You awaken in a rooms with several chairs along the side of a table. At the Head of the table is a large chair and an imposing man sits smiling at you as you look around with his hands folded on the table. As you look around you see others sitting at the table with expressions similar to the way you feel: Shock and Confused.
The walls of the room appear to be made of a deep red mahogany wood just like the table. The chairs are also of mahogany with plush black cushions. Before you on the table is a backpack. Upon inspecting it you see there are several items in the bag (weapons, pouches, armor, coins) and several other items. The man at the head of the table stands slowly and looks around at each of you. As his gaze lingers on you, you feel the weight of eternity weighing on you. He nods and clears his throat slightly.
"Welcome to each of you and thank you for answering my summons. My name is Dawnguard Mathiall and I have summoned you each hear from across the multiple dimensions to aid in saving this world from total destruction. I would like to ask each of you to lend me your assistance. The current issue I would like you to look into with your Companions is dealing with the dragons and their cults."
He pauses and looks at each of you again before continuing. "The packs before you contain various items, as you have seen already, that could be useful to you as you travel about the world. The black book will allow you to write a message to me once a day and I will respond. I will not solve all of your problems for you as there are matters that I must attend to on the divine side. Your Companion will assist you as they can, but they are only meant to assist you, not do everything for you. Do you have any questions?"
He sits back down and it feels as if a lock has been removed from your mouth that you did not realize was there and you get the feeling you can speak freely now.
Night WIne (A Tabaxi): "So what makes us so "worthy" of solving this matter for you? And what is in it for us? I have other things that I was doing and then all of a sudden I'm in a place completely unfamiliar."
Erevan Moonwhisper sits calmly at the table, swiftly darting his eyes across the room. Erevan is a sophisticated High Elf. More noticeably, he's a Moon Elf with a pale, alabaster complexion tinged with blue. His silver-white hair is swept back neatly. The tips of his ears are pierced with earrings fashioned as crescent moons. His eyes are sky-blue and flecked with gold. An elven curved blade can be seen holstered on his back, while he has a spellbook attached to his hip. Erevan rests his hands on the edge of the table, and averts his gaze onto Dawnguard Mathiall.
"Perhaps you could enlighten us more on these dragons. My knowledge in these creatures is quite minimal." Erevan suggests in a calm, soothing manner.
Mathiall nods to himself as they begin to ask questions. "Recently there have been rumors flying about and a few reports of the Dragon Cults being seen to be on the move. They have been seen in several locations and even have attacked a few different places. No one seems to know what they want or what these Dragon Cult members are doing. What I would like you to accomplish is to find out what they are up to and put a stop to it. Each of you have a unique set of skills that could prove extremely useful to accomplishing this. There will be riches to had, renown, and even power for those that crave that sort of thing." He looks at each of the people seated (or standing in the case of one) awaiting the next wave of questions.
Erevan leans back into his chair, resting his forearms onto his lap and folding his hands together. He scans the room, observing the occupants of the table. Briefly analyzing each individual that was invited here alongside him.
"I've never encountered dragons before, nor have I tasted true combat in many years. I'm quite piqued to learn how my bladesong will fare."Erevan states boldly, as he averts his gaze onto Dawnguard Mathiall. "Where should we start?"
Mathiall looks towards the feline like person, "Greenest. They are going to be harassed by the Cult of the Dragon shortly. The town of Greenest was founded by the halfling Dharva Scatterheart, a rogue who fancied herself the queen of the Greenfields. Scatterheart passed away without ever achieving that level of eminence, but her town grew into a thriving community. Its success isn’t surprising, since Greenest is the only town of any size astride the Uldoon Trail, the most direct road between the eastern cities of the Dragon Coast, Cormyr, and Sembia with the Coast Way running south to the great cities of Amn, Tethyr, and far Calimshan. The trade caravans that pass through Greenest bring gold to the town’s merchants and craftsfolk, and Governor Nighthill runs the town at the behest of the inhabitants. I will be placing you just outside the town when I transport you."
He stands and moves towards a door and opens in. From your positions some will be able to see what looks like an armory. Any that have the ability to detect magic will feel a wave of power rolling out of the room. "Before you go, there are a couple things that I need to explain and I have a gift for each of you. Currently your abilities are just above average. This, however, can be changed. As you kill enemies, you will find stones dropping from the things you have defeated. Gather these stones as there is a group that have went to every city, town and even a few of the villages to set up a place where adventurers come and deposit the gems that they gather. I have given you each a Gem Pouch. This pouch will only let you put gems in it that you have found. It is an extra dimensional space, much like a Bag of Holding, but for gems. I have also give you each a Coin Pouch. It works the same as the Gem Pouch, but for money instead. On the gems, depending on how tough the monster is, the gem may have a different value. For example, if you kill a goblin, the stone may only be worth about 10 points or so. If you kill an adult dragon, however, depending on the color, it can be worth a few thousand points. You can take the gems to the Adventures Guild, corny I know but they chose their name, and turn in the gems and they will appraise them and let you know how many points you have and allow you to buy various things. They have magical items that can teach you new feats, items that when used will increase a stat point. They even have some VERY rare armor, weapons and accessories for sale."
He nods as he steps into the room for a moment then steps back out. "Lets see. Let me take a look at you real quick so that I can see what weapon and armor is best for you." He weaves his hands slightly in the air, signs that no mortal has ever seen, and a set of what appears to be paper sheets appear and fall lightly into his hand. He stands looking over the sheets a moment, every so often looking up at individuals before returning to read. He nods as he finishes the last sheet. "I think I have an understanding of what you are capable of now."He turns and steps back in to the room. You can her rummaging sounds from the room and the occasional crash from something falling over. He steps back out of the room and sets items down in from of each of you. "These Items should be a bit better that what you currently have and should help you tremendously."
He moves back to his seat and touches a crystal on the table, it glows slightly for a moment. Another door opens and a tall person comes walking out of the room. At first glance it appears to be a rather tall half elf wearing dark metallic armor that has a tail. "Sir, you sent for me?" The voice comes out as a smooth baritone.
Mathiall glances up, "Yes, I need you to assist these individuals. They have tokens in their bags. They will need to be trained in some new abilities (feats) before they are sent off."
The tall Half-elf turns to the group, "Come to me and present your tokens and I will grant you the ability of your choosing. I would advise you to remember, when doing this with the Guild, the process of learning a new ability takes time unless you trade in triple or more of the point cost at once. Quick training takes alot out of the Mage that creates the token. Also, just a word of caution, the increase to your strength and such does have a limit it can reach with just the Mage tokens. After that only a God can increase the points, if they so choose. You may even meet a few Gods while doing this undertaking."
[OOC: We will skip role playing this part but make sure you have selected your first 2 feats. Also, I have already added the Weapon armor and bags to your character.]
After a few moments of listening to the strange man speak and after eye balling everything and everyone else in the room, Night Wine reluctantly says, "Well, when and where are we going?"
Mathiall looks at Night Wine, "You will be sent to Greenest first. As for the when, I will open the way once everyone is ready."He looks at the other members that are still sitting in shock and have not moved. "Seems they have forgotten how to move. I know the Summoning was a surprise but I have never seen anyone this frozen. Maybe it was the ether I used, or maybe it was the...." He trails off looking perplexed at the frozen forms.
Erevan has a gleam in his eyes upon receiving new equipment. He's brandishing the Elven Curved Blade elegantly, eager to use it in combat. Erevan will sheath his sword, and he'll look upon the others that Dawnguard Mathiall has selected for this quest.
"We have not yet been acquainted. My name is Erevan Moonwhisper. I'm an unorthodox Wizard, as my magic is conducted through my saber. Wizards like myself are referred to as Bladesingers. My son would be delighted to hear tales of my conquest of dragon cults. I'd be honored to accompany you for this journey." Erevan speaks in a confident, upbeat tone.

Assuming he has no other choice, Night Wine stands up and says "I believe I have everything I need for this "adventure". I'm ready when everyone else is." Night Wine speaks with a sort of Middle Eastern accent.
Mathiall looks at Night Wine. "If it is your choice to not be part of this adventure, you are welcome to decline my offer. I can return you to where you came from with a small bag of gold. To embark on this has to be your choice. I shall not force you to do this and will have no ill will towards you if you decline to go."He smiles kindly. "Not all Gods are unreasonable, you know. Some of us are quite pleasant once you get to know us."
Chuckles to himself, " What would make this interesting enough for you to be part of the proceedings? I mean, think of the stories you would be able to tell in the inns once this is over? Many a people would probably pay good money or buy you lots of drinks for you to regal them with tales of your exploits."
"Regardless, you seem honest enough about the rewards. I'm sure the pay will be better than what I usually do. I might be able to actually earn enough to-" He cuts himself off as if he said too much.
Erevan raises his eyebrow, darting his eyes to Night Wine. His interest has been piqued as he noticed the hesitation from the tabaxi. A grin grows on Erevan's face while he scans Night Wine meticulously, studying his body language in particular.
"What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" Erevan states in a bold, yet facetious manner.
Insight check on Night Wine as Erevan tries to determine Night Wine's personality traits: 19
Night Wine looks towards Erevan with darting eyes, and with shaken, almost terrified voice says, "That isn't any of your concern. What I need it for is my business. And your pun is very, how they say, low brow". You get the sense that whatever Night Wine does to earn gold is not for selfish reasons.
Erevan's grin turns into a smirk, the hilarity arousing his interest in the matter. Beaming his eyes to Night Wine, wafting his hand through the air as if he were scratching on something.
"You have to be kitten me. I have a feline my puns are PAWS-itively PURR-fect."Erevan relishes the jesting while his smirk has widened.
Mathiall laughs heartily watching the two. His mind wander briefly to his younger days and running with a group similar to this one. He shakes himself "Purr-fect. But yes, the pay is extremely well. " He looks around at the rest of the party. If everyone is ready, I can open the way to your first leg of the journey." He moves to another wall where a large circular door frame is set into the wall. Around the ring are several runes made of what appears to be various different precious gems stones. Next to it is a stand with matching runes on it. Mathiall's hands fly over the runes, touching them only briefly. As he touches each of the stones on the stand, the ones on the ring begin to emit a soft glow. As he touches the 7th one, the ring fills with a light before clearing to show a road winding through fields with a town in the near distance. "In the distance is Greenest. If you follow that road, it should take you only a couple of hours or so to reach the town." He looks at the party. "Good luck on this quest and be careful. Some things are not as it seems."
[OOC: To progress the game, we will move forward and Dakota and Jordan (if he is going to play) can join at a later time.]
After inspecting himself and double checking to see if he has everything needed Night Wine heads towards the opening made by Mathiall. "Hurry up, the rest of you.", he says, with a calm expression.
