A chubby, middle aged, gnome sat through the whole exchange with a look of terror on his face. Only after banter, gifts, and explanations did he seem to relax from a rigid position. He looks around and breaths a sigh of relief, though still seems uneasy.
"I'm not dead, right? I'm certainly willing to help, especially if things are as dire as you say and we can stop unneeded loss of life....it's just....I know when when smallfolk are pressganged into something bigger than them it...it likely means I'm not dead yet."
Mathiall watches the horse man collapse and blinks. He then turns to the armory and pulls out chain mail and hands it to Rha'El. He waves his hand slightly and the plate vanishes from him and the chain appears in its place.
Mathiall turns to the small gnome and chuckles. "No, you are not dead.....yet."
The gnome gawks at the holy weapon and shield, far beyond anything he's known. Embarrassed that he isn't in good enough shape to wear full chainmail, he sneaks it into his pack. He always meant to lose a few pounds.
"That's good. I hope to feel the sweet embrace of lovely Mishakal when my time comes...no offense. I am ready, I suppose. Always ready for a new road."
The little cleric looks to his new companions and extends a handshake to each.
Rha'El dons his new armor with relative ease."Thank you for the gifts, sir. Hopefully we can make use of them to appease the true god of death." He says as he closes his eyes to cite a small prayer. "Lest we incur his wrath."

Erevan brandishes his new curved blade, testing the weight and the balance of its impeccable design. Donning his studded leather armor elegantly under his robes. He glances over as the others begin to make their presence known. Erevan ponders to himself, contemplating if he'd bode well with these other individuals as a team. He's not accustomed to working in a unit; let alone a random ensemble of adventurers.
"Quite an interesting selection of adventurers." Erevan says with a hint of concern. "Familiarity appears not to be a factor in this case. How about we test each others skills before departing on the quest? I'd like to see how sturdy each of you are." Erevan states boldly, offering the sparring challenge to anyone who may accept.
Mathiall chuckles at the spry elf's Challenge to the others. "That may actually be a good idea. So you can see what each of you are capable of." His hands move across the runes again and the scene changes to an arena setting. "This is still in my domain and any wounds you suffer shall not be fatal and will heal once the battle is done. There maybe a special prize for the overall winner." He chuckles again. "So who is going to accept the elf's challenge?"
A dark skinned Aasimar appears suddenly in the room pacing and speaking in an aggressive tone. "Master, I understand the severity of changing events. It is time you give me my OWN event to.." He turns to address the group, but the look on his face tells he was expecting someone else. Melnar moves his hair from his face eyeing the room he has found himself in. Letting out an annoyed sigh as he clenches his hands into fists and leans forward, expecting to move. Appearing much more cautious as he looks over the group again. "Who are you lot, and why am I stuck?!"
Mathiall turns and looks at the newest addition to the group and blinks slightly. " I thought the spell was done gathering people.", he says softly. His head cocks to the side slightly and he studies the individual a moment. The air seems to simmer like heat waves about him and a pressure can be felt in the room as if an electrical storm was happening. He nods after a moment and mutters, "I see." He moves slightly across the room towards Melnar. "Welcome, traveler, my Name is Dawnguard Mathiall. These gentlemen," his hands sweep about the room, "are adventures that have been summoned to this realm to assist in stopping a threat. Apparently the same spell that summoned them pulled you here as well. Your skills could come in handy to stop the dragon cults plans. If you wish, you are more than welcome to join them in this endeavor. There are many rewards that can be had and power that can be gained. It is possible that you can even learn to control what you are seeking to control."
Melnar's temper dissipates at the mention of the threat of a dragon cult. He stands up straight and fixes his clothes. "Stopping dragon worshipers from destroying the world? If I understand correctly then this would be exactly the kind of thing worthy of my attention."He smiles for a moment before looking to the blue and green bracers covering his arms and a concerned look forms in his face. "I am not sure how or why I am 'grounded' though."Then turning back to Mathiall. "Who or what are you to stop the Master's magic?"
Mathiall nods at the question, "I am not sure who your "Master" is, but I am Dawnguard Mathiall. I am the God of Magic and Knowledge for the multiverse. We are currently in my Domain. Nothing happens here unless I want it to happen."
Pauses for a moment, contemplating what was just said to him. "I see, well that would be strong enough to prevent my travel."Trailing off for a moment as he looked around the mostly wooden room. "Where would we be going from here? I haven't exactly packed for an extended stay on a foreign world."
Mathiall turns to the half-elf looking companion in the room and jesters him forward. "Vandell, I need you to gather one of the packs for this gentleman." Vandell nods and moves to the armory. Mathiall turns back to Melnar. "Right now, Erevan here has made a good suggestion about seeing what you each can do. I have a portal open right now to the areana so you can each test that out either against one another or against creatures I can summon for you. Maybe the Tarrasque......?"
Vandell returns from the armory and brings a pack to Melnar and hands it to him. Inside there are several items: potions of healing (5), a little black book for reaching out to Mathiall once a day, a gem pouch and a coin pouch. Vandell also takes a moment to gather the tokens and help with the extra skills. While assisting with the skills, Vandell also explains the use of the Gem Bag and how gems are appearing from defeated enemies.
Erevan swings his curved blade ahead of him, brandishing his blade through the air as he swiftly glides his feet across the floor. As he's performing this flashy movements, Erevan harnesses an Ice Knife in his hands, and flings it toward the centaur's direction.
Attack: 16 Damage: 6
Hit or miss, the Ice Knife will explode on impact, and the centaur will need to make a Dex Saving Throw (DC: 11) or take 8 cold damage.
