls a low growl.
