The flowing energy of the portal flares as Karst speaks the command words. The swirling energy outlines the form of a small humanoid for a moment, before settling.
"It doesn't matter if it explodes now. Doramor has gone through," the duplicate Aradurk says to Rycider as he and the duplicate Rycider transform into their slaad forms.
"What is this? I've been duped! How could I have been so foolish?" Roccar shouts in mock fury as he himself transforms into a death slaad, his rows of jagged teeth forming a wicked grin. "You know, an explosion sounds nice. We're done with this city anyway. You two, take it down. She loves you. It is written."
With that, two of the death slaadi leap into the portal, leaving the Karst and Aradurk slaadi among the party. Tanakir is able to register the presence of magic before Karst is on him, trying to rend him apart. Aradurk's sword is out in a flash, cutting into Karst before he can do anything else, but the mark barely phases the slaad.
For Wes:
The portal being unlocked, it looks as though they were trying to force it to activate before slaad-Karst activated it for them.
Knowing the volatility of the portal and the possibility of a situation like this, you and Roccar placed a safeguard into it; a series of glyphs along one side that when held for the appropriate amount of time (2 actions), the portal will deactivate for good once the command words, "Dumb Luck", are spoken again.
Tanakir roars as the death slaadi transform and tries to burn holes in Karst-Slaad's head with his gaze. He pulls out his club, reciting a short chant in Infernal before bashing himself in the head, breaking the skin. A small stream of blood begins to flow down Tanakir's forehead, but slows and begins to sizzle and pop, the sound of mixed screams coming from the boiling blood. As the last of it is seared away, the bident branded in his forehead glows with fiery energy as Tanakir uses his Channel Divinity (Both Slaad need to make a DC 14 Wis save or be frightened for 1 minute, if they move more than 30 ft away they can repeat the save).
He points his club at Karst-Slaad as it glows with celestial energy, screaming at him, "You! You will die for this! I swear it, no matter what I must do this day!"
Rycider, with all her might, will try and shove the nearest Slaadi into the portal. But only half of it. On the edge. (I think you see where I'm going here.)
You do see Wes as he attempts to hide along the side of the room.

Wes moves to the side of the room, trying to remove himself from the line of fire. Fixated on the terrifying aura of Tanakir, the slaad by the portal notices Rycider's charge too late. Slammed against the frame of the portal, the top of the slaad's form falls within the swirling energy, and the whole creature disappears from the battlefield into the portal.
Fighting through his sudden fear, Karst begins to batter Tanakir. The genasi blocks an arm with his club, but takes a claw to the side while the slaad's teeth try to tear through his splint-covered arms. Aradurk uses the opportunity to strike again; this time, the slaad reels back, stuck between two imposing fighters, and pulls out of range of Aradurk's following strike.

Karst turns from Tanakir, exchanging blows with Aradurk as the two fall into a frenzy, the slaad's natural weapons proving much deadlier. Though Aradurk scores two solid hits, Karst's claws tear at his legs and face while his teeth rend into the half-orc's arm. Blood pouring down Aradurk's face, he nearly falls. Rycider's dagger scores a hit, but the slaad barely seems to notice.
Tanakir slams his club, alight with fire, down onto the slaad's back. However, the fire, while not entirely ineffective, seems to simply roll off of Karst's thick, scaly skin.

Deactivated, the portal looks as camouflaged as Wes had described it. Without having seen it active, you might not spare it a second glance as more than a decoration within the room.
