The party retreats to the hallway, where only one of the constructs can easily attack. Karst bolsters himself, Aradurk, and Tanakir with magic, while Tanakir unleashes a sheet of flame at the approaching guardians. Even as the fire hits them, pieces of their armor blasted aside by Wes's shatter spell are slowly repairing themselves. Meanwhile, Rycider inspires the fiery paladin.
As one construct fills the hallway's opening, the flame dissipates, giving way to a massive fist that meets Tanakir's face, followed by a hefty punch to the chest, dealing 6 and 7 bludgeoning damage. Another construct sends a fist around the corner into Karst's shoulder, dealing 11 bludgeoning damage, but his follow-up instead strikes the wall, sending dust and shards of stone toward the party. White hot lasers fly from the eyes of two more constructs further back, one sizzling into Tanakir, dealing 4 radiant damage, burning into the ceiling above Karst's head.
Round 2 Order: Players <===== Enemies
Tracking: Five constructs remain. Two are slightly wounded but slowly recovering. Karst and Tanakir are shoulder-to-shoulder in the entrance, each engaged in melee combat with a construct. Tanakir has bardic inspiration (d8) for 10 minutes. Rycider is invisible for 1 hour.

She gives it a flick while Wes recites his spell to cast invisibility at forth level. Petunia drops the wand as Wes catches it from the air. He then scurries back away from the constructs.
Did not prepare invisibility.
Petunia will flyby the constructs to help distract the metallic threat, leaving an opening for Wes to shoot a fire bolt
"They are too powerful we aren't going to withstand this. Start to fall back, give us space to retreat, I'm hoping these things aren't that fast." Karst calls over his shoulder "We need to withstand this for another few seconds, then we go, OK?" He says to Tanakir.

Aradurk surveys the hall while Wes launches a fire bolt over the defending Karst and Tanakir's heads. The hallway runs for around 100 feet and opens up into a large central staircase of the tower. More shouts, clamoring, and the sound of metal hitting metal emanate from that direction.
Karst nimbly ducks beneath a fist, spinning from a second as it smashes into the stone wall next to him, moments before a laser strikes the same section of wall. Tanakir is seemingly not so fortunate, taking a fist directly to the head; a false image he had created melts away, and his movement as he dodges another punch shifts into two additional identical images. A sound emerges from a construct in back, a mixture of sizzle and whining as its laser backfires, dealing 11 radiant damage to itself. Smoke rises from the ruined mechanism in its eyes.
Round 3 Order: Players <===== Enemies
Tracking: Five constructs remain. Three are slightly wounded but slowly recovering. The party is 100 feet from the end of the hallway, where more sounds of battle can be heard. Karst and Tanakir are shoulder-to-shoulder in the entrance, each engaged in melee combat with a construct. Tanakir has bardic inspiration (d8) for 9:54 minutes. Rycider is invisible for 59:54 minutes.
(How Big is the hallway, would a whale get stuck in it? Is there enough distance maybe on the ceiling to do a fireball and not hit the party but get everything else?)
"I don't think we have a safe retreat. We stand our ground here."
Tanakir swings a club at the construct in front of him, the mirror images following his movements, and the wood glows green before bursting with green fire on impact.
Attack: 9 Damage: 13
If the attack lands, a shield guardian within 5 ft takes 5 fire damage.
Tanakir returns to his normal footing as a glowing red bident appears on his chest.

"So be it, let's take it to them!" Karst swings his glittering axe in a series of heavy slashes as he simultaneously charges the blade with the power of the hunt.
Thinking they have nothing to lose, Rycider finds a spot in the hall where she thinks the acoustics are good. She feels in her minds eye the folds in her larynx, the curve or her palette, the dexterity of her tongue. Tapping her throat to give it the mechanical quality, she will project her voice as loudly as she can, imitating the automatons.
OOC: The hallway is 10 feet wide and 10 feet tall, certainly smaller than a whale. There's probably room for a fireball to hit the ceiling of the previous room (where the constructs currently are) and hit them without hitting any members of the party.
Giving a little more time for Aradurk and Wes to take their actions before advancing.
Wes ducks down to get a proper view of the ceiling to send a fireball to target the constructs but not his partners. He holds out his hand and swirls his wand around it faster and faster as and orange orb begins to glow bright and brighter turning red. Then throws it down the hall.

Though Rycider's impersonation of the constructs' voices is spot on, they continue their assault. Tanakir weaves back and forth in front of his construct, having to pull his swing short to avoid the incoming fists, which crash through both of his remaining images, scattering them. Karst and his construct exchange blows, accepting a fist to the side and taking 9 bludgeoning damage and returning the favor with his axe. The paladins feel a rush of heat above their head as a thin line of fire darts past them into the previous chamber, erupting in a ball of flame that stops just short of the pair. When the fireball subsides, scorch marks can be seen on four of the constructs. Aradurk's missiles are less fortunate; an arrow follows the line of fire to smack the far wall of the previous chamber, and the other punches into the back of Karst's armor on the way to the target, dealing 11 piercing damage.
Karst CON Save: 32

“The very least there HAS to be more room to run, down the hall!”
Feeling his futile effort against the constructs to damage them, Wes uses polymorph on the closest Construct into a whale, blocking the passage of the other constructs to provide time for an escape.
